I wouldn't recommend buying a car from…

I wouldn't recommend buying a car from here.

There are a few things that should have been done before selling. My dads a mechanic luckily, so we could tick through them at least. Long story short the car was viewed quickly by someone else who arranged for it to be delivered to me. It was an unusual stressful time where we needed something arranged quickly and I wasn't available. Never again 😄

It passed an MOT in August 2026 with the garage over the yard from them i believe, but not serviced, even though it was due. It has a full service history but the last service was June 2025. The brake pads were fitting wrong, so squeaked terrible and needed replacing in the end. It was sold as 1 owner but it's had 3. It was delivered with a petrol light and a low tyre pressure warning light and the tyre was at 22 psi. I wasn't given the green slip from the V5 to tax it easily either. One of the front windscreen jets didn't work properly and the rear one was blocked entirely. It also had a stack of number plates on the front and back, new ones stuck to the old ones. It has a squeak/whistle when it accelerates that is still being looked into. We had to call back for something I forget, the staff were unhelpful and the person who sold the car wasn't available both times with no call backs. It also should have had a good detail, it's clean enough but should have been done better.

I nearly took it back, but as i said its a difficult time so i haven't the energy. It's nearly all done fingers crossed.

Be very cautious buying a car from here if you have to. They have a low standard of how a car should be when selling it and no eye for detail. Even though most of it has been easy enough fixes, they aren't so easy for everyone and requires a garage. Still investigating the squeaking when it accelerates, wish me luck

I have just bought a car from Spirit…

I have just bought a car from Spirit Motor Company in Leigh. My experience was a positive one I found the right car, contacted Kaiss, who asked me to come and see the car when convenient. On my arrival, Kaiss was warm, professional and everything we had spoken about prior to my visit on twisting to the car was spot on. Car was cleaned, has been service, drove like it should and was sitting there ready to be taken for a drive. Kaiss, was very informative, shared his knowledge of the cars practical and technical features, as well as the history of the car. No hard sell, good company, other staff who were warm and friendly, especially his wife with with her amazing smile. It was a positive experience, the car is driving great, I couldn't ask for much more, oh, and delivered the car on time at my house, as agreed. I would recommend them b to family, friends and this that require a good car.

Absolutely shoddy

Absolutely shoddy. I paid £100 to reserve a vehicle. The vehicle was not available and I was pushed from pillar to post trying to arrange a viewing. Given the runaround numerous times. The salesman Archie was extremely unfriendly and unprofessional when I asked for a refund. Because I had paid by card he demanded that I drive 19 miles to the dealership for the refund. Do not go near this company.

STAY WELL AWAY - RUN RUN RUN

Stay away from this setup! They come across all friendly but as soon as they have your cash the lies and aggression starts!
The warranty is price inflated (can be bought direct much cheaper) and they try not to give you policy saying it only starts after 30 days! All lies! They promise everything and deliver zero!
Do yourself a favour! DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! SAVE YOURSELF THE HASSLE! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! TRUST YOUR INSTINCT AND RUN!

STAY WELL CLEAR!

Just do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs... unprofessional, liars and complete con artists.
They push you to buy warranties for their cars, which only after checking with the warranty company and paying a £500 holding fee — that we were told to pay to get the warranty at the better price — did we find out from the warranty booklet that the warranty company won't even cover cars over 12 years old... yet they were selling me a 13-year-old car.
Asked Spirit Motors to provide proof of warranty cover, only to be told that they can't provide any information without fully purchasing the warranty upfront. We were told this all-inclusive warranty would cover "everything apart from the tyres"... on a 13-year-old car... yeah, okay.
Read the reviews and decided to drop out of the sale and run. Asked for the holding fee back, as they had sold us a product that clearly doesn't exist, by their own admission in the end, as well as getting confirmation from the warranty company that no such product existed.
Straight away, we were told that we would not be receiving the holding fee back. One member of staff even laughed down the phone and said, "Tell you what, if we can prove the warranty doesn't exist, she'll send us the £500 back."
We sent proof via the warranty provider's website and, conveniently, it was completely ignored.
AVOID AVOID AVOID. Scammers, con artists and clearly make a habit of it, looking at the other reviews!

