As good today as back then

I live in the UK and have been flaring brake pipes using Sykes Pickavant for almost 50 years. My God, the prices have gone up. £50 for a small coated steel brake pipe cleaning tool! but when you put it on the end of a coated steel pipe in situ, and it cleans off just enough for the flare for the pipe to look like new to get a perfect flare using the coated steel pipe die, the £50 does not matter. The quality is still in a league of its own. 50 years I have checked for leaks and have never had one using quality fittings. Thanks to my older brother showing me how to flare pipes from the start. If you want the best you have to pay for the best and when it comes to brakes, the peace of mind is priceless. The Flaremaster SS is not a small tool to use in situ but copper, nickel, steel pipes, effortless.

Just purchased a 336v2 hydraulic nut…

Just purchased a 336v2 hydraulic nut splitter currently listed on Sykes pickavant website for the best part of £300 only to be told the day after that they no longer carry spares for it as it’s discontinued. So if you need a spare screw or anvil for it you’ll have to buy another £300 tool! Never again Sykes will I purchase any tools from you. Ludicrous sales tactic…..
