We visited the xscape Castleford branch…

We visited the xscape Castleford branch as it was my birthday after we had been bowling. We were a table of 8. On arrival out server came and we placed drinks order - 10 mins later the drinks arrived and we went on to order food. The prices have gone up considerably since our last visit but so has everything - happy to give it a try. The restaurant was relatively quiet. The starters arrived and we had no cutlery - I asked the staff member nothing arrived - I had to ask a further 2 times before she brought the cutlery - (5 mins had passed then ) she brought 5 sets of cutlery then asked how much cutlery we needed - I told her we’re a table of 8 ? So we’d need a further 3 sets - these arrived a few mins after . I ordered calamari - this was brought with no sauce - when I asked I was told they didn’t have any of the sauce - no apology just asked if she could get me anything else - I opted for mayo ! Once finished the starter plates were left on the table ( even though plenty of staff passed by ) the food took ages to arrive it was 9.30 by this time ( table was booked for 8pm) and our mains had just started to filter out - bearing in mind the starter plates were still on the table when mains were coming out - I had to ask for them to be removed. Food arrived portion sizes were poor - the ULTIMATE ribs had nothing ultimate about them and were a staggering 30 pounds - the ribs arrived with no slaw or sauce - when asked we were told they had run out - my husband had to go get his own sauce as these again didn’t arrive quick enough after being told they would be brought to the table - the pasta was slightly dried out - probably due to sitting under the heat lamp whilst all other food was ready - no staff came to table to ask how food was until we had finished - I explained about the slow poor service - no cutlery - long wait times - starter plates no moved and the fact that on my email booking it states kindly for us to vacate the table by 9.40 ! Obvs this was not possible due to the slow poor service - we were offered free desserts for the table - ( bearing in mind desserts are priced between 10-12 pounds ) I explained we weren’t wanting desserts and could we have discount on the bill instead - he went back to speak to the manager once again - this time offered 10 percent off bill - again when the bill is over 200 pounds -10 percent is nothing compared to 90-100 pounds in desserts. The manager then came to our table to explain that she wasn’t able to offer any more discount and that we had been offered free desserts - drinks for the table and remakes of any food - I quickly told her that the only thing we had been offered by the server was free desserts ! After a lot of chatting it was clear we wasn’t going to get anywhere other than 10 percent ! BIRTHDAY MEAL RUNIED - will never ever go there again - poor slow service - overpriced food - could have gone to Iceland and done a massive chicken buffet and fries for everyone for probably less than a third of the price ! AVOID

not going there again. EVER

Really not going there again.
Table was sticky and dirty.
The place was clearly understaffed. Ordered and waited ages for food to come out.
We ordered the Tuesday full ribs for price of half rack x 2.
During our lonnnnnnnng wait, we were seated near the food service area. Husband pointed out at least 10 plates of food sitting for 10+ minutes and no one taking to tables. No wonder all
reviews say cold food.
Husband got wrong drink but couldn't be bothered to argue.
Our food was bog standard. Probably less quality than a spoons...and cold.
Ate. Paid bill and realised discount hadn't been applied.
Was then informed its in the small print you need an app code.
Well small print is an understatement. Even a nasa telescope would struggle picking that up. Massively false ad
vertising. and had already paid the bill including a tip. At no point of ordering did the staff confirm with us it was an app deal.
Tip was properly unjustified as an after-thought. Cost almost £90
For 2 mail meals. 1 starter. 1 side and 2 drinks. Total rip off tbf and not going back ever....avoid. avoid avoid
there's massively better places available .

Nachos were cold

Nachos were cold. Cheese sauce cold. Toppings looked like they were applied with a teaspoon. 1/2 chips had no toppings. No meat or chilli toppings option. 26 euro for a burger . Fries extra 5+ euro. Tasteless and bland.

TGI Fridays

TGI Fridays - London Stratford City.
Called in there Wednesday 22nd May 2024 at about 4pm. Four of us. Eventually shown to a table and forgotten. 10 minutes later the "server" walked past the window going home. She/they forgot us/ignored us. We went next door to the Italian restaurant and spent £142 and it was lovely, TGI Stratford is rubbish.

Very over priced small Menu

Went for our daughter’s 18th birthday in stoke on Trent mentioned her birthday but no acknowledgement from the staff yet other people were being celebrated. Food bang average for what was paid. Not worth the money at all, the cocktails weren’t even that nice had better elsewhere good job they were buy one get one free even then £18 for two. So ten of us went, 3 ppl had starters, 8 main meals, 2 Childs meals, 2 kids deserts, 2 adult deserts, 1 lemonade which was £3.95, 12 cocktails buy one get one free, came
To just shy of £350, we weren’t asked if we had the rewards app until I asked about the offer of kids eating free with an adult
Main meal any time of the week, they then deducted this and a desert with the offer from the app to so now £325 could have had
Proper home made food from a pub. Oh well we had a great time as a family bit would not go back

Careful with BOGOF Cocktails prices

TGI MK. Visited for lunch and cocktails Good Friday. Ordered a sharer chicken platter for 4. Yes only 2 of us 😁. Well when it arrived I thought they had forgotten half of it. If that is supposed to feed four people I wouls dread to think what would have been for 2. Carried on and has 3 cocktails each. Buy one get one free. Lovely. Came to pay and what a shocker. £75. When challenged for the BOGOF cocktails it was said that they are £18 each!!!!! Twice the price of a normal cocktail so in reality not BOGOF. There was not £18 worth of ingredients in any one of those cocktails. Never going again. Extortionate doesn't even cover it.

