Disgraceful, they seem to enjoy making you wait and winding you up... About 5 mins between each response and asking for needless information. They're an embarrassment... I'll be leaving Tesco Mobile as soon as my contract is up!
Useless shower of sh...s. 20 mins on the chat live before it asks the same questions repeatedly. Absolute waste of time. No customer service at all. Just wasting more customer time. Conscienceless people.
I have routinely used Tesco mobile in the UK, no problems. On arriving in Ireland I purchased two Tesco SIMS. What a mistake. I week in and I still cannot make a phone call.
The help web sites are horribly out of date and contain incorrect information. Mobile internet is the only reliable service.
It is my considered opinion that the Ireland Tesco Mobile is a train wreck into a dumpster fire full of excrement.
I strongly advise against wasting your money on this service.
Always bad coverage and signal for interrnet doesn't last 3 days and it's supposed to be for the month as its not unlimited for 15 a month, the amount of people complaining about tesco is a joke go with gomo lads 15 euro a mouth for 4g and unlimited Internet calls and texts and international calls. I was also 20 mins on the phone trying to get through and no answer worst network I've ever been with in nearly 30 years and I've been with many. What a complete joke too many red flags and by the reviews on this it backs my story up.
I am giving a review on a customer service representative named"Buddy"! His help, patience and detail he offered on all plans, phones and services were excellent. He went above and beyond to answer my queries and is an asset to the company! Thank you! I will be staying with tesco mobile to renew my contract!
The tariffs and the app are incomprehensible, credit vanishes into thin air and it is impossible to send SMS to non-Tesco users.
I’m giving up on trying to find out why my caller ID is grey out on a Tesco purchased phone, I have spent an hour or so on live chat with Tesco’s customer care on three occasions. Even though Mervin from Tesco’s live chat was pleasant and trying to solve the problem, he gave up and said he would request the technical dept to look into and solve the problem with in 4 to 5 days. Nearly 4 weeks later I’ve not heard a thing, this is the third attempt I’ve given Tesco’s mobile.ie to deal with my problem and never getting a reply. Seems to me that customer care just fobs off genuine enquiries with politeness and nothing else hoping customers will just give up. I’ve been with Tesco’s mobile for 10yrs its a shame that I’m now considering changing to another competitor.
Been with a few different phone networks but Tesco has been the worst by far. I pay €15 Monthly for 15G of data and it doesn’t even work outside. Can understand if I was in a bad area with bad service but I’m not. This has been going on continuously and is at a point where it is not normal. Highly recommend to stay away and I am switching myself when I get my new phone soon.
Avoid. Unlimited data is not Unlimited. And charge a fortune if you go over. No help from customer care.
Update (5 Stars): The Tesco Mobile Ireland 4G has been working like a champ. My son has been using Wifi tethering to piggy back off my connection, it worked perfectly for both of us. We have been travelling in the countryside, it has been consistent coverage.
Update (3 stars): As if by magic. 4G has started to work. Speedtest results: 126 mbps down / 13 mbps up and 26 ping. If the 4G service is reliable I will raise to 5 star rating.
First review (1 star): The roaming ran out on my UK sim so I purchased a Tesco Ireland Mobile sim for €15 / unlimited data. My phone, an S 20fe, received the configuration and configured itself. It connected to the network but only works on 3G. I called customer service and was told by Zoe that there are service outages. I can see there is a Tesco 4G signal available under network operators. I can also see that Tesco Ireland has 1.5 out of 5 rating on Trustpilot. Tomorrow, I shall go to a reputable mobile ISP and buy a sim that works.
From the Tesco Mobile Ireland website:
"Your Price Plan
The plan you’ve signed up to with your mobile operator may include a certain technology, e.g. you might have access to 3G but not 4G."
Perhaps Tesco needs to come clean about what they are selling? Did I buy a service limited to only 3G?
Texts come in delayed coverage is terrible most of the time I can’t even hear who I’m calling or it just says called failed.I have so many other problems with this company there just utter **** don’t bother you time oh yeah and there most expensive phone company out there at the moment rip-off
Can’t get anyone on the phone! I’m trying to continue my business with them as I’m out of contract. I’ve selected every option available to speak to someone and it just keeps playing the mind numbing tune over and over. Are there any humans working in Tesco? Awful service guys. And I’m horrified at reading all the previous stuff. Not a single positive review.
