Each time I fly from Arlanda they send…

Each time I fly from Arlanda they send me to the elaborate security check rather than the normal one. Each time!! This is because I do not dress “Swedish” , and you can only find foreigners at the elaborate security check. The staff there kept speaking to me in English even though I told them and they could hear clearly I speak Swedish which shocks them every time because they only expect foreigners there. They are clearly profiling people based on whether they are foreigners or not. Who isn’t dressed to their taste gets sent to the elaborate security check.
Apart from that, the airport is a disaster. For example, there are no bathrooms at the departure level before security, but they want you to go downstairs to use the bathroom. Insane! The fast walking tracks aren’t working, getting to the gate is a never ending labyrinth, not to mention it’s also cold compared to other airports.

Arlanda is the Worst Airport in Europe!! (And I've been to Geneva)

I am a regular traveller through Arlanda and I am beginning to get extremely frustrated with the total lack of consideration for your passengers and their time. The last straw was closing the Terminal 4 security desks, forcing all passengers to go through the Terminal 5 ones. This is ridiculous, considering that the C gates are so incredibly far from those security desks, including the only “non-airline” lounge (other than the 66 Lounge, which is also mostly for airlines) in the whole airport.

Most of my flights are from the F gates, but in order to relax in the lounge I need to traverse the not-insignificant distance from the T5 security, down to the C gates, then most likely back to the F gates. This is madness, and only exacerbates the inaccessibility of your airport for those who are less able to get around, like the elderly.

The previous straws have been:

- The fact that you don’t have automated immigration e-gates, like most major European hubs.
- Your toilet situation is crazy, as you have large spaces dedicated to often one single cubicle. Have you not heard of urinals?
- All the key buses are allllllll the way at the other end by Terminal 4, yet you only allow passengers to come out at Terminal 5 arrivals, forcing yet another very long walk across the terminal concourse. Please put some bus stops at T5. PLEASE.
- The extremely slow escalator leading down into the F gate immigration hall. It is so slow that even children going down the parallel stairs beat everyone to the bottom.
- Too often have I seen elderly passengers have to walk the long back and forth of the security lines, some being unable to stand. All while your staff do nothing. These people should be prioritised and God forbid they had a C Gate departure, as they are in for another long walk.
- Walking between C Gates and D Gates there are 6 travelators. I have never once seen all 6 working. I bet you also have a running joke on this as I now look out to see which one or ones are not running.

There is a reason that countries don’t build linear terminals anymore.

ARLANDA = Annoying Routes, Ludicrous Arrangements, Nobody Decently Accommodated

Thank you so much for your time.

Arlanda is the least user friendly …

Arlanda is the least user friendly airport I have ever come across. I have already yielded to mostly taking the car for shorter distances, both because if too many disturbances over the year (like when travellers were asked to turn up 4(!) hours prior to departure because of staff shortages in the security check).
The new security check - feel like miles to walk as it is placed at the furthest away point of the airport, just to then force all the travellers to follow a long, winding path back, one that seems created solely to force us to pass by as many shops as possible. This adds at a minimum 20 minutes - completely wasted.
Up till now it has a yeast been possible to instead go thru the security check at terminal 4 (which is also, in contrary to terminal 5, close to both buses and parking) and then pass straight on to the D-gates (I have purposely booked airlines leaving from this). Now Swedavia has also closed this security check.
From now on I will only go by car to Oslo - it will be quicker and less stressful. I cannot recommend Arlanda to anyone, I am truly sorry to say.

Kaosartat på Arlamda

The flights may pass without problems but following may disturb many passengers. The renovation at Arlanda airport, Stockholm, seems like a total sabotage. Kilometer-long corridors for the arriving passengers who are already tired enough after the flight. Then a huge baggage hall. You are afflicted even if you travel with a minimal cabin bag.! Sreaming children, arguing families and general chaos. As Arlanda grows, it is also becoming a more uncomfortable and more hostile travel platform. It destroys the general positive flight experience.

No Rebooking with the Same Price. Only Upgrade

I just noticed that my booking is in the morning instead of the evening. When I went to the website, the available option is only upgrade. The option for my package "low" is already sold out.
1. Why is it sold out when there are still seats available?
2. The date of rebooking is too far from my actual flight.
3. Why is the system or program only provide upgrade if there is still a week left for rebooking?

In my opinion, Swedevia should rethink how they offer or handle packages and rebooking. They will start to lose customers with this. Finnavia seems better based on experience when it comes to rebooking and rebooking policies.

Half a star for Avarn security would be generous…

Half a star would be to much to give for security agents when i transfered at Arlanda to SAS flight to Finland, the agents at the security transit scanning desk were unprofessional, rude, incompetent, 1 agent knocked my Laptop and mobile out of the tray, causing damage to the casings, he was unable to get me his ID or wore ID, I brought mens toileties at heathrow, which were security sealed to allow for easy transit through, another agent riped open that security bag, torn of the plastic wrapping, opened the box and tested the contents, the agent never wore gloves so he could have contaminated the product with drug residue, had that been another passagers baggage, the agent did he same to another passenger with his Security bagged of Gin,Agent placed toileties in another new security bag, with no way of identifying that Arlanda had opened the bag, Had i be stopped in the next leg of the journey, i could have be accused of opening the security bag as the toileties box was open and damaged, once through the scanner i was then asked to do a drugs wipe of the hands, i was also made to lift my sweater and t shirt so the agent could swab my stomach, all this in front of other passagers. Disgraceful
I requested a supervisor so i could explain how i had been treated, ask for an incident number regarding my Laptop and mobile, the supervisor had no business cards or visable ID, i was told to write to the swedavia feedback, and there is no incident book kept, of course the feedback that has yet to bring any reply. Due all this unecessary hold up i missed my next flight, thank god SAS service desk were very helpful in this matter.
Avarn security who run the checking for Arlanda, should be a shamed of themselves, but reading more trust pilot reviews it seems Avarn agents are all incompetent and rude not for the first time

Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs – Terrible service and complete disregard for customers!
I booked and paid for a parking spot near the airport for a week. Upon returning, I was charged again at the exit, simply because I had unknowingly parked in a different area than the one I booked. While this might technically be correct, it happened because snow covered most of the signs, it was my first time using this service, and I was already stressed trying to get to the airport on time.

What frustrates me isn’t the double charge of 700 SEK but the dismissive attitude of the employees. Instead of offering any help, they happily sent people to take pictures of signs and measure roads—completely ignoring my reasonable explanation.

They could have easily resolved this fairly for a confused customer by waiving the extra charge, especially since the prices for both areas are the same. But no, they chose to make it a hassle and keep the extra money.

If you value your time, money, and sanity, steer clear of this scammy service. Rating: 1 star (only because 0 stars isn’t an option).

Be prepared to walk back and forth…

Be prepared to walk back and forth between terminals over 20min just because they save money on an extra stuff of 3. For over years they could not open terminal 5 for buses. When arrived on Xmas and they due to reduced stuff kept only T5 open, the Swedavia shuttle bus driver forgot this to mention to passengers, dropped them at T4 where we should have boarded from according to boarding pass just to walk 35min back and forth (again). The few long corridors with escalator are out of function.

Arlanda has become the worst airport…

Arlanda has become the worst airport I’ve ever visited in the world, by far! It is a complete mess for passengers both arriving and leaving the airport! It is spread out “all-over” instead of keeping airlines to regions/hubs on the airport making it a complete mess and struggle to find your way, and it is often great distances and no transports apart from your legs…god forbid you have some trouble walking…

The airport now deserve - (minus) 5 stars! This is embarrassing for a country’s main hub!!!

We booked Stockholm Arlandas vip…

We booked Stockholm Arlandas vip service - it was the worst welcoming we ever had. A regular taxi would have been more polite and helpful.
The staff was extremely rude and gave nasty comments, unhelpful with absolutely everything, it was ridiculous actually. We complained afterwards and they acknowledged the email but then they never got back to us.

Beware of security control at Arlanda

Beware of security control at Arlanda. The security staff is very unfriendly and discriminates. A female member of our family is always picked for a humiliating control of most personal belongings and when we ask what the problem is they completely ignore us and at most tell us they have the right of treat us like that. We have NEVER experienced that at any other airport round Europe, only at Arlanda so it has nothing to do with us but it has to do with the staff at Arlanda.

Collection area (parking) for…

Collection area (parking) for international flight arrivals at terminal 5 is so small that in desperation you’ll stop anywhere to pick up your passengers. Big No No. A whole team of parking ticket people pounce immediately and fine you 900kr. In the 10 minutes I was there 3 other cars were victims of this “built by design “ robbery.

Their work is FRAUD!!

I have made a mistake by the entrance date. The exit date was correct.
I have already paid and the only thing I wanted, that I can come through the gate and park my car, although I have booked too early.
I didn't not even claim money back, but I just want to park within my booked and paid time. I did not receive any mail in addition to my booking-confirmation as you usually do. If I would have received that in time, I could have corrected it!
But since I didn't notice the wrong entrance date and the welcome mail didn't come that time when I booked it.
So, something went strange and I really would have appreciated if I could just park my car within my booked and paid time within the booking. But no, Swedavia thinks that they can treat people very bad and only take their money!
I can't tell how upset and angry I am.
Facit: as long everything is ok it works with them, but as soon as you need their help or assistens or any pragmatic solution, you chose the wrong company. And since they are the only ones taking care for parking in Arlanda, they can behave that bad!
That you don't feel ashame treating people in this way!!
Good to see, that I am not the only one, being very upset with you!
I really detest people like you! And your staff is unable to be kind and helpful or even accommodating and finding a solution which suits all. You, Swedavia have already been paid!! So, what is the problem in changing the entrance date???

Rude and intimating Staff at the Gate

Incident:
Date 28 June 2023;
Time: 21:10
Place: Gate C39 onboarding to Gothenburg.

The female staff on-duty at Gate C39 turned up late, 10 min before take off.
She refused to let me board the plane because my boarding pass was not from the Ryanair app but via Kiwi app, which I had no knowledge about.

When I asked for help, she was rude, not helpful and intimating. She showed that she has the power to decide if I could board the plane or not. She let everyone passed and asked me to step aside causing me huge amount of stress that I might miss my flight.

I felt that the way she treated me was due to my non- European origin.

With her rude attitude, she shouldn't work in the Travel and hospitality industry. She left such a bad and intimating experience to me that I don't want to fly with Ryanair again or avoid transferring via Arlanda in the future.

A nice journey ended sour.
