Avoid Ashton. Staff couldn’t care less. Slow service. Returned food because it was cold. They are more interested in chatting and eating themselves than taking care of customers. Will never return.

TGIs Rushden Lakes

TGIs Rushden Lakes, Bedford

Went on a Wednesday evening. Party of two. The prices are seriously over-priced. £16 for a cocktail (but 2 for price of one)! Over £20 ish for a chicken fajita... The bill was around £80 for two. The service was poor and food took a long time to arrive, which the server did acknowledge. The server passed the table numerous times before taking empty plates away and left off my beer when bringing drinks over and never realised until i had to follow it up. Never even offered water. And server passed table numerous times, but we had to eventually just request the bill. The server said they would do something about the bill to compensate, but only took off an optional service charge (!), which we would have taken off anyway.

Something more should have been done about the table next to us. There were about half a dozen lads with bike helmets placed all on the table and floor next to our table with most of the lads not even eating, but had just joined their friends to hang out and some just stood crowding around the table and they were there a long time. The server, to be fair, did ask them if they wanted to put the bike helmets behind the bar instead, but they didn't want to - but as theyweren't dining, they should have been asked to politely move on and it should have been appreciated how it might impact the atmosphere for other diners spending a lot of money.

On the positive side, when it did arrive, the food was nice (not worth the money, though).

Sorry TGIFridays

Sorry TGIFridays, slow service on a quite day, warm beer twice, and an overcooked steak, not worth the money, may as well have gone to McDonald's for a burger!

“Exciting changes” you’ve made points worth less goods. Goodbye.

“REWARDS We’ve made some exciting changes to our Fridays Rewards® Program”
Exciting? Exciting? You have changed your points rewards suddenly without warning so people have to spend more money to get the same rewards. (£75 to get a £10 starter, now it’s £100. And, £50 to get a free side, now it’s £75). People who have earned points already LOSE money/ points value without warning. We don’t think that’s fair so we have stopped going!!!!

RACISM! Black People Beware!

RACISM against BLACKS!!!
It was Sat 18th May 24 approx. 6:15pm when I took my partner to Rushden Lakes TGI Fridays for her Birthday meal, only to be faced with a racial black hater who also happened to be a waitress actually working for TGI in her capacity... I was the only black person sitting at my table. Both of us together with her parents witnessed the entire show and raised our eyebrows each time. Firstly, we had to upgrade our seating, and it was at this point the hater made herself quite obvious with her dirty looks and rude attitude, then, when we then moved, she kept avoiding eye contact with me but would give the occasional dirty look whenever she could. This became more obvious when the food actually arrived; 3 plates came first including my plate which she then realised she held in her hands together with the other server who held the other two plates. She blatantly refused to serve me my plate despite me saying loudly that the dish was my order, and served it to the person who sat across the table from me instead, who then had to give it to me. This was strange, and could only be construed as racism. Now, I have been frequenting TGI for years, but this is a wake-up call for all black people out here! I hate what she’s done to us and how she made us feel, speak up if this ever happened to you. I will name and shame if given the opportunity to do so.

Extortionate pricing nowadays

Extortionate pricing nowadays, even in the current climate. Cost over £70 for two mains & two drinks. A couple of years ago, the same meal was about £40. And they don't even do the Jack Daniels glaze anymore... The place was near empty when a couple of years ago we'd have had to book at the time we went. Not surprised, as its a total rip off. Can get much better elsewhere at that price, so can't say I'll ever return sadly.

Poor service & Poor Quality Serving

@Madrid: Poor service! We should have known from the door step welcome and turned straight away out. It did not bother anyone that we were at the door waiting to be assigned to seats. Friendly approach for orders but it took ages to get delivered. One order were without the needed dip. When following up the waitress did not want to understand. The ribs were served along the fries really poor looking. The Nachos were only a handful from the Nacho Combo, but delicious. One of our orders were not placed and we had to follow up to find out, re ordered after all were done eating. :( We got apologies thats it. Cocktails were delicous. Next time will rethink of going to TGIF.

TGI’s Staines-upon-Thames

TGI’s Staines-upon-Thames, poor to say the least, 2 out of 3 of the mains had issues. I ordered the Ultimate Ribs, what came to the table I can only describe as something that you would expect from a Wetherspoon. My friend ordered the ultimate Mixed Grill, after confirming how he would like his steak, the waitress put the wrong meal through and he ended up with the Ribs also, a Wetherspoon special.
The drinks were ordered and after waiting 30 minutes, we had to chase them up, as they had been forgotten ( the waiters words).
The initial seating time was good, but it felt like as soon as you were seated at a table it went down hill, slow service, forgotten about for the drinks, the meals took an age to come out, weren’t very warm, were poor quality and incorrect.
We weren’t the only table with issues, one table complained that they had sent one of their meals back 4 times as it was incorrect, something to do with their child being allergic to something on the plate.
We were staying in the area for the night and were a walk-in, but If this is the standard of the service and food you get there now, we certainly won’t ever be going in again and next time we’ll just keep on walking. Complete waste of money, over £100 for a Wetherspoon experience.

