3 Day stay in Feb 2026

This hotel is the perfect setting to visit the pyramids and the new Egyptian museum. It is very well run, the staff are all personable, and the rooms spacious and the food delicious ( wide selection of international cuisine).
We ( family of 4 -including 2 teenage daughters) stayed in this hotel as part of our Egyptian holiday during the Feb 2026 half term with Classic holiday company.
We want to give a BIG thank yo to the Guest relation lady - Caroline - who helped us when our Orange mobile SIM was not working( he tried her best to get it working for us.....and we later found out Orange had an issue with it anyway!! She not only arranged a taxi for us to get to the Cairo tower, but also helped us when we go stuck there - and helped arrange a taxi to take us back to the hotel. Thank you to too the chefs - food was excellent ...and the entire team - you all work very hard and we appreciate it - you made our holiday.

Extremely unsafe stay and poor handling of complaints at Steigenberger Resort Ras Soma, Hurghada, Egypt

I stayed at Steigenberger Resort Ras Soma (Hurghada, Egypt) in November 2025, and my experience was deeply troubling.
During my stay, I became seriously unwell with symptoms consistent with food poisoning after eating at the Italian restaurant. Despite being ill and vulnerable, I was not offered any on-site medical assessment, which is concerning for a resort of this size.
At the same time, a close friend was injured when a terrace chair collapsed beneath them, causing a head injury. The chair was visibly broken, and management’s claim that it had “no defects” does not match what we observed. This raises serious concerns about guest safety and the resort’s maintenance practices.
After returning home, I raised my concerns with senior management. Their responses repeatedly included statements that did not reflect what actually happened during our stay, including references to medical care and events that never occurred. Despite correcting the record, the same inaccurate explanations were repeated, leaving me feeling dismissed and unsupported.
This experience went far beyond a disappointing holiday. Unsafe conditions, combined with poor complaint handling, highlight a worrying lack of accountability. I strongly caution anyone considering Steigenberger Resort Ras Soma to carefully review their options and think twice before booking.

Steigenberger Achati Luxor

My dream has come true! The receptionist at this hotel were amazing, especially Ola and Magda, they changed our room to a Nile view, and made our 70th birthday treat come true. Hotel clean, friendly staff, run efficiently, the bar staff are so helpful and the Egyptian restaurant a delight.

Area manager

I had an excellent experience with Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts. From start to finish, everything was very well organised and handled with a high level of professionalism. The standards were extremely high, and it was clear that great attention is paid to detail, quality, and customer experience.

The team were supportive, approachable, and very well managed. Communication was clear, and the overall environment reflected strong leadership and commitment to excellence. It is refreshing to see such consistency and professionalism maintained throughout.

I would highly recommend Steigenberger Hotels and Resorts and would be very happy to work with or visit again in the future.

I have visible and non-visible…

I have visible and non-visible disabilities and I visited this hotel 16th March to 15th April 2025.
I changed room 3 times becuse of the following:
1. Bed base collapsed
2.Leaking bathroom sink and faulty door closure (door kept opening on its own even when security lock was on)
3) The phone in bungalow didn't work, switches on the wall in the room didn't work
There were no towel rack for the shower and no where to hang a dressing gown
4. Main door opens every time the balcony door is opened even with security lock
Unfortunately I also had dietary requirements which were flagged as soon as I booked. They were accommodating but on several occasion they put milk in my smoothie even though it was flagged as an allergy on numerous occasions.
I'm also asthmatic and had an attack because they were painting in the he hotel when it was fuily occupied Finally a complimentary marine tour was advertised when I made the booking and when the confirmation was sent it disappeared!
There are not gardens view bungalows just sea view or car parking view!
The hotel needs to be renovated and is at best a 3 star hotel !
I only used housekeeping Wednesday and Sundays and it was extremely poor .
The towels were very old so I used my muslim cloth for my body and tissue for my hands.
To date this is my most disappointing trip in 27 years.

Not a 'Royale' expereince

We had a trip on the Nile on the Steigenberger boat Royale, which wasn't exactly 'royal'. The rooms were dirty, old and broken which really ruined the trip for us. I ended up having to upgrade the room to a suite at an extortionate price just to provide a better experience for my family. The pool and pool area were also in serious need of renovation. Non-existence internet or TV signal (which was ok for me to be honest, but still) and even in the upgraded suite we had a cockroach, and the shower blocked 3 times in 7 nights.

