An utter disgrace

An utter disgrace.
My elderly father in law who has both Parkinson's and dementia needs assistance with his daily needs, his wife covers most of this but also has early onset dementia aswell as arthritis, so we applied for funding to get him out the house at a day care a couple days a week. After the initial meeting we was advised he can attend the day care while the funding request being reviewed. They've now decided as he gets a pension of over 140 a week he earns too much and also sent through a bill for the days used of over £600 stating it needs to be paid within 28 days before they will send debt collectors round. I don't know how they expect a pension to arrange this kind of money and are charging him for something he was advised to use. Sickening behaviour. Best part is we were even told by the assessor if he'd spent his life on the dole instead of working it he'd have got it. Pitiful.

Utterly disgusting organisation

Utterly shambolic organisation. People travel from every corner of the Midlands to find a bit of headspace at the legendary Peak District Roaches, pumping millions into local pubs and shops every year. But here’s the reality: Staffordshire County Council would rather fleece you than welcome you.

WARNING: To anyone heading for a walk—watch your back. This lot stealthily deploy vans into the middle of nowhere, sending wardens out to slap 'bogus' fines on cars parked perfectly safely in the so-called 'free' countryside. I watched in horror as an attendant marched through Upper Hulme, hitting car after car that caused zero obstruction. There aren't even houses there to block.

It’s a greedy, short-sighted way to treat visitors. To top it off, their website is a glitchy mess, making it near-impossible to even pay these predatory charges. If the goal was to ensure tourists never come back and ruin an idyllic, stress-busting walk, then well done, Staffordshire CC—you’ve succeeded spectacularly.

Totally disappointed in this council

Totally disappointed in this council .
A empty property in Codsall been board up for year , want to try and rent to start a community youth project. Was told after numerous attempts that it didn't belong to South Staffs council, but belong to Staffordshire Council.
After loads of emails and phone calls was told it wasnt there building. Although the land Registry said it was , so after about 3 year of trying give up on it,
Thats at least 3 year rent your council lost but they say they have got no money.
Now South staffs council are planning to demolish a perfectly good building. That they have been say for years its not there's. What a waste of of a building, and if you pay council tax to them what a waste of your money.
Ps i have dyslexia please forgive the poor grammar.

Crazy

Lol road crumbling, storm drains blocked, but guess what they sent line painters up the street who swept all the crap out the gutter onto the pavements so they could repaint the lines in the rain, you don't lay new lines in the rain it doesn't take and lifts. And painting lines on a street that never has wardens is pointless what you enforcing, absolute joke.

What a stupid idea with the green bin…

What a stupid idea with the green bin have you gone mad or something? It’s wasting money many you could spend on doing the roads left not just giving people green. Stupid little bins. Is it for me to have a poo? You really need to shake that council up if I’m honest, the person in charge or runs it needs to get the sack because he hasn’t got a clue what he’s talking about and stupid little green bin. What come and take it back cause I’m not be using it. I’m not paying council tax for the stupid little green bin.

Outstanding service

I have spoken to a few departments in the council as a new resident and can find no fault with staff or waste operatives. I have been shown good manners, patience, understanding, support and truly fabulous speed in carrying out the agreed services. I rang this morning to thank the staff - praise where praise is due. If more of us did this simple thing, life and work would be far more pleasant and less pressurised for the staff doing their tasks. A massive thank you to Helen & Sarah in Waste Services.

No notice road closure - again

Hazelwood Road is the only access road to 15 different houses in our deeply rural Staffordshire area. There are no other roads. It is a single lane road. There are no other roads. No other lanes. No tracks. There are no 'alternative routes'. No diversions can exist. No public transport - this road is the only way we can get in and out. This road is our only access to the nearest town of Leek and nearest shop 6 miles away, the nearest station 7 miles away, and the nearest schools. The tarmac gang from Staffordshire Council Highways turned up yesterday (second time this year...) having given NO NOTICE again whatsoever to the us and our fellow 50+ residents trapped in their homes. Stafford Council deny the road is closed every day, and insist it's open. In fact they shouted at a trapped neighbour last time we had the temerity to complain. The Council person would know of course, being 1 hour/33 miles away in an office in an urban centre. Perhaps they expect us to drive through the wet tarmac filling our single-lane country road from side to side? Or get in our private helicopters and fly out? Apart from hugely inconveniencing us (and heaven help anyone who needs any of the emergency services...) we host a large self-catering property next door. If our holiday let guests can't get to their wedding tomorrow, or demand a refund, or give us a bad review we will reward Staffordshire's arrogant, high-handed behaviour with a County Court Judgement claim for damages.