Surely you can’t be that bad and be allowed to continue?
Update: I’ve contacted via chat and told them I’m switching to Gomo. €14.99 per month and unlimited everything!
they're an utter garbage! Phone, 6mo 7mo old, full warranty, mint condition, display stopped working. Called the support, I was told to bring it to a local tesco. After I did, I was told I have to go to another tesco 30km away. Dropped the phone there and nothing. 3 weeks later I came by, as I have not received any update and there was no phone number. I was told they have no update. So I waited another few weeks, called 10 times, chatted, emailed. Nothing. I was told that I have go there personally. The staff apologized blaming DPD for a late collection - so it turned out, they held my phone for nearly 6 weeks in the store, before even sending it out for a repair. Now again, no update, no email, no phone call. Luckily I still had the original repair number from their vendor site where the status changed to "warranty void" - charge 145, waiting for a response. I don't know where to respond to. and I'm not paying 145euro. nearly 7 weeks just to be told that you have to pay 145euro! this is a bad joke. If I knew they'd gonna eff me over like this, I'd just buy a brand new screen on aliexpress fore €35 and fix it myself. Tesco, thank you for being such a piece of sheet! I'm really glad I left your lovely network 7 months ago. Btw, just a little detail - throughout the EU while roaming with tescomobile - forget it. they have no internet. Large cities, you get 3g. Smaller towns, you get either Edge, or nothing. Yes, they're using o2 network, but other carriers that are using o2 network will give you a proper speed and connection. Avoid tesco - they're ripoff garbage
Xiaomi phone, please don't get this phone, you will be stuck with if you are on a contract and like me had to go for a budget phone. This phone is awful, looks nice but don't work. You lose connection all the time, if you ring someone or they ring you, they cannot hear you, no sound. I've been into Tesco mobile, never have i meet an disinterested person before. I've contacted on FB, again no joy. Take note, avoid avoid avoid.
Absolute rubbish. No manners, and hopeless customer support. No signal in our area (rural Tipperary) for last 2.5 weeks. Normally acceptable with no dropped calls and 4g inside the house. But recently the network has dropped and all I get is NO NETWORK. Tried getting through to them on webchat but all I got was sighs and groans because I am old and not very tech savvy. TM shop in Nenagh did better (well done Catherine and Lisa)
I would not recommend TM to anybody and will be reporting to the regulator and leaving for 3 asap. Anyone considering TM I would say go to a proper network and not one that is only playing at being a network provider. Negative reviews campaign coming up methinks.
I recently was having a lot of network issues with my phone, dropped calls and people saying they called but could not get through, I had called Tesco support 25 times but I was shocked to hear that even though I had made these calls they had not escalated it. I was advised to send in the phone for repair and I purchased a new phone to cover the days, issues still happened which means it was a network issue, I then had a call to say my phone needed new glass front and back, it was fine when I handed it in and have evidence to prove this, when I said I was going to Comreg all of a sudden I am getting a new phone and €100 credit for my future bills, pathetic service.
Today’s the 4th day of Eid and Tesco line is crashed in Newross for two days. I could not ring my relatives, I couldn’t finish the jobs …. Huge disappointment .
I saw a phone I wanted for cheap in Tesco, but the catch was I needed to switch to the Tesco network. Big mistake... The connection constantly drops on a daily basis. It's absolute rubbish. Places where I go walking and used to have a perfect signal is no more. As I am writing this the connection has completely gone from my phone for the last 20 minutes... Luckily I have fiber broadband in the house. I'm switching back as soon as I can unlock my phone. Need to be with Tesco for 9 months before I can do that though... or else spend 150 euro on credit and then they will unlock it.
I had to use another network to post here. This theft shouldn't be allowed. These aholes sign you up to a contract and expect you to pay monthly??
Bar one other this is the worst customer service I've ever dealt with .I've been on a constant loop of emails asking me the same question, only to answer the questions honestly and be validated, then have to send on my IMEI codes which are perfectly sent ,and the get another e mail sending me back to the security questions I've all ready answered, which they now say are invalid, talking to a operator is nearly as bad,re answering the same questions all over again, being told the answers are not valid, what a insane system, there was one girl I talked to who was help full, gave her all the information she said no problem it was sorted.relief but then there crazy process starts all over again.i do know my address and my mother's name and everything else.do yourself a favour. Stay away from them, plus an post gives a way better deal for 15 euros a month 50 mb
