Avoid This Company at All Costs! And Glasshouse Architecture and Express Pergolas Limied.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS !!
They now operate under
GLASSHOUSE ARCHITECTURE LIMITED or
EXPRESS PERGOLAS LIMITED

My experience with this company was extremely disappointing. I was acting under Power of Attorney for my daughter, who was working abroad. Despite the contract stating that major credit and bank cards would be accepted, they insisted on a bank transfer—offering no customer protection while securing immediate cash for themselves. This was the start of a very long and frustrating process.

For delivery, they requested full payment for the delivery cost before unloading the materials. We negotiated to pay only after checking that the correct materials had arrived and were unloaded. Communication from the company was excessive and, at times, aggressive. At one point, we received 18 texts in quick succession, including one stating that an additional charge of £1,000 PER DAY would be applied if payment wasn’t made within 30 MINUTES of delivery—despite the fact that they had already received approximately £20,000 upfront before a single item had been received.

Later, when we requested a final inspection meeting with only one of the company representatives, we received 10 emails in response, some of which contained irrelevant comments about the house extension and financial matters unrelated to the project.

Overall, we found the company’s approach to be highly unprofessional and difficult to deal with. If you value clear communication, transparency, integrity and a professional service, we would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

A very long and traumatic 16months that…

A very long and traumatic 16months that ended with Oakfields going into liquidation and us being left without all the products we ordered and paid for, that were allegedly ready to install in 2021! We are still trying to save back up to finish the project.
Avoid please!

Be very careful

Please be very careful of The Oakfields Group. I have had an appalling experience with them and lost thousands of pounds as a result. Paid a hefty deposit upfront under the full belief, in good faith based upon the very clear impression they gave in all our preliminary conversations, that they were undertaking all aspects of the work - design and complete construction. Only to be told several weeks AFTER paying our deposit, that in fact key aspects of the building works are excluded. They do NOT "fully install" their winter garden constructions, despite the fact that this is explicitly and prominently stated on the Order. In fact buried in their fine print are several exclusions, none of which they brought to our attention prior to us handing over the sizeable deposit. As a result the ‘Total Project Cost’ they quote is NOT the total cost of your project, because you will have to pay additionally for many aspects of the building works. We have not been refunded a penny, despite feeling being misled in the manner described. By the way, the directors are the very same of the former The Caulfield Company (now in administration). You can read several negative reviews of them, from other reviewers, over at houzz dot co dot uk.
