20/10 would recommend. Stop everything you are doing and book this trip! My husband and I sailed the Amalfi Coast with Oliver (I feel very fortunate that we were able to sail with Oliver as our skipper) for my 50th birthday. I’ve had the opportunity to travel a fair amount of the world, and this was hands-down my favorite trip that I’ve ever taken. Even if you have been to Italy before there’s nothing that can prepare you for how stunning it is to see the coastline from the water. We traveled at the end of September and there were few crowds and beautiful sunny days and amazing sunsets. Oliver and our host,Rebecca, were incredibly attentive, kind, competent, and fabulously easy to hang out with. For anyone that’s ever been on a sailboat, you know It can be pretty close quarters so it’s important to sail with people who have a good sense of humor and flexibility. Oliver and Rebecca are amazingly flexible and great travel companions. The food was freshly prepared for each meal and beautifully presented. My husband and I are vegetarian and Rebecca made sure to stock the boat with sparkling waters, fresh fruits, and vegetables, as well as amazing crêpes, pancakes, frittatas, Fresh breads, cheeses, and other Italian delicacies. I had limited experience sailing, but was very interested in learning more. Oliver is a great teacher and had David and I putting up sails and steering the boat in short order. One of my favorite lifetime memories will be staring the boat at 10 kn in between islands. Oliver has a fair amount of sailing experience and was incredibly well networked. We ran into multiple captains that he has worked with in the past that held him in high esteem. It was very Reassuring to run into people that Oliver knew in port. Oliver had great recommendations for things to do at our various destinations, had local taxi drivers on speed dial, and had excellent recommendations for restaurants.
Rebecca is an excellent host. I am an avid coffee drinker and she makes fabulous European and American coffee. She was even willing to make me occasional emergency Jetlag cup of coffee.🥰.
Thing not to be missed:
The Amalfi harbor in the evening with the costal lights.
The thermal baths at Ischia and La Focolare restaurant.
The views from the top of Positano (the shopping is excellent).
The gelato in Sorento (there is a place in the main Square that shapes the gelato like a rose on the cone).

With the help of Oliver and The Big Sail, I organized a sailing trip for 18 friends around the Croatian islands. The Big Sail could not have been more helpful with any queries I had. They sourced boats that perfectly met our needs, found us fantastic skippers, and helped us navigate any covid hurdles that we inevitably had to deal with! Going further than this Oliver helped us plan an epic itinerary - and was in constant communication with us making sure that we had the best time. And we did have an epic time!

I am sure that there are bigger providers out there, but if you want a personalized service with a company that genuinely cares if you have a great time, go with the Big Sail!

We had an excellent trip in Croatia with 2 fantastic skippers and the boats met our needs well. It was our first boat trip as a big group but the space was suitable, aircon efficient, and the sails were raised enough to make us feel like we were on the Black Pearl. Cheers.

Wow - what a great trip!. We travelled around the beautiful BVIs over New Year 2019/20. The Big Sail arranged a fabulous large catamaran, which was skippered brilliantly. With input from us they crafted a really good itinerary, took us to all the sights, found beautiful moorings (a mix of secluded to occasional in marina) and arranged full provisioning. We ate sometimes on board and a few nights in restaurants along the way, all booked by The Big Sail. We were very impressed through and are looking forward to our next trip....sailing around Kefalonia! Cannot recommend highly enough!

I have nothing but the best to say about The Big Sail! I’ve been on two fabulous holidays to Croatia and BVIs and the services offered for either small or big groups are simply amazing and tailored to your needs. Very attentive and knowledgeable skippers and itineraries are well thought out taking you to amazing locations/spots. Get ready for the adventure of your lifetime!

I have been on multiple Big Sail holidays with both friends and families in groups big and small. Most recently I spent a week over New Year in the British Virgin Islands. The trip was brilliantly well organised from start to finish, enabling us all to enjoy ourselves fully throughout in the knowledge that we were in the capable hands of Oli. Oli's knowledge of the area ensured that every anchorage, bar, snorkel spot, restaurant and marina were memorable in their own right. It was without doubt one of the best holidays I have experienced and I am looking forward to the next trip! I couldn't recommend The Big Sail any higher for the sailing trip of a lifetime.

Amazing trip
We have been on a few sailing holidays as a large family, and The Big Sail organised the whole itinerary it was brilliant. By far the best company we have used, so efficient and organised, I would 100% recommend for small or large groups - we loved it and felt completely at ease from start to finish. I’ve now been on three Big Sail holidays, with a group of my closest friends to Croatia, Greece and the British Virgin Islands. The boats we’ve charted have always suited our needs perfectly and were as (or even better) than we expected and the Skippers were always very knowledgeable of the local area. Already looking forward to my next trip!

We have had a fabulous family holiday sailing in Croatia with the Big Sail. This was a new experience for our kids age 13 and twins age 12. Our skipper Oli was clearly a talented sailor who was happy to teach and involve the kids in the sailing which they really enjoyed. He combined this with being our tour guide, recommending some great restaurants, handyman, helping with shopping and food prep, playing with the kids and generally just being one of the family. His seamless service and attention to detail enabled us to have a fun, exciting and relaxing holiday. If you are thinking could this be your next family holiday I suggest you take the plunge, you will be glad you did.

I was put in contact with The Big Sail via a friend looking for a last minute holiday. I was soon in contact with Oli who was knowledgeable and quick to respond, after some discussion about location and the type of yacht we were offered a variety of lovely yachts at very competitive prices! The yacht was in immaculate condition and was a dream to sail. I have since returned from the holiday of a lifetime that was hassle free due to the service of The Big Sail. I’m looking forward to booking again next year. Would highly recommend!
