Since when did air travel become so expensive? At Spirit Airlines, our motto is Less Money. More Go. We believe that when you spend less, you ultimately get More Go. Whether that means more adventure in new places, further trips to far-away destinations, or maybe visiting the ones you love more often, we champion those fliers who see travel as the ultimate goal. We strive to keep airfare fair by allowing our fliers to pick à la carte extras like bags, seat assignments, and refreshments, while others bake them into their ticket prices. Our Fit Fleet™ is also one of the youngest in the industry, allowing us to charge less for fuel while taking you further. So what are you waiting for? Kick off your next trip and save with us at www.spirit.com.

Poor Airline
I've flown with them multiple times, but only as a last resort. Very uncomfortable, no tv's, charge for luggage, and no snacks unless you pay.
SCAM Alert – Spirit Airlines Took My Money Despite Cancellation Insurance!
I’m beyond furious. I booked a surprise getaway with Spirit Airlines and bought the cancellation insurance just to be safe. Well, guess what? My partner got sick and I had to cancel the trip – and despite doing everything right, Spirit kept more than 50% of the ticket price!
The rest? Not refunded – just a lousy credit that’s only valid for 12 months. And if I don’t use it within that time, maybe the insurance might give me something back – maybe. What kind of shady setup is this? Why bother offering cancellation insurance if you’re just going to keep the money anyway?
Absolute ripoff. No compassion, no flexibility, no accountability. Never flying Spirit again. You truly get what you pay for – and sometimes even less.
Avoid at all costs.
🚨 Worst Airline Experience
🚨 Worst Airline Experience – Unprofessional & Abusive Crew! 🚨
I had an absolutely terrible experience on Spirit Flight 712 (FLL to LGA, March 16, 2025). The flight attendants (Kate, Ana, Christen, and another female crew member working in the front) were rude, unprofessional, and completely incompetent.
❌ SAFETY CONCERNS – They failed to explain emergency exit procedures properly. Would they even know what to do in a real emergency?
❌ ABUSE OF POWER – They threatened to deplane me just for asking about available overhead space. Another passenger was kicked off the flight for simply questioning them!
❌ TERRIBLE SERVICE – A family with kids was denied water during a 90-minute onboard delay
❌ PATHETIC COMPENSATION – Spirit's response? A $30 voucher. What a joke.
I have filed a complaint with the DOT, and I strongly advise everyone to avoid Spirit Airlines unless you want to be disrespected, threatened, and treated like a burden instead of a paying customer. ✈️ Do better, Spirit!
Terrible Customer Service and Lack of…
Terrible Customer Service and Lack of Accountability
I recently had an awful experience with Spirit Airlines regarding a ticket purchased through a third party. Spirit allows third-party companies to sell their tickets, yet they take no responsibility when these companies engage in fraudulent practices.
When I contacted Spirit, they acknowledged that my reservation existed in their system and assured me that if any changes were needed, they would handle them. However, when the time came to make those changes, they completely backed out, claiming they couldn’t help because the ticket wasn’t purchased directly from them.
This is completely unacceptable. Spirit Airlines enables these third-party sales but refuses to protect their customers when issues arise. First, they say they can assist, then they change their stance and leave customers stranded. This level of customer service is beyond disappointing. I strongly advise against booking with Spirit Airlines unless you’re ready to deal with frustration and a complete lack of accountability.
Their staff (FLL) tries to gaslight you…
Their staff (FLL) tries to gaslight you (e.g. telling you were late when you weren't, or that you haven't checked in when you have, or that there are no seats left when there are). I'm currently in the middle of investigation because the airline staff denied boarding while claiming falsely that it was my fault. Save yourself the trouble!
Spirit of lies
My pregnant wife, me and my 20 month old daughter try to fly from Orlando to Bogota. We arrived at the Airport on time and went to the self check in counter. There we could not check in because of my daughter. So we got redirected to the counter where we waited in line. We were second in line before they stopped the line to check in people for different flights with a last call (Costa Rica). We still had enough time so we waited. Once we got to the counter, they told us it is to late and we won't be able to fly. According to the Supervisor we did not reacted to the last call for Bogota, which never was announced. My parents in law stood with us in line and also never heard a last call for Bogota. We told them we heard Costa Rica but never Bogota. Their answer was that if we heard Costa Rica, the call for Bogota was much earlier. Weird because we heard Costa Rica and still had 50min until boarding. Spirit policy is that they make the last call 40 min prior to boarding. So they must have made their last call way to early and not at the correct time.
They rebooked us for a flight the next day. But we wanted to fly out that day because we already drove 2 hours to the airport and have people waiting for us in Bogota. So we asked if we can get a full refund if we look for other airlines to fly out that day. The supervisor confirmed the refund. I have it on recording. I was gonna share the recording but I am not allowed to add links. I also review this on other sites with the recording.
So we booked a different airline and canceled the rebooked flight for Spirit for the next day. They never wanted to give me a printed confirmation of that cancelation. They said I have to trust their word. Please never trust them. They are liars. We never got the refund and they actually saying we were a No Show. Well we have enough proof that we where there on time and the audio of the supervisor confirming the refund. Please don't choose them and don't believe them even when they tell you so. Get in in writing. But not even then I believe you will get anything. I have the recording and costumer support doesn't want to refund us.
