The Collection Barcelona TERRIBLE

We rented an apartment in Barcelona advertised as a luxury, strictly non-smoking property. We paid 50% in advance in March and the remaining balance in December, fully paid before arrival.

Upon arrival, the apartment was filled with a very strong cigarette smell. In the apartment’s balcony (varanda), there were several cigarette butts, clearly showing that multiple cigarettes had been smoked on the property. The odor was deeply impregnated in the curtains, sofas, and all rooms, making the apartment immediately uninhabitable. This was a clear violation of the non-smoking policy, which was a key reason we chose this property.

In addition, the shower was broken and there were holes in the walls, all documented with photos and videos.

We requested an apartment change, but the company refused. They attempted to fix the shower, but the cigarette smell was impossible to remove.

This situation was especially serious because my friend’s daughters have Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia, a serious lung condition. We sent the company a photo of the medical diagnosis, yet they still refused to relocate us.

We were forced to leave the apartment the same day and rent another place, resulting in additional costs and stress. Overall, this was a terrible experience and a clear breach of the listing and contract. We are seeking a full refund.

Booked an apartment for 6 adults

Booked an apartment for 6 adults - no hot water! Emailed contact kept being told it would be fixed - we waited 3 days and each day were told it was fixed and it was not. We had no choice but a hotel. The offer for a refund was 25 percent of the affected days. I sought a full refund for the days we left the apartment. The email was obviously AI written and phone calls were never returned. The email claims we were told the water was fixed, there was no communication from May 21-May 23. Do not use this company ever. I was hoping to use them for a long term (15 week) stay next year.

TOTAL SCAM

They advertise apartments using fake pictures. We booked a flat that looked awesome in pictures and what we found was just a series of broken furniture, missing parts, dirt and over used objects.
I list some of the mains thingd we have found:
In the second-floor bathroom there is a “hole” or a dig 15 cm deep, underneath it is not clear what is going on, but the vast humidity stain on the corresponding lower-level ceiling suggests that massive leaks have been going on for months…this is ugly to see and unsafe too.
The kitchen furniture is broken in many parts, all the profiles have "gone".
The lower bathroom has suffered so much from flooding that the base of the door is grossly damaged.
Inside the shower, the nod that is supposed to hold the shower head is broken and it is impossible to shower with free hands, a very unpleasant situation. The overall look of the bathroom is a 2-star pension (looks great on your website though)
THe ventilation system in the bathroom is so clogged with dust
The furniture under the tv in the living room is so flexed that it looks like it can break any minute.
Many other details and gross imperfections are shown in other pictures.
The chandelier in the living room seems to be precarious, detached from the ceiling.
There is a big dent behind the upper bedroom door, in the plasterboard wall.
Lastly, something that goes beyond aesthetics but compromised the comfort of our stay: one of the two single beds is missing various boards that should sustain the mattress, making it impossible to sleep on and forcing one of us to sleep in a shared bed (we were 4 men…).