Food terrible, rip off prices, cocktail con

Braintree. Food terrible, small portions, tough steak overcooked, corn on cob was so dry like it had been microwaved 2 times. So expensive, I will go to my local pub next time.

Buy 1 cocktail get one free, biggest con ever as1 cocktail costs £16 pounds. I’m disgusted!

Lack of variety on the menu

Booked table for 4 this evening. First of all would like to say the lady attending to us was really lovely.
We noticed the menu was a lot less than it was last year. Hubby is a Pescatarian and there was no fish or shellfish on the main menu. We asked if any of the fish starters could be served as a main. She went back to the manager and was told they could not do that. They would pass this feedback on to head office and she was so sorry. We decided to eat somewhere else where they was a more varied menu catering to all requirements.
It’s sad to see how this particular branch has gone downhill. It used to be the place to go to after work and i remember having to wait ages for a table because it was so popular. I wouldn’t even class this place as a restaurant anymore
The menu has drastically reduced, there isn’t enough variety anymore and the prices are ridiculous. £20 for a burger!
In the few times we have visited in the last three years we’ve noticed the floors and table are always so sticky and some of the chairs can do with being replaced.

TGI - chaos Fareham

TGI - Fareham.
Chaotic is the best description. Booked table for 5pm - got there 10 minutes early and explained we had a member of our party who couldn't climb stairs. We were asked to wait as our table wasn't quite ready. Waiting area was awful - quite shabby with kids running in and out from outside and banging the door.
At 5pm we were told our upstairs seats were ready - we explained again that we had told them we could not climb the stairs so we were asked to wait 5 minutes whilst they cleared a ground floor table.
Many people were coming in without reservation and being seated - eventually after 20 minutes we left. When we told them we were leaving they had no idea who we were - so we had been forgotten about.
Wont go again!

Zero stars if I could.

Shown to an absolutely filthy table in TGI Bracknell, set with dirty cutlery and food spilled onto the seats. Honestly won't be surprised if I'm ill real soon. Took ages to get a drinks order taken then after ages only one drink arrived to our party of 5. Eventually got a food order taken and I can not tell you how nasty, awful, dry, stale, small, cold the food was. We saw the 'chef' pouring microwave rice from a sachet onto a plate! And EXPENSIVE. A small portion of chicken nuggets and hard chips for £20?!! Burgers were dry, no melted cheese, no sauces. Terrible service, very slow. Would not go back ever. Highly recommend you give it a miss, for your health and your wallet.

THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE: TGI FRIDAYS DERBY

- Trying to get the attention of a member of staff was consistently a battle.

- The 2 New York Strip steaks which were requested to be cooked Medium Rare arrived as well done as tough chewy boot leather. When we eventually flagged down a waitress to let her know of the mistake, she just said “Okay” and rushed off. We could only assume that she was then going to head to the kitchen to get 2 fresh steaks prepared but like I say, that was an assumption because we weren’t told anything. There was nothing explained like “I’m sorry about that, I’m going to let the kitchen know and get them to make you both a fresh steak prepared as a priority” after 10 minutes we asked the waitress “Sorry, is anything happening about the steaks?” That’s when she said yes, the kitchen is making fresh ones. A further 10 minutes later, 2 fresh steaks arrived. By this point 20 minutes had passed and everyone else on the table had finished their meal. The steaks this time were “better” but one of the steaks was still 60% thick fat and was extremely unsatisfying. We all agreed we had seen and tasted much nicer steak dinners at Wetherspoons for a fraction of the price.

- The food overall on everyone’s plate was quite dry and bland but by this point we were just grateful for anything and couldn’t be bothered to complain again. It was a battle with the first mistake.

- I would advise everyone to request to see the prices of the draught lager when ordering so you don’t get the shock we did on the bill. 1 pint of draught lager is a staggering £6.75 and still now I just can’t believe that’s the price! London prices in Derby, if the service and products were outstanding I wouldn’t mind so much, but that is NOT the case.

- Then came the bill. It took the staff 3 times to get the bill correct. Firstly we noticed that FOUR New York Strip Steaks were on the bill….. “Excuse me” so that was taken and changed. Then we noticed the drinks were incorrect, one of the girls was being charged for each individual drink despite requesting a “bottomless” soft drink. Well it took 2 attempts to get the drink’s rectified and eventually the accurate bill arrived.

- It’s important to note that our visit was in the Derbion Shopping Centre restaurant at 5:15pm on a Wednesday and the restaurant was probably running at around 20% capacity, so very quiet. I dread to think the lack of service, communication, clarity and quality which would be experienced when the restaurant is actually busy! Also, not once did a single member of staff approach our table during our meal to ask us “Is everything okay with your food?” Like what always happens at every other establishment I ever visit for a meal.

- Overall the restaurant was quite sparse with staff (understandable during quieter periods) however the staff which were available were unprofessional, un-confident, showed poor communication skills & overall incompetent. The food was unsatisfactory, very dry, bland and of course brought the issues I’ve explained above. Everything felt a battle to rectify. TGI’s (especially the Derby branch) used to be AMAZING but I personally hadn’t visited since covid and the difference across all aspects of the restaurant is just awful in comparison. I certainly will not be visiting again!
