Avoid this company!I have been waiting…

Avoid this company!I have been waiting since February for a warranty claim (Order #SW-6547495). I reported a fault in February, but they deliberately took weeks to reply every single time with pathetic excuses. They stalled the process for 2 months just to tell me I’m now "out of warranty." Absolutely dishonest business practice. This is a scam to avoid repair costs.

No response from customer support

Contacted customer support about a replacement part. Got an initial response from Alexis and then nothing but radio silence. Won't respond no matter how many times I email him. Really poor service for a product I've supported from early on

I can finally use my bike again!

Having bad joints, I have been unable to use my beloved bike for a few years. This product has allowed me to get back on my bike, without the strain on my body. Very impressed.

Product still not delivered more than a year after the order was placed.

I can't comment on the quality of the product as I haven't received it yet. I placed an order MARCH 2025 for delivery no later than end of August 2025. It is now MAY 2026 and I still have not received it! The shipping tracker on their website pushes the estimated delivery date back every time I check it. Contacting customer service gets you an AI agent. Working through the process to get a human ultimately, after waiting for at least a week, ends up with marketing BS statements about my order being of the utmost importance but supply chain issues, blah blah blah. Yet, I'm constantly getting marketing emails saying order now for delivery in June! Insulting! This is very deceptive marketing. I have very little faith that this company will actually ever deliver my order and I will be out hundreds of Dollars.

Gen 2 pro kit for 20" wheel - 2 sets off parts and it still does not work.

I ordered a gen2 setup for a Dahon mu SL, a lightweight (~10kg) small wheel folding bike with narrow tyres. Paid up front, delivery data just went by. Eventually after chasing it arrived many months late.

despite them saying it will fir any bike, this is not true.
It took many emails to get them to send me a custom torque washer that would prevent the axle spinning in the forks.
The next issue was fitting the battery holder to the handlebars. The expect a 'T' at the attachment point, the Dahon does not have this. I ended up buying an extension bar for lights (£11 extra), which sort of worked, but the battery is so heavy that the attachment slips downward. Had to try a pair of handle bar extenders (another £45) so that the gap between the handlebar and the top of the post was lager enough to allow the battery holder to fit - though it has to be off-centre.
I managed to get the pedal sensor to fit by judicious trimming of the plastic part. This now has a flashing LED when the pedals turn, indicating it is working.
So used up many months of warranty before I even got on the bike.
The range is < 15 miles (5 miles to work, can get there and back, but not there again) with the 'pro' battery 360Whr. Route is along a canal tow path, 30m elevation over route, or along the road, 2 larger hills. (Google maps says 70m up 40m down, on the uphill direction and 27 minutes for bike)
On my old (40+yrs) racing bike in easy going commuter mode it takes 23 minute. In late for work mode it takes 18 minutes. With the swytch kit it takes 18 minutes and the motor is nearly silent. (the one good thing)
So - I got about 6 months use in the first 2 years because of these delays, then it stopped working.
Cycling along under power and motor just cuts out unexpectedly. Cue another extended time of no electric functionality:
First they said it was the controller - I had to buy a new one (another $60). That did not cure the problem. Then they said it was the battery (another £200). I did persuade them to knock of the price of the dud controller they sent. That did not work. This was taking months to resolve, then I got through to someone who was helpful. They sent a new wheel. Still did not work, Another battery: still did not work. Another pedal sensor;' still did not work. Another bracket: still did not work.
All these changes involved hours of disassembly and assembly and I was beginning to lose the will to continue. Getting the battery and controller out of the case and back in is particularly tricky.
Took all the parts off, and starting again from scratch with the original parts intending to swap out each part one by one to try and diagnose the problem. Now it works! With only original parts! No idea what changed
I tried all the new parts ( a complete set+) : do not work in any combination with themselves and the original parts (so the new parts are not working)
6 months later it dies again. Riding along under power on the flat, slight noise from wheel and complete loss of power.
The battery is charging and has lights, pedal sensor is blinking, all cable are securely connected, battery is securely in the holder (Note: I leave the battery attached all the time apart from when trying to fix it, so the connections cannot be worn).

By now the battery is only just managing 10miles range.