I would have chosen to fly the next day if I knew I wouldn't get a refund. That is the frustration part about it. They confirmed me the refund and don't give it.
Started great…ended crap
Booked big seats for a flight from Los Angeles to Chicago
Everything was great, priority check in
Fast track security, great seat, nice flight
Arrived 15 minutes early, then it all went downhill fast
Waited for over an hour to get to gate, because another spirit flight didn’t clear, couldn’t open bins so couldn’t get phone so missed our booked ride
Everyone told me spirit were dreadful for most of the flight I didn’t get it by the end I did
Never again
Not EVER gonna fly AGAIN IN MY LIFE!!!!
First off, I was leaving from Boston to Orlando or Where I was gonna get on my connecting back home. The flight we were on was set to land after the Departure Time. So, They said they were gonna wait for OUR flight to land so we could catch my Connecting but they didn't. Not recommended for Layovers at ALL. I think they are stupid. Be gone foul beast airline!!!
SAVER$ CLUB - EVIL SPIRIT AIRLINES SCAM
There are two kinds of Spirits. This is an Evil Spirit.
Spirit Airlines SAVER$ Club is a twisted scam. Once you're in, you can never leave. Cancellation is impossible. We tried every one of their options. We provided proof of our attempts to the bank. They closed our card account and issued us a new card from a new account. That's what it took to get out of the Spirit Airlines bear trap of a SCAM.
I must mention that we chose to cancel our plan after our flight experience. It took 2 days to get from CLT to MCO. Spirit cancelled out seats due to Spirit overbooking flights, causing ticket cancellations. Being a Club Member gave no benefit to our situation. No reimbursement, No hotel vouchers, No food vouchers and No courtesy. Their attempt to overbook seats caused us to spend $300 and an extra day.
The return trip was the same experience, except that we were on a flight 2 hours later and didn't have to spend the night. The flight was a very bland experience, as they sucked the last dollars from their guests at the luggage counters and beverage carts. (EVIL SPIRIT)
This is the most underrated airline…
This is the most underrated airline ever i got amazing service i was from Charlotte to Las Vagas in the big seat and it was somehow cheaper than any other airlines premium economy and i even got free food, Wi-Fi and saved a lot of money the flight was only 481$ for both ways out while delta was 540$ american was 782$ and united was 498$
Cheap but bad
Looking for cheap flights? This is the airline for you, but don't expect to be treated well. You get what you pay for on this airline...
Flown it 30 times
Flown it 30 times. It was late once, that's it.
Gotten me to 6-7 different countries over the years, plus NOLA, Boston, etc. for so little money, so many times.

I fly spirit at least once a month and I’ve never had a bad experience. I mean I had delays but that’s beyond their control. Flight attendants are always great and funny
The worst airline in the world
The worst airline in the world. I will never fly with them again
Don't fly Spirit Airlines EVER!!!!
Spend the extra money and do NOT FLY SPIRIT AIRLINES! Delayed flights EXTREMELY SLOW baggage claim.
Boycot because racicm to islam
Thanks for the help
I use to purchase tickets with spirit due to its low prices, even through I heard bad stories. However my last experience was really good. I purchased the basic tickets for my family, with no carry on luggage, however we bought a desktop computer and needed to travel as carry on luggage. They upgraded one of my family tickets and could travel with no problems. Thanks.
Directions on website sent me to paid site
I flew Spirit a couple weeks ago and was impressed with their ticket counter staff in Atlanta other than for an elderly gentleman who clearly did not want to be at work at 6 am. The inflight staff to FLL and to MDE Colombia were fine. My concern is that the Spirit website indicate I MUST complete a government immigration form before my flight to Colombia. It gave the link to use. I followed the link, completed form and was charged $104. I found out the form is free and is available free on a Colombian Immigration website. I contacted Spirit and they said, "Sorry you did not pay Spirit, not our problem." Spirit directed me to use this link; they offered no other option. It's a con and they are responsible. They cannot even see why this is so wrong.
Cancel Spirit Airlines membership…if you can!!
To cancel the Spirit Airlines Membership they have a policy requiring a member to call in. They offer a quick sign up on their webpage online, but to cancel the membership they require you to call, which could take hours between all the transfers, call drops, recalls, etc. What a con!!!! DEMAND MORE!!! Every vendor wants all your money .... quickly!! Consumer, demand they give you more quality. If they cannot, go somewhere else! They should be forced to compensate the consumer for the effort and time needed to manage services like this. If a sign up takes a few minutes, so should the cancellation!!!
Zero care about refunding my accidental purchase 30min after booking
I booked two flights within 7days of the departure date, forgetting that there is no 24 hr cancellation policy if the departure is within 7 days (it was literally 7 days and 2 hrs). I quickly realized my mistake and called Spirit less than an hour after booking. The agent said they couldn't refund the ticket over the phone, but to use the chat. I tried the chat, after spending hours on the chat trying to reach someone, I finally got a link to a claims website. The link did not work. I found an email and sent an email about the issue. The person who responded said that they would not issue a refund and that I would only receive a flight credit. Which would be fine, except I don't intend to fly Spirit again, mostly due to the fact that they don't fly to anywhere I fly often. So they're basically just going to keep my extra fare, so I doubled the cost of my flight. Really frustrating and not worth flying Spirit again!
