Awful

Awful! They don’t listen to requests re disability even when confirmed twice even the day before … when asked about it they are very confrontational and then dismissive. Completely ruined a birthday party , never again!

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the experience we had during the children's party hosted at your venue on 12/07/2026. Unfortunately, the event did not meet the expectations set by your promotional materials and the assurances given beforehand. I would like to outline the key issues encountered:

Lack of Air Conditioning: The venue was stiflingly hot and lacked proper air conditioning, making it uncomfortable for the children and adults alike. This significantly impacted the enjoyment of the event. Additionally, the balloon animals made by your staff were even popping in the heat, and the children had sweat dripping off them, which was quite uncomfortable and disappointing.

Failure to Follow Up on Dietary and Access Needs: In your email confirmation, it was stated that a team member from the Coventry venue would contact us before the event to discuss dietary requirements and access needs, which are paramount for at least two children in the party with additional needs. Unfortunately, this contact never occurred, which caused unnecessary concerns and a lack of preparation for their specific requirements.

Arrival and Lane Allocation: We arrived promptly at 9:45 AM as confirmed via email. Upon arrival, we clarified that we had booked two separate parties – one for my 13-year-old daughter and her friends, and another for my 10-year-old son and his friends. We agreed on three lanes: one for my son and four friends, one for my daughter and four friends, and a third lane for the smaller siblings (three children) whom I had paid for. We were allocated lanes 11, 12, and 13.

Issues with Lane Allocation, Screen Usage, and Equipment: Lane 11 was initially occupied when we arrived. After about 10 minutes, the occupying family left, and we took over the lane. However, from around 10:05, we faced issues with the screens. The screens displayed six players on lane 11 and four on lane 12, which caused confusion and required staff intervention to correct. Despite multiple attempts to rectify this—explaining the situation to different team members—the problem persisted for over 15 minutes, leading to frustration among the children. Additionally, one of the bowling bumpers did not work, and balls kept getting stuck, further disrupting the game.

Party Bag and Party Recognition: During this time, my son received a party bag, but my daughter was overlooked initially. I had to clarify that her party was also booked and paid for, which was eventually acknowledged.

Food Quality: The pizzas served were of poor quality. The first six were acceptable, but the portion sizes of the chips were inadequate for children of this age. The subsequent eight pizzas were dry, burned on the bottom, and inedible (see attached photos). I had to send these back, leaving the children hungry and uncomfortable, especially given the lack of air conditioning.

Bar Service: The bar service was extremely disappointing. It took approximately 20 minutes to receive drinks ordered via the QR code at the table, during which time the bar staff were just standing around talking and not attending to customers. This added to the overall poor experience and frustration.

Overall, for £13.99 per child, I do not believe the value of this party was justified given the multiple issues faced during the event. In hindsight, I would have preferred to pay for two games of bowling and take the children to a venue like McDonald's, where they could have enjoyed a proper meal in a comfortable, air-conditioned environment.
I hope you take these concerns seriously and address the shortcomings outlined. I would appreciate a response outlining any steps you plan to take to improve the experience for future guests.

Could be brilliant just isn't unfortunately

Coventry tenpin is a gold mine with all the activities under one roof. You could literally spend a good part of your day there.
It's just a shame the staff/place is so unorganised.
Food orders took ages to come out even after revisiting the staff members as it had been 20+ minutes no one could tell us where our order was or if it was coming anytime soon. When it did come out the staff had 0 clue about what it was and where it was supposed to go.
Unsure if Coventry is understaffed and that's the issue because at times, no one was on the bar or the reception but there were no staff in sight anywhere.
Before coming we were informed about how things worked and the food offering but when we arrived it was nothing like was mentioned and the food offering was totally different.

Overall everyone still had a good time there and I would return but only for an activity and we would skip the food and go somewhere else

soft play coventry

Attended soft play coventry
Unfortunately stayed under an hour due to the intense heat & sensory overload. I understand all the different experiences you offer. Having the soft play next to all the gaming, slot machines didn’t make it a pleasant experience with a 2yr old & heavily pregnant mum.

Kids laser tag party….

Kids laser tag party was supposed to start at 16.30 and due to not having enough staff had to wait until the 17.00 staff started so didn’t actually start 17.10.
This caused kids to become restless and annoyed and hungry. This then had a knock on with parents coming to collect thier children before the party had finished so ended up with kids missing ongoing swimming lessons. This was really unprofessional and a really disappointing party.

Staff at the bar they don't know what they doing.
Also i have place order for the bar online, how they advice. 15 min later nobody didn't start doing until I didn't start asking for this at the bar. Girls at the bar wasn't really happy.

Very disappointing experience overall…

Very disappointing experience overall i’m coventry Tenpin . The only member of staff who was polite and welcoming was Georgia .
I’ve visited twice now, and on both occasions, the rest of the staff came across as rude, unfriendly, and uninterested in helping customers.
We also ordered pizza, but it took an extremely long time to arrive. When we asked how long it would be, no one could even provide an estimated waiting time, took over 35 minutes !

The most frustrating part was the escape room. We waited around 18 minutes for a member of staff to come and open the room and start the game, but that delay was taken out of our booked session. We paid for a 60-minute experience but only got around 42minutes. When we raised this with the staff, we were simply told they were busy. That may explain the delay, but it doesn’t justify charging customers for time they didn’t received especially when we were still expected to leave as soon as our shortened session ended.

Overall, the customer service was poor, and I wouldn’t recommend the experience based on how we were treated

Couple of issues

Had to change lanes as the barriers got stuck down when we needed them up, walked a mile to reception to report this. Ordered drinks by our lane using the app and they forgot one drink so i had to walk a mile back to the bar to get it. When you are at the furthest lane and things arent going well, the walk to reception right at the furthest point at the back of the building is so frustrating. They need another point of contact at the entrance that can communicate with reception to make the experience better. This was coventry. Bowling itself was great, just a couple of things let it down. It was also my sons birthday so this added stress to the fun.

In my opinion it needs new staff that…

In my opinion it needs new staff that know what there doing, when you order on the app, your drinks don't come to the table, you have to go up to the bar to get them yourself 20 min later. It isn't as good as it used to be, the arcade is very poor, not enough ticket machines they have got rid of the good ones, and there's only 1 big 10p pusher machine and that's it. Would I visit again, I'm not sure.
