Good to know
We understand that passengers come with luggage, so we won’t charge you any extra for yours. Car passengers can bring as much as they can fit into their vehicles. And foot passengers can bring as much as they can carry, so long as no single piece of luggage is over 23kg in weight. That makes packing a whole lot easier!

Your staff are second to none. They are professional, friendly and extremely helpful. I wouldn't travel with any other ferry company across the Irish sea

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding my recent 8-hour journey, for which I was charged £85.
The cabin provided measured only 3 square metres, which proved to be extremely cramped. To make matters worse, there was no air conditioning, leaving the space stuffy and claustrophobic. Unfortunately, we felt uncomfortable and suffocated throughout the entire duration of the trip.
When I contacted your customer service team in the middle of the night to raise these concerns, I was informed that nothing could be done to assist us as there was only provision for heating it and no cooling. This response was deeply disappointing, as we had hoped for at least some alternative solution or guidance.
Given that the conditions were genuinely unacceptable and the service provided fell far below a reasonable standard, I respectfully but firmly request a full refund of the £85 fare.
I trust that you will take this matter seriously and look forward to your prompt response.

I’m giving Stena Line 3 stars based on my experience.
Firstly, at the Liverpool terminal, there is no conveyor belt for loading baggage like there is at the Belfast terminal. Passengers have to load their luggage into the baggage vehicle themselves. There was also no staff member at the loading area to organise or assist with this. Because everyone was placing their bags wherever they could, the luggage was not loaded in an organised manner, making it difficult for others to find space and load their bags.
Secondly, I was disappointed with the food on board. The overall quality was not very good and could definitely be improved.
Apart from these issues, the overall journey was okay, but improving the baggage handling process at Liverpool and the quality of the food would make the experience much better.

Check in and boarding with a car, 2 passengers and our Shih Tzu Bailey was easy. Pet cabin was spacious and spotless. Beds were comfortable although it was only @ 3 hours smooth crossing. Easy disembark also. Food was OK but pricey for the quality. Would definitely use this Ferry and Route if going to Ireland 😎👍

The ferry left Cairnryan on time and we had a comfortable crossing

Lovely clean boat. We stayed in the Barista bar and while the surroundings were pleasant and facilities were good the seats were very uncomfortable.

The whole process was so slick. From booking, to parking, to checking in. So slick. Smooth and comfortable journey out, really friendly and helpful staff. The boat was clean and tidy. Disembarkment good, friendly bus driver . All good. The same on the way home but a bigger and busier boat. Again slick service, friendly helpful staff, really good food. I cannot fault anything at all. Excellent service, well done x

The ferry and the crossing were perfect, nothing to complain about here. The prices of food etc. on board is nothing short of robbery, you expect this, but why? The actual cost of the sailing was fair though.

The breakfast on the Stena Adventurer was cold despite ordering immediately on boarding. There were no eggs available and the price wasn’t discounted to take this into account. The latte was poor. It would have been helpful to be provided with a link to the TFI Leap visitor card as our group were unaware that buses did not accept card payments or notes, couns only or the Leap card. This resulted in several of our group almost missing the ferry back. Yes, we should have done further research before we went but it would be simple for Stena to add a link in the booking confirmation of tips on getting around. The Estrid on the way back was good, although the tea/coffee machine was not working in the departure lounge. The food in the restaurant was good with generous portions and after my bad coffee experience in the morning I stuck to tea with fresh milk, which was great. Several members of our large group were also confused about where to park and signage wasn’t clear. The sailing to and from Dublin was timely and smooth.
