Best Training I have had

Great. I booked the entire block of ITIL® v3 courses at once from Foundation Course through to Managing Across the Lifecycle.

Got my ITIL®v3 Expert via the Capability modules first time through, in less than eight months, which included my having to delay the Intermediates and reschedule due to a personal bereavement.

Did my ISO/IEC 20000 Consultant and PRINCE2® Practitioner with them as well.

Delivering excellent IT Service Management training

I have undertaken all of my ITIL training with Sysop. They helped me to achieve ITIL Expert from Foundation level in just 5 months.
The trainers are very knowledgeable about IT best practice, the facilities are excellent, and the location, just off the M60 with parking is a bonus.
The class sizes are small unlike other training providers, and the rates are very competitive. I would highly recommend this company for training and professional services.

ITIL "descriptives" don't gel well in 3 days WITHOUT evening reading.

Although i must state that the course tutor was easy to listen to,and knew his topic well; the information in ITIL we learnt didn't lend it's self to being easy to remember. The principles are common sense, however ITIL wraps their brand of descriptive words which unfortunately when in exam conditions and with multiple sentances reading very (very) similar. It didnt seem to stick, or be "common sense" or give you the option to work it out from the options. exam fail. Furthermore, the mock exams didnt match the state of the exam in the level of similarity the multiple choice answers shown.

Hi Jon. Thank you for your feedback. I understand your comments and have a certain sympathy for your sentiments. I'm glad that you agree with our assessment that ITIL principles are common sense.
Exams, by their very nature, are stressful events and, as was explained on the course, ITIL exams are designed to test the student's ability to recognise ITIL principles when they are expressed in a slightly different form. We are not permitted to see "live" exam papers so I can't comment on the particular paper you took. I do know that BCS work diligently to weed-out any questions that have a particularly poor pass mark.
If you email me with some specific examples I will take it up with the examination body.

Excellent tutor!

Very interesting course that has given me knowledge that I can bring back and use in the office. Tutor was excellent in helping me understand the fundamentals. Will be using them again.

Thank you Paul. I have to say the level of participation from the group really helped the flow. I enjoyed it too.

Requires real "on your feet thinking" - Takes active participation to a new level

Training courses for some can be greeted with a certain amount of scepticism, value or stereo typed, this should not be treated as such.

I seldom like being out of the office for a full day but it was not long until I realised that this would not be your average training event \ awareness course. Firmly put everyone out of their comfort zone and gave people from all levels the exposure to the pressures of different departments in time of a major event(s) all working towards a common goal.

It would be hard for anyone on this course not to become involved and take an active part. I really enjoyed the event and would have no issue in recommending this course, a real tester and well worth the full day that it takes.

Thank you Wes. The Apollo 13 workshop is designed to allow you to experience, in a controlled environment, the culture change that is so essential to a successful IT service management deployment. It is a challenge! I'm glad you found it enjoyable and that the workshop objectives were achieved.

During Oct & Nov I attended 4 ITIL Intermediate Courses, Passed all 4, average score of 80%. I need say no more!!!

During Oct & Nov 2013 I attended four Intermediate ITIL Courses at SysOp. I found SysOp very friendly and knowledgeable. I had the pleasure of Andy as my instructor for all four courses. The whole process of planning, booking and attending the training courses was painless and simple. Janice who looks after the admin side of life is a pleasure to deal with, she is friendly and very prompt in replying to communications. I have one more ITIL course to attend, then all being well I will back at SysOp to attend my MALC in March 2014.

Thank you Jon. We work hard to maintain an exam pass rate significantly higher than the industry average - we believe ourselves to be the best in Europe. I'm pleased that worked for you, particularly as you had set yourself a very ambitious target timescale.
Janice thanks you too for your kind comments - her unofficial title is Director of First Impressions :)

Not quite enough info to apply to the business

I found the course topic veryy interesting but found the delivery a bit lacking. The course was delivered mainly on powerpoint slides and I would have liked more interaction. Quite a few questions that were raised were not answered properly, but instead we were told 'yes that is a tricky one'. We were all also shocked at the contect of the exam as a lot of it had not been covered during the course.
I would have liked more interaction and more information on how to apply Green IT practises in the work place.
All of the staff were lovely.

Thank you for your candid feedback and your kind remarks about the Sysop team.

I note your comment about encouraging more participation and will review the course dynamics for the future. I'm sorry you felt that some questions were not fully answered - the truth is that there is a great deal of ambiguity about government and international initiatives that some questions just cannot be answered which is why they were dealt with by class discussion.

Your reaction to the exam is common across all the exam courses we teach. I'm sure it's simply an adrenalin reaction to the stress of a "live" exam. I hope you will agree, now that you know how good your pass mark was, that you were, indeed, well prepared.

First class experience every time from booking right through to getting the exam results.

I've undertaken my Foundation and Intermediate courses with Sysop and am now planning to attend MALC with them in 2014. I wouldn't even think about going anywhere else. The admin team are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The tutors have all been great - they know the subjects and are supportive of real life discussion amongst the delegates. Course material is relevant and they share some useful exam techniques too.

Enabled me to achieve the ITIL certification I required

The training offered by Sysop is thorough and accessible. As well as the core ITIL publication a folder is provided with key aspects of the course highlighted. The trainer keeps things moving and brings focus to the training.

ITIL SOA

I had a good experience on the course, there was much more 121 communication as I was in a small group of candidates. The course material was well presented and there was time for questions and clarifications along the way. The course tutor was assessed during our training which indicates that they take it seriously and where necessary improvements are made.

A well run and organised course with a productive learning atmosphere.

My course at Sysop was well organised and enjoyable, which was a relief as there were only 2 people on the course which could have been a problem but with encouragement from the trainer it was a very productive environment. We were able to discuss our individual different environments while covering the course material. I came away with some ideas for my own work environment and had a good discussion on a training road map for ITIL which I found to be very useful.

Consistent teaching and good facilities

The bits that seem like they could be better:
The drawings in book of slides and in OGC book could be bigger
Using a larger version of flow drawing on Service Transition OGC book page 251, placed on the wall from start to end of course, could help assimilate relationships between proceeses.
Andy could be a bit more daring with a pen, large paper and student engagement, aiming at the difficult and less of the simple.

What did well for me:
Exam examples and the analysis post answering the question.
Use of methodical approach to answering exam questions
Reading OGC book as directed by Andy

Good suggestions Martin we'll take them on board through our CSI process although there's not much we can do about the official books.
I particularly like the wall-chart suggestion - although the one you have highlighted on page 251 is for a "green-field" transition and is, therefore, somewhat simplified.

Friendly, yet professional delivery of ITIL training backed up with 'real life' stories.

Stuart delivered the training in a down to earth way using his own experiences to demonstrate key points. This worked very well indeed. He was open to challenge and debate and kept us on track very well. The course materials are excellent and I found the added glossary very useful. The staff at Sysop are very welcoming and the facilities are very good.

My recent experience with Sysop was excellent. From the quality of the course reference materials to the venue and refreshments - all was first class. The trainer was very knowledgeable, delivered well and was very approachable. I would be very happy to return to them for future training and recommend them to you.

Excellent ITIL training

A well structured 3 day training course with real life examples from a knowledgeable trainer (Stuart) with years of experience in the field of ITIL. Covered the basics of IT service management at a good pace and at the end I was provided with a folder which not only covered all the sides but also in depth explanations on each slide.
