When I placed my order with Stitchtastic, I was on vacation and did not pay attention to where it was located. I live in the US and upon returning home I had an email explaining that my order couldn't be filled because of the additional cost of tariffs. The tariff problem was very well explained and I paid the additional amount. My order was processed quickly and, sooner than I expected, it was delivered. I am so pleased with my experience with this company. My Crystal Art was in perfect condition.

Tariffs suck?!
When I first ordered and checked the shipping process nothing was posted about an additional potential payment for the product to be shipped the rest of the way to the USA. Not to mention, the cost to ship it the rest of the way shouldn't be more or the same as the cost of the product. Also from what I have researched the customs or shipping company you go through states that they don't send emails asking for money, and if you receive an email asking for payment then it is fake. The info about the who shipping ordeal wasn't posted on your site until way after my purchase was made.

Apologies for the misunderstanding over the trade tariffs/customs duty. We do state on our checkout page that orders may be subject to customs duties and that it is the customer who would be liable for these. With the removal of the De minimis threshold for the USA, duty now needs to be paid on all orders.
For most countries the national postal carrier would charge the customer directly on delivery for any customs due, but USPS are not able to do this so the tariffs must be charged and paid before the parcel is sent. The most reliable way we have found is for the customer to pay us the tariff and we would pass it on to the US government via Royal Mail.
We would have liked to be able to show the full cost including the duty on our checkout page at the time of your order (your order was placed in the first week of De minimis threshold removal), unfortunately with the very short notice provided of the De minimis threshold removal we had not been able to integrate tariff calculations into our website. We are trying very hard to implement this as soon as possible.
We only send international orders via a fully tracked service and the shipping charges reflect our costs for this, we try very hard to ensure that the rates are reasonable and reflect only the costs we incur from our couriers.

My go-to stitching shop. They do the basics very well. Great turn around time and never have any problems. Love that I can search for the thread i need by code. Quality is always great. When my friend started cross stitch I sent him straight to stitchtastic!
