BEWARE, this company will take advantage of your business, DO NOT EVER USE THIS COMPANY, they hide crucial information in their contract to auto-renew for 5 YEARS, and they make it impossible to cancel, even though they have a customer service number, they will not help you cancel, you have to remember the date and cancel by making a written request, 3 months before, or they will renew it again for 5 MORE YEARS if you want to cancel you still have to pay for half of the contract, that is 2 1/2 years of service as punishment for closing your account, these people are crooks, thieves, and criminals!

DONT WORK WITH THEM!!!! Missed pickups they charged me for. The driver was so intimidating and pissy everyone became scared on pick up day. Customer service messed up every single interaction. I have spent hours of my life on the phone. They charged my card number plus times randomly cause it was on auto draw. Trying to cancel is insane. They broke their contract and expected me to still pay the remainder of the contract. Once that was figured out I demanded a refund for all the overages and they said I would get it in 24-48 hours. It’s been two months and they are still ignoring messages and stringing me along. I am 6 seconds from a law suit with these pieces of crap. I contacted the CEO over my treatment which was met with more silence. They are trash and should be shut down

I am utterly disappointed and frustrated with the service provided by Stericycle. As a healthcare provider, it is imperative that biomedical waste is handled promptly and responsibly. Unfortunately, Stericycle has failed miserably in this regard.
Despite my multiple calls to ensure the pickup of my biomedical waste, I experienced nothing but unfulfilled promises and a lack of urgency from their end. On my last call, I was assured that a representative was only 10 minutes away. I waited, relying on their word, but no one showed up.
This is not just a matter of poor customer service; it is a serious breach of trust and a potential health hazard. It is unacceptable for a company specializing in waste management to display such a lack of responsibility and disregard for their clients' needs.
I am left with no choice but to label Stericycle as the worst company I have dealt with in this sector. Their inability to provide the basic service they are obligated to offer is not only disappointing but also deeply concerning considering the nature of the waste involved.
I strongly advise others to consider alternative services who prioritize their customers' safety and satisfaction over empty promises.

Sneaked a 5-year contract term without telling. They miss pickup days, and they charge us extra for picking up extra boxes later.
Horrid company with incompetent staff
Upon signing up with them over the phone with the salesman in December of 2022, they have not once shown up to my business to collect biohazard waste. They repeatedly show up outside of our business hours and then continue to bill me. I try calling and stay on hold for around 2 hours before the call is dropped. Whenever I email them, I’m just ignored and receive a copy and paste “we know life gets tough, so pay us over $700” emails. I can’t get anyone at this company to communicate with me, they don’t render services they’re contracted for. Stay far far away. I have already filed a complaint with BBB and I have set up an appointment with a lawyer to see about the possibility of suing for breach of contract. Don’t do business with them.

The reviews for this company are real. Stay far away. Read your contract carefully. I had a month service contract for $135 - they charged me $135 to DELIVER the bins (no shred) plus $50 delivery fee. The charged me $170 when the driver couldn't make it out. They will charge you for everything and I literally had them pick up one small bin of shred and my bill was $500. I asked to cancel my account and they wanted to charge me $1600 for cancel of contract and another $170 just to pick up the bins. How is this company still in business. Avoid at all costs
The absolute worse
The absolute worse. First they assign me a salesrep who i could never get in touch with after the service agreement was signed. They were to call me when they were delivering the bin as no one is in the office. I come in a week later and then bin is in the office. So one week of not being used as the agreement was for 2 weeks. Then they charged me for the extra week which I had to fight to get credit for. I made arrangements for them to come pick up the bin and bring another. 3 times I called...3 different reference numbers to verify the dropoff. I come into the office today and was told they aren't coming because I need to pay the outstanding invoice. I just got the credit! and they never sent me an invoice. So i wasted my time and came in with no bin delivering. Once I pay this I am closing this account. University of Maryland will go elsewhere. Terrible

If I could give ZERO STARS I would! Worst customer service experience I have ever had. The first experience was when I called and spoke to someone over the phone on 5/2 to set up transferring services to a different location because we are moving and additional bins. The rep told me he was extremely confused and after 30 minutes, he provided me with two reference numbers. On Friday, I emailed to make sure they would show up with the bins the following Monday. The rep emailed stating they could not find the reference numbers and there was nothin scheduled. Heidi H did not provide me with any additional help and closed the ticket out.