I would say on a positive note, the staff were very good (if a little too much at times) and the food were varied, tasty and well presented. The communal areas were also clean and well furnished.

Steigenberger Alcazar

The hotel and grounds were immaculate.
My only concern was the food. I can't fault the choices, in general, but, it didn't really cater for British tourists.
I don't like Asian/Arabic food, so I didn't have a lot to choose from. If you like this type of food, then you are sorted.
The staff, were so helpful, in all areas, I couldn't praise them high enough.
Nataly, from customer services, was a gem, she went out of her way to accommodate the guests, from their complaints to general needs.

Steigenberger Alcazar can't believe the good reviews

We stayed at the Steigenberger Alcazar along with another couple 11th-25th April our room 2131 and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. I must add we have been visiting Egypt twice a year for 18 years staying at 5x accommodations and cheap and cheerful 4x hotels. My reviews always reflect value for money.
Steigenberger are a premium brand hotel chain that charge premium prices.
The rooms are good and the grounds very pretty but little else left us with a positive memory.
We arrived about 5 days before the end of the Eid celebration. Many local families where here in groups of up to 12 people. On our first morning we went to breakfast, the dining area was a shambles. Empty tables and the floor were full of discarded food, we stood for several minutes asking for the table to be cleared. Soiled table mats just had the remnants of food wiped from them with a cloth and reset not replaced, the tables also got a very poor wipe over. The quality of the food was not good with a lot of servings dishes empty. I asked one of the supervisors why this was happening, I didn’t get a proper response.
When finally a waiter ask what we wanted to drink we waited 15 minutes for him to return with our order.
After breakfast we went to the adults pool to find almost all the loungers covered in towels, we asked the pool service men what was going on and were told people were at breakfast.
2 hours later the majority of these beds still had not been claimed so I asked the staff to remove the items. Notices are clearly shown around the pool that if no one uses a bed within 1 hour of towels/ items being placed on them then the items will be removed so other guests can use the beds, this did not happen. After a couple of days of nothing changing we moved to the pool near the main building. This pool was cold but plenty of room the drawback being the lack of pool service for drinks, maybe a guy would walk round twice a day. In the end it was easier to go to the other pool and get your own drinks.
During the day a P.R. lady walk around asking for feedback on the hotel, we told her our concerns. We were told they had no food and beverages manager at this time, a new man was due to start in about a week. The hotel is usually 40% occupancy and is staffed for this, due to Eid they were about 70% full. I asked how you could expect the staff to deal with nearly double the amount of guests, she said this was up to the manager. The standard answer to a complaint was to say we will send a complimentary bottle of wine to your room, 2 days later we spoke to the P R lady again she asked did we enjoy our wine I told her it never came, the next day it arrived.
The evening service at the buffet restaurant was no better, again empty tables with used plates not cleared away and many food dishes options were empty, I asked one of the supervisors about this and was told sorry we are very busy. The next morning I booked for our friends and ourselves 4 nights at the speciality restaurants. On arriving a waiter gave us a menu and within a couple of minutes came to take our food order. As the menus have 5 pages I asked for a little longer, but ordered drinks. 5 minutes later he returned to take orders but forgot the drinks, food took 20 minutes to arrive and wasn’t very good, this was the pattern for the other restaurants except the Lebanese restaurant. The food was a little better and the staff were more attentive.
After our meal we sat outside on the terrace of the main bar, again very poorly staffed when a waiter finally took our order you could wait 15 minutes for him to return with the drinks often I got fed up of waiting and went to the bar myself.
Several times our room was not cleaned by 4.30 one night at 5.30 I had to find the room block supervisor to show him once again the room had not been done. Also told him we had to keep asking every day for the mini bar and tea coffee to be replenished. He telephoned our room cleaner who came within a few minutes. The poor guy looked exhausted and nearly in tears, he said our block had a large number of rooms check out that day and he is told to do those rooms first which take much longer to clean.
I found the supervisor again and asked why the management knowing certain blocks having a large change over of guest in a day why didn’t they have floating cleaners that could come and help clean these rooms, again he said this is down to management. Why should guests be inconvenienced due to bad staff planing, again I do not blame the staff but management!
Our 2 week stay was far from good considering the name Steigenberger have.
October we are going back to Egypt staying a week at a 4x hotel we have used before, I am confident the food and staffing levels will be better than we experienced here.
Followed by 2 weeks at a 5x hotel we have used many times again the experience will be far superior to what we experienced at the Steigenberger.