Bottomless Brunch fiasco

TGI Fridays Doncaster, booked a table for 9 several weeks ago, bottomless brunch, it was for a birthday, informed them of people who are gluten, lactose intolerant, and pescatarian. When we arrived yesterday, we were informed the sharing dishes is for two people. The person who was gluten intolerant, would have to choose from the main menu, which meant all of us had to choose from the main menu, the waitress tried to be helpful, but had to get someone else. It was a very take it or leave it attitude. We left without ordering. They could have informed about this at initial booking. Cherry on the cake, one of the group heard the waitress complaining we were being awful to another member of staff. I didn't realise we would be classed in the wrong, for getting clarification, on a menu not fully thought out. Will not be going again

RIP off!

Visited TGI's Cheltenham with friends, we were driving so most of us wanted coffee ie/ latte or cappucino. Coffee machine broken so had to have Americano, not a problem, i did not mind and others had tea or soft drink, we ordered loaded fries - not kidding you there were about 15 skinny fries, half a teaspoon of bacon bits and a bit of melted cheese for about £6. I am in the trade and know that the loaded fries (with the cost of living) was not even worth £4. I even took a photo as I could not believe what I saw. Either the chef was at fault, going overboard with his portion control, the Manager trying to make his GP look fantastic (I reckon in the region of 85% from what I saw) or head office for trying to make stupid amounts of profit for the shareholders and of course the CEO. Well TGI's you've just lost 6 customers plus their family and friends, word of mouth goes a long way.

Catastrophic Service and Poor Cleanliness: A Disappointing Experience

Visited the Braintree TGI's in Essex. Our experience was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, we were ignored by arguing staff, then led to a dirty, sticky table. A server eventually moved us due to a dripping air conditioning unit. Our drink order, which was misinterpreted despite a clarification attempt, resulted in wasted cocktails due to an undisclosed 'two-for-one same drink' policy.

Even the food order was botched; I ordered 'Ultimate Full Ribs' but received 'Classic Half Ribs' twice, despite correcting the server. The premises were visibly unclean, with staff showing little regard for cleanliness - a dirty napkin on the floor was ignored and food debris was swept onto the floor during table cleaning.

Overall, the chaotic atmosphere and poor service significantly tarnished our evening. It was an appalling experience I felt compelled to share.

Was a very hairy experience

I wish I’d read these reviews before going lol
Ordered chicken wings with 2 different sauces but sure it was the same sauce. Asked the waitress to check with kitchen and she never came back. She forgot.
Then our nachos came out. After a few bites we found a dodgey looking short black hair in it. Waitress took it away and brought us another one. After a few bites we then found a long blonde hair entangled in the melted cheese. I kid you not……what are the chances of that happening. .
By that time we’d had enough. The manager was nice about it and didn’t charge us for the nachos and second round of drinks.
Very expensive place for the quality of food. Ended up costing $80 for 4 greasy crockets/12 chicken wings with the wrong sauce/1 wine and 1 beer.
Will Defo NOT be going back again.

0erestaurant service and food awful

Very slow service at 02 TGI’s. Ladies toilets were disgusting with half not working, broken door locks etc.My main eventuality arrived with dried up wraps and no chicken for chicken fajitas! I cancelled and did not order anything else as everyone else’s food was tepid. Obviously run like an airport diner with people unlikely to re-visit. Never again

What an absolute disgrace

What an absolute disgrace. We visited the Ashton branch in Manchester. Book a table for 4 adults and 2x8 years olds for 8pm. The restaurant was half empty with tables preset. We were ask to stand at the bar as they were setting the table.. 20 mins later we approached and were advised they were sorry and were still setting the table….. remeber we had 2 x 8 year olds. A few moments later. I notice a waitress laying 1 napkin ever few mins ( she was stopping and taking to her colleagues. This went on for another 15 mins… I went to the hostess and advised of the situation and was advised it would be a few moments but if we wanted to sit at the table…. ( at the same point a lady in a wheelchair was asking for a table… this restaurant has 80% of all tables empty! She was advised they had no availability at all. ( test they had around 12 waiting staff who suddenly appeared and disappeared in and out of the back office ). I think it had more to do with the closing time than table availability). We ordered finally. 30 mins later as we watched adishes being left at the pass…. ( for over 30 mins) we asked where our food was… it was included in all the food that litterally was being stacked on the pass! The girls meals were cold really inedible. The adults meals were frankly diabolical. The onion ring were so hard you could bang the table ( they had dried out under the warning lights on the pass the 39 mins they had stood there). Garlic fries were completely inedible intact repugnant. None of this was the kitchen staff. The waiting staff too “waiting” literally to a different level waiting over 30 mins to deliver. I actually asked if the restaurant was a training restaurant. We complained to the manager who looked completely deflated…….. as if every customer had complained…… I guess they had. We refused to pay for the meal. But said we would pay for the drinks….. I guess it must be bad at Tgi as she came back and said. It’s free we insured on paying for the drinks. She refused! So I guess even tho we will never go there again ever. It does pay to complain. Even though we did it quietly and politely. It obviously is not a one off situation at TGI Fridays!

We Spent $60 on food here, it was all burnt over cooked and disgusting. Wrote the company sent them pics of our food. They sent us a $10 Gift Card. How is this place still open? ?
