We needed a new roof after they were done with our installation, sunternal was great at selling, but nexus energy is the installer, of which sunternal is at the sales arm, nothing else. Overall, stay away from them, find an installer that uses real roofers to get onto your roof.

Avoid Sunternal

Our experience with Sunternal Solar has been a nightmare.

1. Mechanics Lien: They didn’t pay their contractor, leaving us with a lien on our home. Despite our repeated attempts to get them to fix this, there's been no response or update on when it will be resolved.

2. Roof Leak: The solar panel installation caused a leak in our roof. Essential flashing was skipped, and even after countless follow-ups, they’ve done nothing to address it.

3. Terrible System Performance: We’re stuck paying for both solar and PG&E because the system doesn’t produce enough energy. We’re locked into a useless power purchase program with no resolution in sight.

Sunternal’s lack of responsibility and action has been infuriating and costly. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

What ever you do go with someone else

What ever you do go with someone else. Had these guys install a system paid them in full. Instead of paying the distributor for my solar panel they used the money else where. I had a lien put on my house because they did not pay their distributor. We are now dealing with the board of construction and then will get all
The lawyer fees through court. Unreal unprofessional. Here is the irony I had 5 neighbors that were going to go with them. After I told them my experience they all decided to go with other company’s. No need for this be professional.

Do not choose Sunternal if you are…

Do not choose Sunternal if you are looking for solar. They work together with Nexus. Sunternal only does the sales side. Both companies do not live up to their promises. I took my first review from February down because Chris Zettel, COO from Nexus, promised to take care of everything. Andrew Little, COO from Sunternal, is aware and does not care. Now it is July and it is even worse. They ruined our roof and are unable to fix it. Eight(!!!) attempts in four months. And that is not the only issue. Do not trust these positive reviews. We did and we deeply regret it. Poor workmanship, unreliable and chaotic.

UPDATE: It took them 14 attempts to replace ALL broken tiles.

UPDATE II: Our ordeal with Sunternal/Nexus is still ongoing. We are entering YEAR THREE now. Our roof startet leaking last winter and we have water damage in ceiling and walls. Sunternal/Nexus does not reply for multiple weeks and when they do it is to tell us that we have to wait until they can schedule us. We are waiting for four months for them to fix it. Again: DO NOT choose Sunternal.