I have been riding bikes for 50+ years, have owned 10 and built one from the frame up.
I would not recommend Swytch to anyone, not even a dedicated bike tinkerer.
Their proprietary battery/wheel/controller combination means you are tied into their unreliable kit. They do no seem to test parts before sending them out
When it fails you just have a heavier than it needs to be manual bike and a diminished bank balance. And the memory of many hours sitting on a garage floor cursing at bicycle parts, time that you will never get back.

Avoid The Headache - Awful Customer Support

I’ve got a lot to say about Swytch, and none of it’s good.

I paid £500+ back in October 2025. The delivery date kept slipping week by week from late January, to the point where I genuinely thought the kit might never arrive. When I asked for a refund, they told me I had to wait until I received the item before even being allowed to request one. So you’re basically locked in after paying, even if they delay for months. That’s nearly a 6-month wait on an expensive product with zero reassurance.

Back in October, I also updated my order - swapped some cables for an LCD (same price). That alone took forever. You’re stuck going back and forth between AI responses and then waiting days or weeks for an actual human. Eventually got it sorted through the portal… only for them to send the wrong display anyway.

Now I’m trying to fix that. I’ve asked for the correct LCD (even sent photos so it’s crystal clear what I need for my Brompton handlebars), and the one response I did get completely missed the point - they clearly didn’t read the notes or look at the image and tried to send a different display again. I’ve followed up four times since. Nothing.

Honestly, the customer service is shocking. It’s just loops of AI replies to make it look like something’s happening, while nothing actually gets resolved. They take your money upfront, delay for months, and then disappear when there’s a problem.

At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re struggling behind the scenes. Seems they’re selling kits they don’t even have the parts ready for.

And now I’m stuck waiting again just for a basic LCD before I can even use the kit. If this is what it’s like before installation, I dread to think what happens if something goes wrong later.

Genuinely - not worth the stress. Avoid. AVOID. AVOID.

Former satisfied customer

Former satisfied customer
Bought a kit for my wife's bike a few years ago and all was good - I ordered a few months before I needed it and it arrived towards the end of the original estimated delivery month (not amazing, not dreadful) and was simple to fit, works well.
Fast forward to last October when, as a temporary lifestyle means I could make good use of an ebike for a bit and based on previous good experience I order a kit for myself. Completely different experience. This time as soon as the delivery date was within one month, the estimated delivery date moved back one month per month. It's still moving now, has shifted back yet another week in the last week - maybe I'm nolonger in the phase where it's permanently 1 month away, maybe it's now permanently 3 weeks away. I'm really not sure what the problem is - there is no worldwide shortage of ebike components, but I have very little faith that I'll ever receive this kit, never mind in the limited window that it'll be particularly useful to me. Swytch are putting far more effort into gaining more orders than they are into actually delivering to paying customers, though I did finally unsubscribe from the infuriating insulting marketing emails I was receiving, repeatedly telling me I could order a kit "now" and receive it before the current estimated delivery date for the kit I paid for last year.

Pull your finger out, Swytch. You used to be good. I would previously have recommended people buy from you. I cannot currently do so.

Great kit, not great delivery.

First things first, It doesn't get 5 stars purely because of the delayed delivery. I ordered in October 2025, Feb delivery was delayed, but they were very apologetic and let me know what was happening. Again it was delayed and again I was given an updated delivery of April. However now I have the kit safely in hand. I made a mistake during ordering the PAS, I reached out to Swytch bike and this was rectified free of charge with no need to send back the unit I mistakenly ordered. The kit is really, REALLY easy to fit. It charges fairly quickly and as far as I can tell it does achieve the claimed range. I did 20 miles across mixed terrain, i increased and decreased the assist and it still had 40% battery. The build quality is excellent and the customer support is excellent once you get past the AI bot. In summary; Build quality is great. Range is above expectation. Fitting is simple. Aside from the delivery schedule I would highly recommend this kit if you do not want to buy a fully fledged Ebike.

