Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 185 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the quality of products, noting issues such as stitching coming undone, items breaking quickly, and materials not holding up as expected, especially for the price. Customers also frequently reported problems with customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to resolve issues, even for long-time loyal customers. AVOID AVOID AVOID - return scam

AVOID AVOID AVOID

Ripped us off - returned a jacket and said they didn't receive it. Then sent us a picture with some random clothes someone had swapped into it, which we categorically did not do.

Terrible customer care

Wow.. another one here shocked at the non-existent customer care at such an established company. They claim 2 year warranty and had me send me jacket (that broke after a year) to Poland for ”issuing” and this was 3 months ago - numerous attempt to get feedback on the matter but nothing happens. They don’t even bother answering reviews here. NEVER buying from this company against 😡

Order a jacket from them back on Black…

Order a jacket from them back on Black Friday and the quality of the jacket was very poor. I have reported and returned the item hoping I’ll get a better quality. They have refused to give me back refund and have denied getting my item. Please don’t order from this site. I should’ve read the review first

Online store is terrible

Online store looked like a scam. The order follow up does not work and I never received an update nor could I follow up on my order as the order tracking system did not work but I finally received my package. Their goods are of good quality but the purchase experience is terrible. Next time, I will use Amazon.

A Certain Death

Bought a winterjacket last year. The elastic cord on bottom went loose after a month. Went back to store. No return.

Climbing a mountain with this brand will be a certain death

Clothing dandruff

Geez. Why spend $250 on a jacket when the inner jacket breaks apart causing why I call ‘dandruff’ to flake off and cover your body? Incredibly frustrating and I WANT MY MONEY BACK DAMMIT!!!!!!

Summit 10 Vest not fit for purpose

I bought the Summit Run Vest 10 for my husband as he wanted a slightly bigger vest for marathons. The vest itself was comfortable and worked really well. The problem came after the first use. It was understandably very sweaty and salt marked and my husband threw it in the wash with his running gear - as he had done with his previous Salomon vest for several years - but didn't think to check the washing label first. It came out about the same size as a child's version and is now completely useless. Whilst I accept that he should have checked the label, who on earth makes an item that you're clearly going to get really sweaty and then thinks it's a good idea to make it hand wash in cold water. There's no way that this method would have got it clean and fresh, and I'm quite sure that we'd have been throwing the vest away pretty quickly due to the smell! I emailed customer service but just got the standard response that we'd not washed it properly. They weren't interested in engaging with us about the actual complaint, that it is unable to be properly washed. Really disappointed, as we picked this vest due to the brand name and perceived quality.

I recently purchased a pair of…

I recently purchased a pair of Paramount pro convertible hiking pants. I have owned previous versions of this pant. I wore the pants over 3 days of light hiking and threw them in the garbage. The pant was fine until you get to the belt...total rubbish! I can't believe that a design and production team could validate such crap. Wasted my money and done with TNF.

North face walking boots are dangerous

North face walking boots are dangerous! The shoe lace hooks at the side catch on things as you walk, including the laces of the other boot, tripping you up. Sent me flying several times despite my best efforts at tucking laces in etc. I’ve never had this with other boots. The boots also split after 2 weeks of light use (1 hour dog walk a day) along the inner sides where the toes crease. Wish I could return them as too dangerous to wear. I purchased Vectov Exploris.

Former Customer

The North Face used to have quality gear years ago but they have gone downhill drastically. I have a $150 rain jacket that is less than 2 years old and has been well cared for but is completely falling apart. Their warranty people said nothing can be done because that is the "NORMAL breakdown of materials over time"! How can a company make claims about "sustainability" when their gear has to be thrown away every other year?

Awful repair service from TNF

I have a TNF padded gillet - which I love - that had a couple of small holes as a result of getting caught on thorns. I tried to use the TNF repair service to get this fixed. You can only access the service via one outlet in Regent Street in central London. When you go there you are asked to choose a material from several 'close match' options - but the original material on your garment is unlikely to be available. My repair was quoted at £30 - which I would willingly have paid if it was the same material. Once the repair has been done, you have to go back down to the shop to collect it - they don't post it back. Really disappointing service that has put me off TNF. I decided not to proceed as the different material used for the repair would have made it stand out even more than the original damage. By contrast, when I needed a repair doing on a Berghaus garment, the process couldn't have been simpler. You completed an online form on their website (including a picture that shows the issue), you pay £10, they send a pre-paid/addressed box for you to post the garment to them, they do the repair and post it back within 2 - 3 weeks. TNF has much to learn.

Worthless Warranty

I bought a $400 jacket that had a "lifetime warranty." When the outer layer pretty much disintegrated with multiple rips in it with no significant trauma to the jacket, this was not covered under warranty. Won't be trusting this company again. They don't stand by their product. Obviously, I'd rather repair than buy a new jacket, but not going to spend more money on this jacket.

I bought a $250 Jacket for my trip to…

I bought a $250 Jacket for my trip to Alaska . It arrived right in time and I wear it right away. Doing my trip my zipper kept on splitting apart. I did not have a replacement jacket and hat to deal with it doing my trip which was super uncomfortable . After my trip I went to exchange it but they said they have to send it in. I did not receive any return slip what I taught was strange it has been 3 months and The North Face has not replied to me since then. I try to contact them for a few weeks now and I feel like they don’t take it serious . Never return a jacket by mail make sure they exchange it or give you your money back in the store ! If I would have to relate on this jacket I would be without it for months. I am really disappointed not just in the quality of The North Face but also by their customer service!
