You'll see a set of info you'd like and be told you need an account to view and are given the option of a free account. The free account however seems to give you nothing and practically every single feature is locked.
An aggressive form to get you to pay an eye watering £1908 to view statistics that are by and large free on the internet or via AI results. with a THREE MONTH cancellation renewal period!!! Never heard of anything as aggressive as that, it takes minutes to cancel a renewal in most trades.

Dying company. AI rendering it obsolete.
Tricky and unethical tactics to charge customers.
It’s sad that Statista services, which is online and can be switched off, is not viable enough to turn off when customers don’t renew.
Then the company turns around saying you owe them and must pay otherwise we will take you to court.

The service is terrible, you can almost get the same result asking ChatGPT, Claude or even Grok. Do not buy this. I work as a consultant for M&A firms and this product is nowhere what you expect it to be.
Also they don't oblige by the consumer rights in Europe, so they can literally sell your data and not care about you. Here's what I got from them:
Statista does not sell any business-to-consumer products; we are solely business-to-business so the UK consumer protection rules do not apply to the purchase of our products and the 14 day cooling off period does not apply to us.
In order to use the Statista products, you need to confirm that you are purchasing on behalf of a company or business. You waived the consumer rights when you ticked the box confirming that you were purchasing the Starter Account as a company or business. Attached the screenshot.

Done surveys but no points given. Cheating!
Saying what surveys I'd done and expect any points? U think we are cheapos who did your surveys and shouldn't expect any points? Then U shouldn't be that cheapskate to expect any free lunches. R'ship need give n take not take only. It's a lose-win, and u losing more!

We canceled our Statista subscription in February 2024 via their platform and documented the cancellation internally. Despite this, we continued to be charged $59/month through March 2026 — totaling over $1,400 in unauthorized charges.
Since March 26, we’ve made multiple attempts to contact support to resolve this issue and request a refund. We have not received a single response.
To make matters worse, the account management experience is extremely poor. The cancellation link in the customer portal was non-functional, and we ultimately had to rely on their team to cancel the account manually — again, with no confirmation or follow-up. Billing visibility is also limited, making it difficult to track charges or access full invoice history.
At this point, we’ve had to escalate the issue through our payment provider due to the complete lack of response.
This experience reflects serious issues with Statista’s billing practices, customer support, and overall platform reliability. I would strongly caution others to closely monitor charges and ensure cancellations are fully confirmed.

Made an account to try and access the data. Made said account and then still couldn't access it. You need to pay $200 to access even just 1 survey which is pretty ridiculous pricing.

Hit or miss quality data - depending on research topic. Sometimes questionable credibility, sometimes something worthy of a reference. But absolutely predatory cancellation policies, awful communication and lack of flexibility - they catch you with a small print like an insurance company. Pricing is absolutely ridiculous. I should probably post this on LinkedIn. Fire your CXO!

The statistics are helpful but their cancellation process and customer service is predatory I would not suggest using this service at all

I tried to use this service to get a fairly basic statistical table. When I clicked on it, I was invited to sign up for a free account. I did that, answering questions etc. When I had jumped through all of the hoops, I learned that the table I wanted actually required a pay account. I can't help but think that I was knowingly tricked.

Poor statistical database, expensive and very hard to cancel the subscription

200 euros for a subscription is crazy

I had issues accessing the site, which was cause by a client side issue. Support was helpful and friendly.
Also a fan of the data, I use Statista data in my research and for papers, plans and other writings to support opinions or to support decision making.

It's all about the Auto Renew. They don't auto renew you on the anniversary of subscriptions they do it 3 months in advance. Of course they put this in their contracts, but they conveniently never mention it and don't contact you at at the time and advise you they are doing it. Simply they write to you at the anniversary with words to the effect 'since you didn't cancel you're back subscribed and there is nothing you can do about it, check your T&Cs. I paraphrase but that is the sentiment. It might be legal but it is not best practice. In fact it is very low integrity. Anyway you a win customer for a year or two who thereafter will never renew and will tell all their colleagues and contemporaries not to do so.

Be careful! Watch out! Signed up for a month and they flipped it to a year contract and then excused their actions by pointing to small lettering. Dishonest, fraudulent. When I didn't use their website and demanded payment returned they said they don't cancel. I can only repeat what others have said on this reviewer site: AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.

Reply from Statista
Terrible. Watch out for their contracts. That is basically scam what they do. To cancel yearly subscription you need to let them know few months in advance even when you do not use it at all.
Your contract terminates and basically you cannot cancel it and they extend it for a year to come.
No negotiation nor anything. Fully terrible experience.
