A fantastic and very supportive team. The reader report on my screenplay was in depth and full of great feedback. It has led to me refocusing elements of plot and action which have ultimately resulted in a much stronger pitch. I am very grateful to Dan for all his advice and insights on how the film industry works.

Susan has agented my projects for the past three years. Nobody could have taken more time and trouble and her insights and feedback on the business and how generally to develop my work have been really valuable. I would not hesitate to recommend Susan and her lovely colleagues Beverley and Jan.

She’s not a real agent. Basically,she passed me to her assistant from Merlin Agency ,who is also offering a review for Susan Mears on this site (5 stars). I’ve been charged for some services,to improve the quality of my book and to send it to publishers,saying that I will get the money back once I will sign the contract with the publisher. She said the feedback from the publisher was negative because I’m a new writer and she offered me some silly suggestions,one of them being to sign with their publishing house but seeing how less they have done for me,I chose not to do it

This is a big scam. Do not engage with this website. It should be shut down. People who have written reviews and put five stars are also part of this massive scam.

My late mother was an international novelist with over 50 books published. I was introduced to Susan a year ago to discuss republishing and film. Since then, Susan has arranged and introduced me to a publisher for my own work with two craft books to be published later this year in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia. Susan is very dedicated to her work and I would have no hesitation in recommending her talent to anyone. I am very happy to now be working on another project with Susan and totally trust her expertise and wealth of knowledge throughout. What a shame I didn’t find Susan earlier.

I have been searching to find a literary agent for over a decade. When Susan pretty much landed in my lap, I was completely amazed and thrilled by her professionalism, her true caring and her instant level of commitment. If it were possible to give a six star review for this wonderful literary agency I would. Top notch both in professionalism, courtesy and amazing support that was given every step of the way. It just doesn't get any better than that. Thanks Susan!

Susan Mears may not be a high-profile, well-hyped literary and film/TV rights agent, but she's one of the best in this all-too-dodgy field. In fact, I have never known her to be anything but dogged and diligent in pursuing and structuring the best deals for her clients. And, in my experience, she gives personal attention and even discusses strategies and approaches with her clients. I have known many in this field and, in my estimation and in the best possible way, Susan Mears is one of a kind. (In my view, any negative feelings toward good agents like Susan tend to fall under the category of sour grapes.)

Be aware, Susan Mears is a SCAM. She doesn’t care about your project, she doesn’t even read them. She is relentless in trying to get you to fall for a huge scam, setting up risky loans to fund pitching your projects. Don’t believe anything she says. Materials she provides and charges for do not match up. RUN.

I have known Susan Mears and her excellent team for four years, during which time she has successfully found publishers for each my three novels and introduced me to a seasoned and hugely talented professional in the film world. Thanks to that partnership I now have three co-written screenplays in active development. Susan is an extremely engaged and dedicated agent who really understands her market and has first-rate connections of long-standing. Aside from being someone of the highest integrity she is also great fun to work with.

RIP off! She uses a secondary agency called ‘Merlin’. It supposed to specialise and help new writers to get published, but it’s just another way of scamming writers out of their money. I trusted Susan Mears due to her reputation, so I feel extremely disappointed and angry. All what matters to them is people’s money. Stay away.

I self-published a romantic novel a few years ago, and was extremely excited when readers loved it and gave me some great reviews, and kept insisting on a sequel. But! I lacked the know-how and marketing ability to take my book to the next level, so almost gave up hope. Then, I joined Susan Mears Literary Agency, who took a chance on an unknown writer. She took my book to the Frankfurt Book Festival and gave her all to pitch my tried and tested novel. The results have been amazing, with proposals going to a number of big players within the publishing world. I know there are no guarantees, all I can do is pray I get an offer. But it was Susan pitching my book, which got me past that line, something I could never have done on my own. All I can do now is wait and see, but with Susan behind me and her great editing team, I now stand a chance.
