Like others, I was scammed at the station next to the hire car return centre. I tried to raise this with Tamoil direct and have so far heard nothing from them. The attendant even had the cheek to ask for a tip after scamming me!
I used my credit card to avoid any Euro change and at best needed €10. In the taxi to the airport I was charged €48.
Unbelievable this is allowed to take place and Tamoil have not seen or heard the last from me

Near Naples airport I had to top up a rental car, I had only driven 72km to my shock they charged me 68 euros. They scanned my card a attendent filled the car and I was given nothing as form of receipt. Rip of merchant avoid this company.

I have contacted them to which they say the pumps are fully calibrated. Great but that is not what happened I'm guessing someone is now driving around with free petrol in that I paid for.

Creepy experience. Pirate company, avoid their stations at all costs. If you accidentally fill in less fuel than you paid for, you can only refund the rest of the money at THAT SAME station. Of course, if you're a traveling tourist like me, your money is wasted. Thieving business policy, they are nothing but highway robbers.

If you are a tourist, you should never go to this gas station. The credit card doesn’t work and if you use cash it doesn’t give you a change, only a cupom that you cannot use outside Italy. There is nobody to help people there in case you don’t understand and there is no information in English for tourists, even in a big city like Verona.

Even worse is the info service, I have a € 16.03 cupom that I cannot use because I came back to Denmark on the 08.06, where I live. I sent an email on the 16.06.24 asking if I could have my money instead of the cupom, as I am not going to Italy any time soon.

After almost 10 days and have sent the cupom for them to see, I received the e-mail below which I have translated from Italian to English:

Dear Customer,

from checks carried out, a refund was attempted for the receipt that was attached to us from 1.30 pm, again on 06.07.24 at 1.39 pm.

This unsuccessful refund attempt resulted in the issuing of a further receipt.

We remind you that each operation carried out corresponds to the issue of a receipt and the credit passes onto the new receipt.

This additional receipt issued was fully refunded, for an amount equal to €16.03, on 16.06.24 at 12.17pm.

We therefore regret to confirm that it will not be possible to proceed with your request.

As I came back on the 08.06.24 from Venice to Copenhagen, where I live, and I was even sending them an e-mail on the 16.06, this is obviously not true.

I truly upset as I have never imagined to receive this kind of treatment.
Now I don’t have neither the cupom nor my money back.

This is not a service to trust.