INEPTITUDE PERSONIFIED

I really couldn't set the bar too low in my expectation of Staffordshire County Council Highways Department having witnessed the sheer incompetence first hand. Today I realised the bar was stiil too high (which I thought impossibe). Having and urgent appointment at North Staffs Hospital and living in the roadworks aka Stafford I allowed extra time to get there. I reached the monkey forest roundabout to find the road closed. It would have been reasonable to expect warning signs on the approach to Darlaston island roundabout but no, not in Staffordshire. I only just made my appointment NO THANKS TO THE CLOWN SHOW SUPPOSEDLY IN CHARGE OF OUR ROADS. Staffordshire County Council Hiways departmrnt are ineptitude personified

In
Turmoil
Having damaged our car through hitting one of the many huge potholes on my wife’s journey to work, we made a claim online. It took over an hour to complete the application form. We discovered that you have to submit an online notice to inform them of the pothole in and obtain a reference number to be included in the application for damages. I also had to drive back to the scene of the damage to photograph the pothole. En route to photographing the pothole, I found a traffic cone in a hedge row, so took it and put it in the hole to warn other drivers. Having completed both the notification of the pothole and claim will photographs, I had spent in the region of 3 hours. I then received a questionnaire from Zurich Insurance asking all of the same questions. Two months later I had heard nothing. During this two months, the pothole had been filled and has degraded to being a pothole again. I contacted Zurich to ask why I had heard nothing. They responded by telling me that they were waiting to hear from Staffordshire County Council. After almost 4 months, Zurich came back to me to say that they would not be paying for the repairs to our car because Staffordshire County Council had not failed in their duty to repair the road because the pothole had been reported before it had damaged our car but had not been able to repair it because it was full of water and a traffic cone. It seems that the traffic cone had traveled through time and was present before my wife hit the pothole???
I have a duty of care to maintain my cars and ensure that they are safe for the road, if I discover that the brakes don’t work or the tyres are bald, would it be acceptable to continue using the vehicles so long as the repair work is scheduled?

Conduct of the council tax department staffs moorlands

I have enquired and researched some damaging experiences by this council tax department. Having an experience of what I call lower end of the spectrum as these people are not professionals by conduct of speech and poor understanding. Significant behavior when raised as a complaint 2017 of intimidation recorded. I have contact panorama to share my experiences and recording. And the duration of a complaint that was brushed away

Corruption, racism and perverting of justice

Staffordshire police in special measures, ofsted ignores corruption and says Staffordshire social care inadequate . Allegations and warnings of police, local authority and judicial racism and perverting of justice are labelled vexatious and ignored- leading to vulnerable children being placed in the care of a family with a criminal record for premeditated assault with a spanner ( with attempts by the barristers to withhold vital safeguarding information and psychological assessments) and this leads to further unsafe convictions and the perverting of justice, especially towards whistleblowers , Asian and Black community members . All Staffordshire MPs, Nspcc , Cafcass
and Lord chancellor and Secretary of state for justice Rt. Hon Chalk KC MP and lady chief justice Baroness Carr aware and still the lack of accountability and transparency remains with cover up and criminal conspiracy at the highest levels of Staffordshire governance and royal courts of justice.

Appalling communication

Staffordshire County Council what on earth is going on? We haven't had any internet since 13.12.23. Open reach requested permission to dig up the road, asking for a date of 22.12.23. Staffordshire County Council told them the work couldn't be completed until 17.01.24. I called the council on 22.12.23 and twice on 05.01.24 trying to speak to someone in the highways department. I was told to email- WITH NO WIFI!!! There are no available phone numbers to actually speak to someone. On both occasions I was told that the customer services operator would email on my behalf, I left my number and email address but have heard nothing. We work from home and this is causing us major issues. I have been told that South Staffordshire Council offices also lost internet on 13th December but it was reinstated that afternoon. So how can it be possible for the council to be reinstated but not the 77 affected homes? Trying to get answers is a nightmare, obviously not any where near on the same scale but I completely admire Alan Bates, who was so instrumental in raising awareness and fighting for those affected by the post office scandal- closed doors and an impossibility to actually speak to anyone who can help are unacceptably frustrating.

A RIDICULUOUS DEPARTMENT

Having tried for many months to get not only a reply that makes sense but someone to own a form of responsibility, I despare.
Knowing the process, someone gave the authority to divert all the M6 traffic off due to roadworks from J14 straight into the major A34 roadworks with reduced lanes to one.
What idiot would even think of giving such an instruction.
I have had replies from the very difficult to get hold of Highways department, but none of them have been relevant.
Unfortunately I can only assume that these ridiculous decisions will be continuously taken by a body that just seems not to care at all regarding - common sense, customer service, communication or logic.
What hope have we got.
But they want their money from us all via Council Tax for highway maintenance and control.
What a joke.
I await the promised response . . . . . .

i have spent my time today in reporting…

i have spent my time today in reporting a fallen tree after a major storm,
the fallen tree was blocking a major footpath which meant no access for wheelchairs etc,

i got the usual non interested representative on my call to report the issue,
they could not tell me when or if the tree would be removed any time soon, today ? tomorrow,? next week ? i expect they will send a man out wearing a suit just to confirm the tree has actually fallen down ?
it really is like pulling teeth when reporting issues to the County Council,
they appear more interested in getting my own personal details than the details of the actual problem you first called about,

it really makes you want to contact them again to report issues you may come across,

i will not bother nest time !!
