Written by the company

Back in 2006 the world of whole-leaf tea was boring, stuffy and outdated. Meanwhile, cool things were happening in the world of coffee. We saw the opportunity to get everyone drinking real tea again! And by real we mean big leaf and big on flavour. So, in November 2006 teapigs was born. Our mission today is the same as it was back in 2006: to get everyone drinking top quality, whole-leaf, great tasting tea - and to do business a bit differently while we're at it. All natural. No nasties. BIG leaf = BIG flavour. Simple!

Want to give no stars but not possible

Want to give no stars but not possible. I’ve been a teapigs customer for years and never had a problem. Until now. My goodness. I thought it was just me, until I read the reviews and the same thing has happened to so many others. Have a subscription, and they sent the wrong tea. Can’t seem to get hold of anyone in customer services, just constant AI messages. They said they had to investigate why I was sent the wrong tea. Now they are saying their systems are undergoing maintenance and they don’t recognise my order. I can’t even register a return, as my order doesn’t exist.

Website not fit for purpose

They sent me an email saying I had a subscription due but was totally unable to see the subscription when I logged in but I was charged and the subscription delivered. I have contacted their customer service but they are yet to have solved this after several days. Not happy with their lack of concern regarding this.

Have not refunded unopened returns. Thieves.

I cancelled my subscription twice and still got sent tea. I then received a returns label, and sent both boxes back. I have proof of posting and sent as requested. The company have not refunded me, nor have they replied to my emails. I am £60 out of pocket and want my money back. This has been at least six weeks.

Only giving this 1 star because I can't…

Only giving this 1 star because I can't give it no stars. Teapigs have a shiny new website so now I can't amend my subscription as it's disappeared. I contact them and get a dismissive response. I contact them again and this time am told they will look into it. A week later I get an email saying my subscription is being sent, the one I don't want, and they are claiming a recurring payment. Try to phone them, the message says leave your details the mail box doesn't accept messages. I try customer services chat. Get fobbed off. Perseverance leads to an undertaking to escalate. I should get a response in 2 days. By which time my unwanted order will be here and I will be £30 lighter in the pocket. My chat is then ended even though I was typing a reply. Like the products but really this is a shambles. I'm sure I can't be the only person affected by these issues.

Rank Incompetence

Been trying to STOP a subscription making an order for the last week, but the account section has remained stubbornly empty, and customer service has given the same excuse of migrating sites and integrating accounts etc., while not doing anything about the request at all. Payment has still bee taken.

Given all the recent reviews, I doubt I'm ever going to receive the order I didn't even want, to boot!

I hope the new system is worth the loss of customers

I’ve been ordering from Teapigs for a few years, I definitely won’t be ordering from them again or buying teapigs from any other supplier. They took £69 from me over 2 weeks ago and I haven’t received either my order or the refund I requested. Whatever their new system is I suspect they may find it was a very expensive mistake !!

No order after 2 weeks

No order after 2 weeks. Contacted customer service via their messaging platform. Got a quick canned reply saying bear with us while we migrate our system, my problem has been escalated to a team who are working on it right away etc etc Their software migration problems are not the customers problem. No refund and no product after 2 weeks. Will be contacting my bank soon.

Slow delivery, wrong tea and zero customer service

My subscription order was delayed and when it arrived contained the wrong tea. I have contacted them twice via their contact form and am yet to receive any help. Their reply said they would be in touch soon but they had new warehouse/ computer systems but I’ve heard nothing. Today I tried to ring. No reply but I was invited to leave a message and guess what, their mail box is full. The one thing they have managed to do was take my subscription of £58.22 I would not order anything from them at the moment, they’re a mess!

Product not received, awful customer service.

I am now approaching a fortnight of no order being received. I keep chasing online, but no one is providing any updates or being helpful...at all. I have asked for a refund and complaints policy but this has been ignored. Awful customer service received, will not be ordering from again.

Not fulfilled order, poor customer service

Placed order over 2 weeks ago, should have been delivered within 2-3 days but still no sign of dispatch. Has been a nightmare to contact the company, most links to their “Contact Us” page were broken and I could only send a message on their platform by setting up a new account, it wasn’t enough that I had already placed an order. Since then I keep requesting a refund and for the order to be cancelled and keep getting told it’s being passed on to a different team who will be looking into it. The worst customer service I have encountered in at least the last decade.

Tea infested with bugs and no refund

Tea infested with bugs. I received an email from Teapigs Head of eCommerce explaining which batches were affected and what customers should do. Six weeks later, I'm still waiting for a refund.

There is no way to actually speak to anyone. They've clearly switched to some form of AI or outsourced customer service that refuses to provide any concrete answers and instead blames a website migration for being unable to process a refund.

I've been using Teapigs for years, but never again. Failing to refund a customer after sending out bug-infested tea is completely and utterly shameful.

Here's a tip, Teapigs: AI isn't the future if it's replacing genuine customer service. And without customers, your new website is irrelevant.

Abysmal service, still waiting for my order. No status or tracking updates since placed 10 days ago. Have asked for cancellation and refund, been told customer service require 2 to 3 days to respond! What???

Very poor service all round

Very poor service all round. I had been a regular customer of teapigs but won’t use them or recommend them again after my latest experience. I placed an order a fortnight ago which didn’t materialise. On checking their website there was a small note saying that they were moving warehouse and that orders might be delayed but this wasn’t there at the time I placed the order and wasn’t communicated to customers who had already placed an order. I emailed asking for an update and was told to wait until after the 22nd July. I waited and emailed again and they then asked for information I had already given them which was in the email trail. My order never came and I had to request a refund twice and am still waiting for this. The whole experience was extremely poor.

Disappointing lack of action

Have had a regular (fortnightly)subscription for a long time. My husband and I drink copious amounts of green tea. Our last order (14th July) has yet to arrive and the fortnightly subscription is due again tomorrow. I have contacted Tea Pigs multiple times. While full of apologies and explanations, when they do respond, I am yet to see decisive action to get my order to me ( 2x50 packs and 1x15). Last Tuesday 21st July. I was assured that the order would go out next day (22nd) via next day delivery at no extra cost to me. (You really needed to say that?). It didn't happen and here we are on 27th and I am still non the wiser as to if or when I might receive my order @£28.77.
Very disappointing after all these years without issue.

It’s 2026 and this is what you came up with?

Wow guys, the service recently has been bad enough, but what have you done to the website?

Toddlers reflect the human face better with a paper plate and some pasta than you’ve managed to represent Teapigs in a web browser. Christ almighty.

Rubbish experience

Recently one of our bags was recalled...no problem there was in issue, it happens. Then I made an order for 6 different boxes as I usually would. Got an email to say one was out of stock, again this happens. However was then informed that during moving warehouses that my order would then be delayed, and was given another date for delivery. This came and went and another email.promised a different date. When they eventually came it was two boxes of teapigs I DID NOT order! God knows what has happened to my original order im waiting on another reply.
Fantastic teabags, rubbish customer service
