Excellent service, high quality product.

I can’t recommend highly enough.

My only requirement for my new kitchen was that I wanted concrete worktops. Non of the large kitchen companies I went to could supply these, so I found Stonemade Ltd online and contacted them directly. They gave a very reasonable quote and as soon as we were ready they came to measure and template. The whole process from templating, to production, to delivery and fitting was completed in less than 2 weeks and the worktops are EXACTLY as I imagined them to be.

All the staff were very professional and helpful and did their best to supply the exact specifications that were requested, including the colour and texture of the work surfaces (which I gave a sample of from a photograph) They even made a few suggestions to make it look even better.

I have had nothing but compliments about my new worktop and would definitely recommend Stonemade Ltd.

Excellent Concrete Worktops

Excellent concrete worktops delivered very quickly and the team were easy to speak with. Measuring and installation was done without fuss and they came back to fix a problem caused by our measurements of our hob without any problem.

CONCRETE WORKTOPS -- READ AND BE AWARE

IF ITS QUALITY OF PRODUCT AND INSTALLATION THEN AVOID THIS COMPANY.

There are several similar sounding companies to STONEMADE who make concrete worktops and sinks. So that you know which one I am talking about this company's registered office is in Barking, Essex and their factory is in Nottingham.

After various quotes I contracted STONEMADE to supply two concrete worktops and a double sink. This is my story ...... so far.

The sinks they supplied were gross and completely the wrong colour. They had not been sanded and polished, the colour was virtually black when it should have been a mid-grey and was blotchy/patchy all over. They had mismatched drainer wastes ,in size and design, the waste water did not drain fully leaving a large area in the corner of the sink with waste water that was still there 12 hours later. The comment I got back from their director to this problem was that "his sink didn't drain properly either". In his eyes therefore that made it OK. OK to have stagnant waste, possibly foul, water remain in the sink.

The worktops and upstands they installed were unbelievably badly made and fitted. For example, the upstands were in short sections and had glaringly obvious joins all along the length where there should have been none; there should have been mitred corners, there were none and they all overlapped differently. They are also a much lighter shade than the worktops. One worktop was out of shape and had no overhang at one end and on the side because the template had been wrongly made. Where the two worktops met the cooker the left hand side had a noticeable gap which had been filled with a mastik. The right hand side's gap was treble that to the other side and grossly obvious due to the gap being enhanced by the upstand at the back which correctly had no gap where it met the cooker.

To add to all this the fitters caused damage to a new £6000 Lacanche cooker and its splashback.

This is just a couple of examples. There are more but I move on to the next stage.

After many emails, numerous photos, they returned with a replacement double sink and attempted to correct the fitting of the worktops. Sadly there is no improvement in the fitting as the templates were wrong in the first instance and therefore the only solution would be to replace which is what they said they would do but then changed their minds.

The replacement sinks still do not drain correctly despite emphatic reassurances that they would. One sink is unusable as the drainer waste they fitted was not correctly fitted nor sealed and when the sink was filled it flooded through to the cupboard underneath. Unbelievable. This means that the drainer waste has to be removed to be correctly re-fitted and sealed. The director of STONEMADE rfused to send one of his employees to carry this out and instructed my plumber to "get a piece of wood and a hammer to remove the drainer waste". These statements were all made in writing!!!

As with the first time there were consequences from their visit. This time they made a terrible mess with the concrete on a new patio which we had had laid. As with before, no apologies given.

It is a legal requirement that a copy of their Terms and Conditions should be provided. I have yet to see this.

Under the guidance of Trading Standards I am attempting to get a full refund of the monies I paid them and removal of their goods. If it proves necessary, and I feel it will be, then I am prepared to exhaust all legal avenues to get justice.

Every statement made above is factual and supported by photographic evidence.

I will keep this review updated as and when there is any news.
