They didn’t let us go to teide peak even we had permit and we fulfilled all requirements. Because we didn’t got crampons… They assumed we would guess that they require it because of snow. With very little snow on trail... I have been on many mountains with more snow on trail, with good mountain boots (just like today) and nobody had any problems with that... We wasted 150 eur and they refused to give them back! Don’t waste your money on teide! For 50 slots they allowed only a few people to enter the peak...

I recently visited Tenerife and downloaded the TenerifeON app to book hiking routes that require permission. Unfortunately, my experience with the app was disappointing. To help improve the app for future hikers, I have compiled a list of issues I encountered. 

Feedback:

- When booking for two adults sometimes, the app only allows entering details for one person.

- Despite using the latest version, I encountered a "Something went wrong" error, preventing successful bookings. Multiple attempts were necessary.

- The app repeatedly prompts to download the latest version from the Play Store, even when it's already updated.

- The German language version contains numerous incorrect or faulty translations.

- Forms differ between the web and app versions, leading to confusion. On the web version you have to enter date with exact time slots, in the app only a date ist required. Making the app the better more flexible choice.

- Favorites marked on the website do not appear in the app, even after several minutes.

- Links cannot be opened within the app. (No support for App-Links)

- The app is slow and overloaded with animations.

- The hiking map doesn't function offline, rendering it inefficient during hikes without internet access. (Which are many routes near the El Teide)

- The map doesn't display the user's current location, making it difficult to identify nearby routes.

- The PNT7 route to El Teide has additional requirements like specific footwear and jackets, which are not mentioned in the app or during reservation.

- The website is extremely slow; developers should review performance reports, such as those from Google's PageSpeed Insights.

In conclusion, the TenerifeON app requires significant improvements to enhance user experience and functionality. If I weren’t required to use this app to make reservations, I would never use this app. I consider it worse than any traditional hiking map. It’s a real disappointment for tourists visiting such a beautiful island.