unworthy treatment by Steigenberger Herrenhof Vienna

I have made a reservation in the Steigenberger Herrenhof Vienna for a junior suite 6 months ago for a stay during ECR 24. I have been a regular customer for at least a decade, but -yes- a small single customer... got a phone call that I was downgraded to a de luxe room because someone had taken the entire floor of suites. Clearly Steigenberger is chosing for big money -oildollars - oligarch or whatever. Shame on Steigenberger, the only thing that counts is big money. Forget all the words and add of feeling you at home etc ...

Rippoff - overcharged

I stayed with my daughter at the Steigenberger Hotel Frankfurter Hof in Frankfurt over the first December weekend. At check-in 2 deposits were wrongly taken from my credit card. One was released the day after our departure the second one I have not received to-date! After several emails and calls I found out the Hotel's deposit procedure is handled by another company, was told by a rude receptionist that the Hotel cannot do anything else other than write an email to this company, there is no complaints procedure other than talking to the same receptionist that handles calls and there is no Manager on duty to escalate bad service to. I think this is not what I would have expected from a 5 star Hotel. Surely, one could expect every business to have an independent complaints procedure. I must therefore assume feed-back is not important to the Steigenberger Hotels. That might also explain why none of the posts here have got a response and the complaints here are sent to an "info" email address only. Any advice how to get my money back is appreciated.

Milking travelers? - yes!

Dear Hotel Management,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration regarding my recent experience at your hotel. As a seasoned traveler who has frequented numerous hotels worldwide, my recent stay at your establishment has left me with a bitter taste.

Upon arrival, I was met with a situation that I have never encountered in my travels. Despite the availability of rooms and my arrival only two hours before the standard check-in time, I was informed that I would be required to pay a 50 euro fee to check in early. This policy baffled and upset me, especially given the circumstances.

It was evident that I was just one of a few guests who had arrived early and were patiently waiting for our rooms. The hotel staff, aware of our presence, refused to accommodate us, leaving me feeling like an inconvenience rather than a valued guest.

What perplexes me is the lack of empathy and understanding from your staff. Instead of making our wait comfortable, they chose to uphold a rigid policy that seems to serve no purpose other than to extract additional fees. It feels as though the hotel is intentionally making guests wait, almost to prove a point.

Having stayed in numerous airport hotels around the world, I can confidently say that this experience stands out as one of the most disappointing. Other reputable establishments have shown a much higher level of customer service, accommodating guests when rooms are available.

I believe that a hotel’s reputation is built not only on the quality of its facilities but also on the treatment of its guests. In this regard, your hotel has fallen far short of my expectations. I strongly urge you to reconsider your early check-in policy and train your staff to be more empathetic to guests’ needs.

I hope my feedback prompts positive changes and leads to a more pleasant experience for future guests. By listening to customer concerns, you can elevate your service and make your hotel a truly exceptional destination.

Sincerely,

scammed for room

had the worst experience in Hurgada booked suite room ( reception area and bedroom) given only bedroom and they said that's it. when i went down to reception again they said (unhappy) the receptionist made mistake and they had to open the extension which is supposed to be reception but it turn to be double room . hotel manager didn't find solution for that and instead send his deputy to offer another room as solution which is actually turned to be lower grade than the suite i booked for - not to mention the spa receptionist was so rude dealing with us . that happened last year earlier months - tried to contact the headquarters as well but no response . never again in such group hotels

We have throughly enjoyed our stay

We have throughly enjoyed our stay. The staff could not be more helpful and our room is superb. We dined in the restaurant and the food was amazing as were the staff. It was heartening to learn that they support trainee chefs who are delightful. Thank you for making our stay special Sarah and Michele

We stayed at the Steigenberger pyramid…

We stayed at the Steigenberger pyramid hotel in Cairo for a few nights and found the hotel experience unforgettable … firstly the view was amazing of the pyramids, rooms were clean and food at meal time very good.
Some of the staff at times were helpful while some were cold and unhelpful towards British , especially while their native visitors wanted their service.