Probably the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. Firstly I was mis-sold a service and then had to revert to social media to get anyone from the company to help me.
Nearly 2 months later and I’m still waiting for my refund. At every stage, incompetence has prevailed. This company is a shambles and they should be embarrassed.

Terrible company
This company has absolutely horrible customer service. They give you a quote, which is vague about what the actual charges are going to be, and then when you ask them to help you understand the charges they just ignore you. We had a scheduled appointment, which they missed and didn't tell us that they were not coming. It took nearly a week to find out that they rescheduled... without informing us. Then when you attempt to contact them, they don't even respond to emails. It became clear that the emails were received when I got an automated response from one of them that they were out of the office that day. The people working for and running this company do not care, and have no interest in retaining customers. This place is a total joke

Stericycle Shred It is a nightmare to deal with. The summer of 2021 they simply stopped showing up despite having a contract with them to pick up monthly. Hours were spent on the phone trying to reach a live person - only happened 1x in the 2 months that I called daily. We finally had to select another vendor, so I sent an email to cancel service. In October, they picked up the bin then proceeded to charge us for pick up of shred items for November. I thought the situation was resolved until this month when I received a notice that we were being sent to collections for the November pick up. I've emailed and called only, to now receive another email stating we owe the money (despite having invoices showing the bin was picked up prior to them showing up in November). Do not do business with Stericycle Shred It. Big regret.

As with many people on this platform, I have had very bad experience with Stericycle in the UK. Paid a monthly subscription for a whole year for a service to collect my sharps. Within that year I had one collection so decided to cancel my contract with them. They then wrote to me to say I owe them £21. Absolutely awful service and no integrity. They also get VERY poor rating as a company to work for on indeed so cannot see them being a success in the future if they dont "clean up" their act.

We are supposed to have a bin emptied every two weeks. This rarely actually happens.
For instance they may not turn up at all one month, then the next charge us extra weight the next month.
When you point this out someone will eventually agree that the 'extra weight' is actually what they should have collected the previous month, but it will then take another 6 months for the credit to appear on your account.
Incompetent - simply avoid.

They have been over billing for months…
They have been over billing for months for service we no longer have. You cannot reach customer service and the service guys are good but have no power or ability to forward issues. The account managers have no power either with customer service

This is the worst company , try to stay away from them. To cancel any contract they ripe you off. Bad services be carful they are scam. They don’t pick up their sharps.

Need to be able to give a negative amount of stars for this company. We have been trying to discontinue service for months now. Our bill has increased hundreds of dollars over the years for less service. We pay almost $900 per pick up. They created a second contract for a service we didn't need and now I am being told that there is still time on our contract and we owe $1500 to get rid of them basically. DO NOT contract with this company who overbills, makes it difficult to cancel service. They have 5 year contracts that just roll over and over without reaching out. They are a big corporation running over as many businesses as possible. Look for a locally run business that respects you as a customer. Looking like we need to get a lawyer involved.

This is a horrible company. Besides being incompetent they are thieves. They gave me another business invoices mixed in with mine. Two different states and far apart from each other.
I sent a payment and accidentally used the wrong invoice stub. I guess I should have known and not trusted that they can send a email correctly. But now I know they can’t.
And they credited the other company my payment. Ok so mistakes happen. So I thought they would fix it and credit it appropriately.

They refuse to fix it. So I paid another business account. And BTW they have not paid their account in months and months.
And they used my money to pay someone else’s bill.

THE WORST customer service. We have a contract and our bin NEVER gets emptied on schedule. I sit on hold for ONE HOUR every time I call. I've called 3 times this month to get our bin emptied and not once has anyone arrived when scheduled. The bin is still overflowing. Time to get a quote from the competition.
