Royal Thalassa Monastir

Just finished a 10 day holiday at the Royal Thalassa Monastir
The staff are excellent - work hard 24/7 to ensure a positive experience for all guests

Food is buffet style as you’d expect but plenty of choice and of good quality

Pool is kept spotless and prove extremely popular with everyone (including guests of other hotels who are allowed access)

Evening entertainment is varied with singers, guitarists and a saxophonist.

We were lucky our stay coincided with the “return of Mark Harris” - his sets included Motown, disco, 80s/90s/00s and plenty of favourite “sing a longs” (Tom Jones, sweet Caroline, Queen medley etc)

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel and am sure we will be back in the future

Avoid!

Spent two weeks in this hotel recently and will not be returning ever again! Without going on about it too much:
Rooms are very outdated unless you book the most expensive one
Rooms are not being cleaned
Towels being collected in mornings and not replaced till evenings
Food always cold and very repetitive
Some staff member are very nice but some extremely rude
Electrical vires hanging out of walls
Evening entertainment very poor
Glass and plastic found in volleyball court daily

This is just a small highlights of what the place looks like. Luckily enters team provided activities daily, this is the only thing that kept us there for the whole duration.

Would not recommend.

For your safety, do not book this hotel. Royal Thalassa Monastir.

For your safety, do not book this hotel. The beach doesn't get cleaned daily, I found broken glass on the beach by the deckchairs, which I nearly stepped on. Some of the staff are rude, dismissive and unhelpful. The rooms do not get cleaned properly at all. I kept finding blonde and brown hairs in the bath and dead flies in different parts of my room. They also left myself and 4 other guests stranded at a massive yearly festival, which we were lucky enough to jump on another hotels coach as no taxis circulate the area. I'm in the process of seeking therapy for that experience as it has left me with extreme anxiety. I've given 4 stars for the location as the hotel is next to Iberostar hotel, which is a proper 5 star hotel and their beach area is clean (which is where we went for beach days after finding the glass in the sand near our deckchairs). I'm absolutely appalled by this hotel and overall in complete shock by the whole experience.

A hotel that could do better

The rooms in hotel are very out of date but yet comfortable and spacious the restaurant could do with a better selection of foods. Everything is repetitive. I’m being here two weeks. You just don’t feel like going for the same thing.
As for the bar all type of alcohol they are all the same like petrol , if you want a premium spirit it is quite expensive, especially whenever you are all inclusive . especially when they only give you about 20 mL weather you’re paying for it or not .

My overall thoughts of this hotel are there too many people walking around with suits on and doing nothing to improve the Holiday experience that we go away for.