The pool was nice but what we didn’t realise the neighbouring pyramids hotel could use it too . Odd , especially when they had their own.
The hotel is good but needs updating in places.

The ending is not good though … we had a visitor at some point into our room and took 2 items of Mens clothing. The room door locks itself after leaving so a staff member with a card key entered and stole the items.. management at the hotel and HQ denied the staff were thief’s but someone in their staff is guilty.. in 20 years of travelling around the world have we had this happen befor. Steigenberger will never have our pleasure ever again

Steigenberger Pyramids

Hotel is a bit tired but the main pool with a swim-to bar is fun. Staff were well trained and a requested late departure was handled without fuss or extra charge.
Directly opposite the new Egyptian Museum this hotel has the potential to be a great hotel but currently by international standards just a 3*

I have checked in to this hotel at…

I have checked in to this hotel at steigenberger aqua magic hotel in hurghada with my partner on monday 06th on December this hotel is really shocking and disgusting they gave me a dirty disgusting room and it was a covid risk everything was dirty from oily hands prints on doors walls and bed was dirty and very small not enough for one person there was no basic room amenities like slippers or robe remmber this is classified as a 5 star hotel in fact THIS HOTEL IS Maximum a 2-3 star specially the room standards it is soooo out dated ,old and so basic that you assume you are in a 2 star hotel , i have complained to them and no action was done until next day that they have changed the room to a better cleaner and more standard hygienic one so i have wasted my first night and money for the first night as I wanted to leave the hotel on the same night , but then had too many family with kids screaming every morning from 7am so it wasn’t pleasant at all and the hotel done nothing about it , if you are a couple avoid this hotel so many families with kids screaming around in the hotel restaurant , lobby and within the room walkways , another issue i had i went to get a drink from the bar and one of their animation team harassed my partner on the beach and I reported to them they said they will sack him but nothing was done about it this hotel , bare in mind this hotel
Is not a cheap its over a £100 a night and they class themselves as a top hotel, in addition We have booked the full spa package when we arrived and started our session they asked us to take a shower the shower was stinky and disgusting and not hygienic then went to the steam room and it was disgusting and not hygienic at all i was scared in this hotel to catch covid it was very likely that i could catch it , the mask was terrible and the whole experience was 1/10 maximum so avoid spa at all cost if you wanna expect a 5 star spa service ,
The food in the dinner buffet is disgusting and no varieties at all iam a chef myself and what i have seen and tried was terrible we were surviving every night on rice and vegetables even though iam not a vegetarian as I didn’t wanna take a risk as the food horrible and service were bad and over crowded and the only food is eatable in the hotel is at the italian Resturant thats all !!!!!
In addition on my check out day i had to pay for my golf hour session which is 40€ Then they added alcohol on my bill which i have explained that i haven’t seen any alcohol in my room or i have drunk any as I don’t drink alcohol at all after 15 mins argument they have wiped the alcohol then went on to do the 40€ payment tried 3 times on 2 different card machine terminals as they say 2 were declined but showing them by card statement on the app that i was charged twice in the same minute so after complaining the manager came and said he will deal with it and refund me one transaction as i was charged twice the same amount 1 day after the incident and still I haven’t got my refund back for one transaction this hotel looks dodgy to me by any means and I won’t trust them at all ! Iam gonna get the Egyption tourism police involved and report both issues with them today harassment and the charging scam they have i have all the photos and evidence to support my claim here the police take these scams seriously and they protect the tourists !!!! And surely i will never come back or even pass by it ! I have moved to another hotel 5 star I won’t name it now and its 100 times better and its for the same price and much higher standard trust me the new hotel which iam staying now is genuinely 100 times better !!!!and I regret soo much not leaving the hotel from the first day !!!!
It is my worst experience staying at a hotel ever
Don be fooled by the images they show you on the booking site the room reality is much much worst than that
Iam a genuine Traveler who travels frequently to many different destinations
They only look after their out door pool and garden which look nice but nothing else positive in this hotel to take unfortunately they have ruined our first holiday with my partner.