Unacceptable delays for what appears to be a decent product

I ordered the Max+ in July 2025. It finally arrived this month (April 2026). The communication has been very poor, with minimal explanation for the delays, and while waiting I have received multiple emails offering the same product, claiming it's suddenly available. Finally, customer services continued to claim that my kit would be delivered at a certain time, then missed their own deadline. This is obviously irritating and I wouldn't have ordered it had I known it would take this long to arrive. Having said that, I've now installed it and it's worked well on the first couple of occasions we've been out.

Just don’t do it

Just don’t do it, cowboy company that steals your money. I pre ordered in Oct 25 and should have had my kit by Feb. But no comms from them and when I did get past the stupid robots they told me oh sorry it’s now March. March came and went. Still no kit, contacted them again, was then told oh sorry it’s going to may 2026 now. wtf, how about nah mate, refund me and then I will tell the world what a cowboy outfit swytch is. Even then they took over 14 days to process my refund. Oh and if after this your still thinking of getting a kit, don’t, they had a financial bail out in December and it looks like the company will be in administration before long. So if you currently have a pre order with them I advise you contact them immediately to get a refund before it’s too late

PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY - THINK CAREFULLY

PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY. I ordered my e-bike conversion kit (and paid over £700) in September 2025 for January 2026 delivery. Delivery has been put back time and time again. Customer Service is practically non existent. I’ve cancelled and asked for a refund but I do not have the refund yet and there is NO RESPONSE to my emails. And no phone number you can call. PLEASE DO NOT PART WITH YOUR MONEY. Check the Swytch Facebook group and you will see I am possibly one of hundreds (maybe thousands?) of people who have parted with money and have no kit. The company are currently advertising for June delivery if you pay now but these people will not receive their kit for several months if at all I would think, based on my experience. It’s a shame as apparently the product itself is good. It just seems that the company do not care about customers at all. I am guessing my next step will have to be some sort of legal action. I hate writing this because I think it’s the first time I’ve ever had to resort to a bad public review of anything or anyone. I just want to help other people.

Sounds a good idea, but never arrives.

Sounds a good idea. But the company takes your money then keeps delaying delivery. Despite weekly sales emails. There is no communication about delivery. When you check the order tracker the delivery date changes each time. Ordered in November, delivery was expected in Jan. Still no delivery. So I cancelled the order. Only to be offered £50 as delivery will be by end of April. Today the order tracker is saying end of May. So have demanded a full refund. AGAIN! Suspect i will ha e to claim back money through my credit card.
Avoid this company.
Zero customer service.
Continued failed deliveries and zero communication.

AI support to keep you holding the line without any support

This company has badly designed parts as they will stop working after a while. Connecting the support, there is no support. They have AI machines telling you what you should check and at the end they just stop communicating (and of course the issues are not resolved). So this product is great if you intend to use it for one month and never touch it again (as it will stop working suddenly, and that means when you really would need it!). Yes, this has been a startup, and yes, it should have some room to learn. But it seems that this startup does not learn to improve, it learns to feed a AI chatting with you and keep you holding the line (and surprisingly not delivering any support).

Severely lacking

I think overall my experience with Swytch has been negative. Yes the kit works and helps me get about on my bike but there were a lot of hurdles to get there. Firstly, the bike took far longer to come than was advertised. I'm happy to wait for an order as I understand they are bespoke but I waited roughly 3 months extra and when it did come they had subbed parts out which I wasn't pleased about. Secondly, their customer support is abysmal. Trying to get in touch with an actual person is impossible and once you do there is little they can do to help. Thirdly, the quality of the kit is not what I'd expect for something that costs £600. Its not bad but some of the components are made of cheap feeling plastic so not sure how durable they will be. I have already had to tape things to my bike to prevent them from falling apart. Lastly, their website is very confusing, many links don't work and their navigation system is very confusing. Ultimately, I would not recommend using this company unfortunately. A great idea but very poorly executed.

complete lack of actual customer support... !!!! Avoid !!!!

Once again , Ive been let down by Swytch and its customer support , or lack of it .. please avoid this company.. We unfortunately invested in the product years ago and as such bound by the investment of the motor/ batteries etc.. which when they work are good. To obtain replacement parts in a hurry : ie:( in our case a new sensor ) forget it.. from previous experience , no doubt looking at yet another summer without a working bike .. thanks Swytch .:(
