Our Experience buying a Story home has been a great one! Matthew Pelusi at Ashwood Grange made it a breeze from reserving all the way to completion, his professionalism and experience showed.
We love our Story home, the build quality and attention to detail is superb and I didn’t get the same feeling, quality and service from Bellway.
We have been moved in four months now and the level of care and support from Matthew Pelusi and the site management Matthew are great, they can’t do enough for us and what an asset to Story Homes. Very satisfied!

Out experience has been a pleasure. The whole process has been very well managed. We have been completely supported by the staff at Story homes. The staff are welcoming and at every stage of buying our new home we have been very well informed and made to feel welcome in the office at any time. We have enjoyed the experience and have found the staff have a lot of knowledge about the plots, extras, buying process. We’ve been completely at ease working with Samantha and the team and have already highly recommended Story’s to family and friends (one of which are on now in the process of buying a home from Story’s too) I could not fault the service in any way and thank Samantha personally for her warmth and professionalism when supporting us to purchase our new home.

Michael, an Aftercare Advisor for the North East Region has been exceptionally helpful! I have found him to be friendly and approachable, super helpful and prompt in delivering his high level of customer service! Unfortunately, I have had some instances of poor service in the past, not getting responses, not getting things resolved, continually chasing things up.. but i am so thankful that Michael appears to be turning things around! Really impressed and grateful!

We've just moved into our new Story Home. Now, as we all know, buying a home can be a bit of a rollercoaster - especially when there is one to sell in order to enable the purchase. Our journey wasn't the most straight forward with slow estate agents and buyers dropping out. But, with some of help and clear communication from Emma and the team at Story Homes Coppull, we have landed on our feet in the home we fell in love with.

From our very first show home visit Laura and Sam at Edgehill have been amazing. Nothing is too much trouble and any queries we had during our purchase were resolved without any hesitation. Our new home has exceeded our expectations and the post move in support from the site manager offers a real peace of mind. the team here at storeys are true professionals who simplified a stressful process. Really positive experience with the developers. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful, and the house has been finished to a great standard. Only a few minor snags, which were sorted quickly. Overall, very happy!

Not quite moved in yet, but the experience hasn’t been what I expected so far. From a sales perspective, Rachel has been very helpful and supportive throughout the process. However, it’s unusual to come across a builder that doesn’t offer meaningful incentives.

While we were offered £10,000 worth of extras, the price of the house increased by £20,000, which effectively meant we ended up paying £10,000 more overall. There was also no additional support with solicitors or stamp duty, which was disappointing.

That said, the house itself is very nice, and we’re still looking forward to moving in.

Honest review.

We had been saving for years to afford our dream Story home and we finally moved into our home at the Highfields site on Whickham Highway in May 2025.

Upon moving in, there were a lot of snagging issues, a lot more than we anticipated and we were really disappointed with the final quality of our home in the first instance.

Our initial feelings didn't subside in the first few months we were in our home, and we found ourselves completely consumed day-to-day trying to get resolutions for our issues. This wasn't helped at all by the site manager at the time, who wasn't at all helpful and we found it a real task getting the help we needed to resolve our defects.

This changed significantly around August 2025 when Michael at aftercare appeared to take the lead on our issues and the extremely unhelpful site manager appeared to have left the business.

Ever since Michael took the lead on our defects, things have been getting done and we are now in a position, finally, nearly 12 months later, where most of the initial defects have been resolved to a high standard.

We have found the maintenance guys who work directly for Story to be the most helpful. Especially David who really takes his time to listen and understand any issues, and he works on any issues until they are completed to a high standard.

To summarise, Michael at aftercare has been a godsend for us after what was a really bad experience to begin with.

Would I have recommended Story Homes to others after the first 3 months of moving into our property, probably not. Would I recommend Story Homes now that our home has been brought up to the standard we would expect from this developer, absolutely!

We love our home and the area we live in, and we look forwards to many happy years here.

We have had a great experience and Amanda our sales exec has looked after us from enquiring to reserving our plot. She was helpful, polite and kept the process simple, straightforward and explained everything in detail to answering any questions we had.

Moving house is a stressful procedure, this being a little worse than normal with having our 9 month old, but she has made this stress free and we have no complaints and are very reassured should we need anything in the meantime. Thanks again.

Fiona at Summerpark is always happy to answer our questions and talk to us about the available plots. While we have not yet taken the plunge, Fiona is always incredibly nice and willing to talk about the plots available and coming up.
Hopefully, we will be having a very different conversation with Fiona soon.

Amanda was brilliant, very helpful and informative. We have a 9 month old so this is a stressful time with selling and buying at the same time but Amanda made everything run so smoothly we couldn’t fault anything. Thanks again Amanda we couldn’t ask for anything more from you you were fantastic!

Mark was very polite and helpful. He made a very good job of replacing the two doors where the veneer had started to lift. Excellent after care service.

These have been the worst builders I’ve ever had to deal with. The whole experience has been exhausting and incredibly upsetting. And if you’re expecting any kind of aftercare, don’t bother — it simply doesn’t exist. Bethany from aftercare has made everything even harder. She’s been unhelpful, dismissive, and honestly feels like she doesn’t care at all. The service has been absolutely useless, and I’m left feeling completely let down.
