ONE STAR IS ZERO STAR! BEWARE!!!

BEWARE! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! FIND SOMEWHERE BETTER!

My friends and I went stayed at river Clyde apartment near riverside last month for 2 night. Before that, I was told to paid for damaging despoit which I find is ridiculous for the amount of £250 is a lot.
So during our stay in apartment, it wasn’t this 100% clean, expiry instant coffee, already open tea bag pocket, no snacks… just nothing.

Bathroom is dirty with mould on tiles. The bedroom light is weak. And weirdly, all room have blinds but the beaded pull cords had been removed, it wasn’t fully cover all windows, mean people in other flat can see through or possibly spying.

I felt like what if the host deliberately remove it so they will not refund back my £250 due I ‘broke the beaded pull cord’. The host have plenty of time to fix it for our privacy cos we felt so exposed in bedroom. This is vicious plot!

When we going out for night and come back, we all smelled like someone had been smoking cigarettes in room, that make us feel uncomfortable cos I read reviews that this host can out of blue accuse you that you been smoking weeds so they can steal £250, hmmmm… They will doing anything deliberately to profit more for themselves

And I clearly see the pattern what they doing. They said they did refund but it never arrive in my card after 2 weeks, back and forth on chat online they do not want do anything but have an audacity tell me to report to fraud department!

Hello,

Thank you for taking your time to leave us feedback.

Although we appreciate your time, we completely refute your claims. The matter of fact was that you completely ignored the fine print or the terms and conditions which clearly stated that we require a damage deposit of £250 from our guests before the check-in. This deposit is returned to the guests after the check out if the property given left in acceptable state as per our terms and conditions.

We have a duty of care towards the listings under our management and we owe this care to our clients for whom we manage the properties. Just because you did not read the terms and conditions at the time of the booking does not mean we will make an exemption for you to exclude you from paying a deposit. As a gesture of goodwill, we also offered to cancel your booking free of charge if you did want to pay a deposit but we will never waive the deposit fee. However, you decided to stay and pay the deposit fee.

We always advice our guests to give around 10-14 days before they check the return of their deposit. After this period, we send you a confirmation of release and after this, it is between you and your bank to trace the payment as all banking systems vary and we will never know how long EXACTLY it will take for your money to appear back in your account.
We will of course assist your bank in tracing the payment should we require to.

If I can suggest something for the future:
1. Please do not book anything in the future without reading and understanding the terms and conditions on the booking platform.
2. Please be respectful to the Guest Experience employees of the company when you are disputing your incompetence as they are not the once who have set these rules.
3. Please do not leave these type of reviews based on your own mistakes as they are untrue.

I hope this sheds some further light on the situation for you. If you require any further assistance, please contact us and we will be delighted to assist.

Thank you.

The Management Team

Lovely stay in east Glasgow

My family and I had a lovely stay at Edwina’s flat in East Glasgow. It’s conveniently located steps away from the beautiful Glasgow Green park and a 15 minute walk to the city center. The flat is very comfortable and stocked with plenty of towels and essentials including coffee/tea, and bathroom products. We would happily stay here again on a return trip to Glasgow!

Good luck getting refunds

As a guest at one of their serviced apartments as part of their conditions i paid the requested damage fee of £250 which was to cover any costs for any damage that may occur during stay in said apartment. Agreement is that once stay at apartment has been completed and it has been confirmed that no damage was caused that i the customer would receive a full refund of £250. Despite payment being sent on 10/11 and having sent several emails i am still awaiting a reply to my emails and my refund. Clearly totally unprofessional way to run a business and i will we surprised if Spothost actually bother to reply to this review based on my past experience with them.

Hi Stephen,

Thank for your feedback. We have looked into your case after your review and can confirm your deposit payment was released from our system. When customers make bookings for our properties, they are advised at the time of booking that although the deposit is released from our system when they check out (provided all is fine), the time it takes to lands back into the card or bank varies. The average time is 10-15 working days but it can take longer but we have no control over this, unfortunately. When the deposit is released from our system, the customer is notified by an email and you would also have this email from our payment provider.

I hope this sheds some light on how the payment\deposit system works but if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you,
SpotHost Management.

Perfect base for trips out of town and visiting the city

:) Accessible location, excellent parking, lovely apartment with lots of space and facilities. We decided to stay in and cancelled restaurants as we loved the chilled feeling of being there, a can and cosy place. Very clean and generally well kept. Excellent communications. Did not bump up prices during COP26!
:( Could sleep four (we were two) but not enough crockery and cutlery for four. No tea towels.

To summarise, I cannot praise Spothost highly enough and would recommend them to anyone looking to let their flat out.

SpotHost is a unique experience

Big thanks to the managing host, Aaron, from SpotHost, who reached us where our car broke down, to hand the keys and was very friendly offering us extra help and assistance in getting to the place. I can’t expect that a hotel stay would offer me the same sense of help. Once we reached the place he explained everything thoroughly. This experience was unique for me bcz having a host from SpotHost, I believe, had lessened the effect of what we’d gone through. I think it’s important for hosts to deal with SpotHost!
