Someone I know got "hired" by this company. He had NO actual background in financing, and worked in food service without any degree or apprenticeship before being randomly offered the job of "Swiss Life Select Financial Consultant" by someone close to him. He has since cut ties with everyone in our friend group, bought an entirely new wardrobe, and is parading around as if he undeterstands financing. He calls himself a professionally trained financial advisor, and is listed online as such.
Let me be clear: THIS IS AN MLM. My friend was hired with literally NO experience or credentials in finances. Within 2 months, he was offering his services to real clients as a fully trained "professional." He came after everyone he knew with this offer.
Also, fun fact. He and his "boss" held training meetings in our kitchen. How is that professional?
Do not sign anything with them trough any broker !
You would be better of putting money in the roulette than saving in Pillar 3a with Swiss Life.
I was offered Pillar 3a solution by a broker called UB Partner, my requirements were very simple: as an expat I would like to have a flexibility of taking the funds out when i will decide to move abroad with minimal loss if my circumstances change.
I was offered a product called SWISS Life Dynamic Elements Duo as an great solution to this.
After nearly 3 years my situation has changed and i needed to move abroad,
The total amount i paid to Swiss Life was just over 11000 CHF,
The amount then returned to me is less just above 5500chf.
So Yes I was basically ripped off out of my savings by not being warned that if my life situation changes i will lose most of my savings.
Yes he said there is a fee of 50chf of closing the account when moving abroad, and that there surrender value is only when you would like to withdraw the money when still living in Switzerland like for house or starting company.
If You are expat DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING WITH THEM!
One of the worst company I ever used. Lacking service and interest in customer care and breaking their own contracts. Stay away!

I put a very large sum of money in the pension scheme when I left Switzerland (libre passage) that they proposed, making me believe they were giving me access to a very good private bank that I would not have access without their name. I have never made any money from it, if anything I have lost a lot in monthly fees. At least this is what I understand from the paperwork, despite many attempts to contact my conseiller or someone else at the firm to try and understand the investment and get help to get the ones out. It has been over 2 years now that I’m Trying to get help to get the money out without any luck. Terrible customer service, verging on the line of it all being a scam!
Terrible experience ended with a big loss! They used external advisors. It was good in the beginning where I verified all benefits and risks. But found out after several years the portfolio I purchased had a huge hidden costs etc. which I was either not told explicitly or misled. There was no app or regular statements indicating the funds performance and balance amount. Also my bad for catching it too late. I closed the account soon after discovering it and ended losing almost 40% of my capital. They assigned a new swisslife advisor. He could not help much and I could not file any complaint as it was not directly from their own advisor. I lost all faith in them. So highly suggest to stay away from such company!

Terrible and mis-information on Pillar 3A. Below is what I wrote to them about Pillar 3 A:
I am now more than confident that I was clearly DUPED by even SwissLife as well as its corresponding broker and sub-broker. Here is the reason and my OFFICIAL COMPLAINT to even SwissLife:
In the first letter I received from SwissLife Dated: 4th June 2021, there was no mention of Surrender value and paid-up values of my insurance solution, there was only benefit and asset allocation (kindly refer to the letter sent to me on this date.
Now, when I called for the first time to SwissLife on 27th July 2021 in order to get an update about my Pillar 3A, I was shocked to know the knowledge about the surrender value and discussed with the Customer Service Officer about the surrender clause and she also said to me, that the only thing she can do to minimize my loss is to give an updated proposal.
Now, based on the above discussion I received my 2nd letter from SwissLife Dated: 27th July 2021 that they are offering me a change of my Policy and this time I got a lengthy letter and in this there was a CLEAR MENTION of surrender value and paid-up value.
Now I can clearly understand that the reason I didn’t receive the sample calculation in my first letter so that it would have been very easy for me to decide about my Pillar 3 A which I was clearly oblivion of till I spoke to your customer service officer on 27th July. As till then I was carried away by a FALSE ADVISE from SwissLife & sub-broker who said that my invested capital is safe as its Pillar 3A.

Terrible. Do not buy any products with them. Lost half of my money when wanted to terminate the contract. I hope that other people will not make the same mistake as me!

Unsafe and dangerous option to invest your money! This company is misleading its customers on purpose in order to avoid returning the funds to its clients! It is really a shame for countries to let such companies to operate without any control whether they operate legally or not!

This company cheats and lies to it’s clients and makes it very difficult to recover your invested money.
We spent 25 years saving with them for our pension and, now that we have reached pension age and have a right to our money, they are refusing to release our funds.
We have been trying for more than a year and they keep inventing new reasons and finding new documents for us to fill.
Their customer service is one of the worst I have ever experienced; rude and unhelpful, take ages to reply to mails and refuse to give us the proper information, all in their interest of holding on to OUR money and making it difficult for us.
Do NOT give your money to these people!!

Our young family recently moved to Switzerland and were required to join a health insurance provider. We visited Swiss Life Select and spoke with a friendly English speaking insurance salesman. We were sold a highly complex (he struggled to explain the health system and its requirements) insurance that turned out to be more than we could ever need or require. When we eventually realised this (within 3 months) we tried to change the policy from 12,000 CHF per year (plus a 5,000 CHF excess before we received a cent back) to 7,900 CHF per year. The salesman told us we could leave at anytime and when we attempted to action this, he lied to the provider and informed them he never said such a thing. We were now locked in for 5 years at a total cost of 60,000 CHF for a perfectly healthy young family. He also tried to sell us a pyramid (literally) scheme of insurances and pension investments that were solely designed to bleed us of as much money as possible. The pension and investment part of the pyramid was absolutely offensive in its design. Working in Finance I checked the policy and numbers, our return upon retirement would have been below inflation and made the provider just under 200,000 CHF.
Our strong recommendation is visit comparis and find your own policy to reflect what you truly need. The brokers and insurance salesman are, unfortunately, the same the world over.
Worse company ever. Our house in france is insured with them, and there was a localised wind storm which damaged the roof tiles & ridge tiles.
We sent our quote along with pictures as they asked us too, and have now been told that they wont pay out because they cant prove that there was a storm in that area when it happened.
Anyone who lives in this area of France knows that wind storms can be very localised, and wont appear on the Meteo. One hamlet can be affected and another not.
CLEARLY the roof has been damaged. Why pay for insurance if they wont pay out.
Would love to know how many others have had similar problems. We will be looking for a new insurance company. If you wish to respond SWISS LIFE I look forward to it, but I don't suppose you will!!!