** Avoid - Spirit Motor Company Ltd **

Spirit Motor Company Ltd – Unfit Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!
We attempted to purchase a White Kia Sorento KS 3, 2015 (65 reg, Euro 6) advertised at £5,950 from Spirit Motor Company Ltd (Manchester branch), with £150 delivery, totalling £6,100. We were also told that if we agreed to proceed and pay a deposit, a £500 discount would apply.
From the outset, every phone call followed the same script: “There are many other people interested, it’s about to be sold, act fast.” On one occasion this was said before they even asked which vehicle registration I was calling about.
The advert described the car as:
• A grade condition
• One owner
• Full service history
• HPI clear
• Fully inspected mechanically and cosmetically
• Supplied with a fresh MOT and 3 month warranty

Because I live in the South East/East Anglia region and required delivery, I asked for written confirmation of these claims. I captured the advert, made notes, and emailed a list of key points, requesting a simple “yes” confirmation. I was told their company email was “temporarily down” and asked to send it to a salesperson’s personal Gmail, which I did.
I was then assured that they would:
• Confirm all points in writing
• Provide a detailed internal/external video showing bodywork, engine, and interior
They said this would be prioritised if I increased my deposit from £100 to £500. I agreed and paid £500 by credit card on 29 May 2026.
Immediately after paying, the story changed.
Major Issues
• I was told the car was not even in their possession — they needed to “go to auction” to get it.
• Their delivery driver made three failed attempts to collect the vehicle.
• The video provided was a rushed walk through, showing no meaningful detail.
• Marks on the car were dismissed as “washable,” despite them claiming the car had already been valeted.
• They then claimed they had lost the proof of service history.
• Refund delays followed, including excuses such as the “boss being on holiday.”
• Every promised deadline was missed.
• Every failure was met with deflection.

Staff involved
Archie, Mohammed Sadiq, Oliver and Kais.
Overall
This was an extremely poor operation, full of broken promises, shifting stories, and evasive behaviour. If you are already in contact with them, document everything, insist on written confirmation, and be cautious when they move communication from company email to personal Gmail accounts or personal mobiles.
Final Advice
Avoid Spirit Motor Company Ltd (07298546 ) of Manchester WN7 5RP. In my experience, they are not a trustworthy outfit.

This company is an absolute scam- DO NOT BUY HERE!!

I bought a car and within 6 days of having the car it had broken down and wouldn’t start again. I called to get the cars issues fixed as I was told the car had been checked over before taking it home. It took some back and forth and they finally agreed to take the car back in to fix it as I was debating giving the car back within the 14 day grace period. My car was then being “fixed” for over 2 weeks and the fuel pump was “replaced” - which i’m sure was just to take me over the grace period. The car has now had an MOT and failed on the fuel pump as it was never actually replaced they just lied to my face. I’ve then tried to claim on the warranty that i was pushed into getting that would apparently cover anything apart from the entertainment system only to find out that the £800 years warranty only covers £500 and you can only claim once a year. The claim has then been denied even though the fault was one of the things they “cover” . This company and the warranty they offer are both an absolute scam. Please do not buy a car here you will regret it! I wish I read more reviews before getting the car.

Bought a Nissan Quashqai from Trade Cars Direct, the trade clearance arm of Spirit Motors. The customer service from Sani was good - friendly and helpful. Price was negotiated easily. Warranty offered was less appealing - poor cover for the cost, and I later took out a third party warranty which suited my needs better. The car itself was ok, but when buying a trade car you need to be aware that these vehicles are at the bottom of the motor-trade food-chain and may well have issues - Sani let us have a good test drive to make sure we were happy with it. Buying a 10 year old car with 100k miles on it you are need to be realistic about what to expect - do your own checks and pay an appropriate price. Car was ready for collection as agreed, and the transaction was easily completed. Overall a good experience, and I would use this company again.

Attended Spirit Motor Company today and bought a car from Archie. He was really helpful and friendly. Answered all the questions we had about the car and made the process really quick and simple. Archie helped us out insuring the car so we could drive it away then and there.

Avoid at all costs

They told me they had sorted the problems that we had with the car, there was oil in the coolant. It had to go back to the garage twice, both times they claimed to have repaired it. I had only put a deposit down at this point. They clearly had only flushed it through to make it look like it had been repaired. I've had the car for a month and the problems started. It started overheating and the coolant hose just popped off while driving. I took it for a second opinion and they said the head gasket has gone, so they clearly hadn't fixed the issue. We rang up because I'm still under warranty and the sales team said they had to call back and I still haven't heard anything. I would avoid buying any car from this company
