AVOID – I WOULDN’T RECOMMEND THEM TO MY WORST ENEMY
I very rarely leave reviews like this, but after the way I have been treated I feel other people need to know about my experience before spending their money here.
I purchased a Range Rover for nearly £130,000. The vehicle is less than a year old, yet it has broken down and has now been with them for approximately SIX WEEKS.
Six weeks later, I still don’t have a proper explanation as to why a nearly new £130,000 vehicle has suffered such a serious failure, nor do I have any confidence as to when I will actually get it back.
They have even removed the engine and yet the vehicle is still not fixed. How can a Range Rover costing nearly £130,000, less than a year old, be sitting in a workshop for six weeks with its engine taken out and the customer still be left without a clear resolution?
But as dreadful as the situation with the car itself has been, the after-sales service and communication have been even worse.
The communication from them has been particularly poor. I am absolutely disgusted with the lack of communication and the way I have been left chasing answers. There seems to be no urgency whatsoever. Updates should be coming to me without me constantly having to chase, especially considering the value and age of the vehicle and the seriousness of the problem.
I am a pensioner, and this whole experience has caused me an enormous amount of unnecessary stress and inconvenience. I spent nearly £130,000 believing I was buying a premium vehicle backed by premium customer service. Instead, I feel as though once they had my money, the level of care I expected simply wasn’t there when I actually needed their help.
What exactly are you paying a premium price for if this is the treatment you receive when something goes wrong?
I wouldn’t expect this level of after-sales care after buying a cheap second-hand car, never mind a nearly £130,000 Range Rover that isn’t even a year old.
The whole experience has been shocking from start to finish. Six weeks without the vehicle, the engine removed, no proper explanation for the failure, no clear resolution and communication that has been completely unacceptable.
I genuinely wouldn’t recommend them to my worst enemy.
If you’re considering spending a substantial amount of money on a Range Rover here, I would strongly suggest thinking very carefully about what happens after they have your money. Selling an expensive vehicle is the easy part. The true test of a dealership is how they treat their customers when something goes seriously wrong.
Based on my experience, the after-sales care has been nothing short of disgraceful.
Nearly £130,000 spent. Less than a year old. Six weeks in the workshop. Engine removed. Still not fixed.
That says everything.
The team at Stratstone Landrover are always friendly, polite, efficient and very knowledgeable. I would recommend them to anyone who is interested in buying a Landrover

Purchased a car from Strathstone Landrover Reading . Coolant light came on on the way home from collection. Fast forward 2 weeks of little or no communication, other than when chased . I’ve now cancelled the finance and handed back the car and I’m being ignored when chasing my deposit and trade in value to be returned . Awful service which surprisingly wasn’t the case when I wanted to buy £80k worth of car ! Avoid at all costs

Service department is busy and hard to get hold of, tried to get Land Rover assist to sort the issue out when it was a delay tactic, and then it took months for them to fix an issue under warranty and the car electronics are still not working properly. Spent more time back and forth to the garage than should be necessary.

I purchased an Approved Used Range Rover Vogue from Stratstone Land Rover Reading in November 2025.
Over the following seven months the vehicle was returned to the dealership on five occasions for various faults, including a loss of power incident which resulted in a motorway breakdown and recovery.
Following repeated repair attempts, I sought to reject the vehicle. Stratstone did not accept the rejection and the matter became protracted, involving correspondence with the dealership, Jaguar Land Rover and legal representatives over a period of several months.
Ultimately, Stratstone agreed to purchase the vehicle back from me, but only at a loss of approximately £12,000 compared with the purchase price after seven months of ownership.
My experience of the customer service throughout was extremely disappointing. Communication was often slow, responsibility appeared fragmented between departments, and I was left with little confidence that customer satisfaction or long-term reputation were priorities.
Based on my experience, I would not purchase another vehicle from Stratstone.
Addition:
Stratstone customer services should be congratulated on their efficiency at dealing with bad reviews on Trustpilot and Google, instant responses, very unlike every other area of their business!

Well after 5 days and 220 miles my brand new 80k defender starts knocking during braking, not a problem I think as Stratstone will sort it out. How wrong I was, phone Land Rover assist I was told, so I do his and get through to the AA. this is because Land Rover assist only work Monday to Friday 9-5. Have been left high and dry by Stratstone Reading. I have rejected the vehicle and will look to recoup the rest of my costs through the courts. As for the Land Rover brand, don’t bother they really are a crock of shite, an 80k motor that lasts for 220 miles????

I purchased a new defender and it was the worst experience I have ever had purchasing a car, then a week after the purchase we found out that the car had not been registered to us and was not taxed.
The head of business will not contact me, I have filled out 3 complaint forms, been on live chat since the 7th of May and nobody will make contact with me.

Purchased a used car on 10th Jan. Can handed over with known faults. Broken down twice since then and the last time it broke was was 10th April meaning Stratstone Reading have sat on the car for 8 weeks. Shameful experience, got to be the lowest performing dealership in the country.
