Something is wrong with their…
Something is wrong with their cancellation system. I cancelled my account two months ago, and they resubscribed me without my consent. Now they won't return my money. Their system does not send cancellation emails so make sure you take a screenshot when you cancel your subscription or they will keep charging you until you email them.
During the free trial period
During the free trial period, I was unable to get the full experience. I dealt with unresponsive influencers, and the one influencer that I did collaborate with was dishonest about receiving my product even though message receipts were on the account.
The company was generous enough to extend my trial for a couple of days while I tried to reach the influencer. My subscription accidently renewed, but due to the various issues and it being only the 1st day and 1st month of the subscription, the company honored a refund.
One of the Most Frustrating “Influencer…
One of the Most Frustrating “Influencer Platforms” I’ve Ever Tried – Beware Before You Waste Your Money
I’ve been using Social Cat for about a month now, and I’m canceling my subscription before they try to pull another $100 from my account. I went into this platform hopeful, thinking it would help me connect with real influencers who actually care about creating content for small brands. Unfortunately, it’s been nothing but a headache and a waste of money.
Let me break down why I’m done with this service:
1. No Guarantee You’ll Ever Get a Video
There’s no guarantee whatsoever that any influencer you’re matched with will actually make a video. I’m currently dealing with one “creator” I sent free product to — even paid for the shipping — and it’s been weeks with zero response. Today I checked their profile again and noticed other users leaving one-star reviews saying the exact same thing: they sent products, paid shipping, and got absolutely nothing in return. It’s like these “influencers” take the free products and disappear.
2. Many “Influencers” Aren’t Even Real or Active
After digging deeper, I started researching the accounts Social Cat matched me with — and it’s honestly shocking. Half of these accounts aren’t even active anymore. Some haven’t posted in months, others have fake followers, and a few don’t seem like real people at all. I feel like I’ve been matched with ghost accounts and scam profiles.
And for the creators who are active, the ones with any decent following want hundreds of dollars for a short clip and free products on top of it. That completely defeats the purpose of paying Social Cat’s membership fee in the first place.
3. Limited Collaborations Make It Worse
Social Cat limits how many people you can connect with per month, which is ridiculous because most of your time is spent waiting for influencers to even respond. Their “7-day free trial” is a joke. You still have to send out your product (which costs money), wait for them to receive it, and hope they make content before your trial ends — which they won’t. Then you’re automatically billed before you ever see a single result. It’s a sneaky setup designed to make you pay before you realize how slow and unproductive the system really is.
4. They Lock You Out of Your Own Content
Even worse — if you cancel your account before your next billing cycle, Social Cat blocks your access to the creators and the content they supposedly made for you. So if someone is still “working” on a video, you won’t even be able to see it once your subscription ends, even though you already paid for that month and sent your product. That’s a total scam. You’re forced to stay subscribed just to see what you already paid for.
5. You End Up Losing Way More Than $99
Between the $99 monthly fee, the cost of shipping, and the free product you send out, this platform actually costs small business owners like me hundreds of dollars for nothing in return. After all that, I have no videos, no feedback, no communication from the creators, and no real results.
---
Final Thoughts
After this experience, it’s a hard NO for me. I’ll be canceling and never looking back.
If you’re a small business thinking about trying Social Cat — don’t waste your money. You’ll have better luck going straight to TikTok, Instagram, or Facebook yourself and messaging influencers directly. That way you’re not paying a middleman just to get scammed by inactive or fake creators.
Social Cat looks good on paper, but in reality, it’s an expensive disappointment full of fake profiles, zero accountability, and shady billing practices. Save yourself the frustration and do it the old-fashioned way — real outreach, real people, and real results.
Why Does SocialCat Exist?
Using SocialCat seemed like a great idea at first, with random influencers there would be ghosting and wasting money on products that you'd never see any content for.
It made sense, a safe platform to connect real content creators and companies.
Until the content creators stop creating content and just ghost you... SocialCat doesn't care and won't do anything. I haven't actually contacted the support team but upon hearing from my friends who initially recommended the platform - it's a waste of time and they won't extend your subscription for free and they won't remove the content creator from the platform.
Cold calling influencers for collaborations doesn't take up that much time and the entire benefit of paying $100+ per month for SocialCat was to make this easier and risk free.
For the number of collaborations you get and given SocialCat doesn't care at all about the quality of their content creators, it seems very unwise for any business to use their platform when the results don't differ from contacting random influencers yourself.
P.S. You can hire a guy on Fiverr to send cold call templates out for your from your business social account. The Nigerians and Pakistanis average about 60 messages per hour for $5.
Social Cat Experience
The Social Cat team was very helpful and responsive any time our team reached out. We requested an invitation limit of 3,500, and they increased it to 5,000! We got a great response from women for our specific content needs, but experienced difficulty getting diverse men applicants, so we will be moving on from Social Cat. When we got charged before cancelling our subscription, the Social Cat team quickly refunded the subscription fee and offered another free trial.
Serious Privacy Risk. Proceed with Caution
Posting this as a brand owner who had a deeply concerning experience on this platform. There appears to be no real identity verification process, which allowed unauthorized individuals to access brand information and make contact under false pretenses. This resulted in unwanted tracking behavior and exposure of business details well beyond acceptable standards.
Customer support offered no meaningful resolution responses were repetitive and focused mainly on encouraging further subscription payments rather than addressing safety concerns. The system seems designed to prioritize revenue over responsibility, even when clear risks are reported. For small businesses, the impact is not minor. Product dispatches were wasted, shipping costs were lost, and the platform assumed no liability for the consequences of its inaction. I will not be continuing with them, and I would strongly advise that other brands assess the potential risks before participating.
Support only responses once every 24hrs…
Support only responses once every 24hrs at about 1am in the morning. I had trouble with a rude brand, messaged them weeks in advance about it. And yet they did nothing to protect their creator. I have a great reputation and have completed almost 100 collaborations on the site with great reviews. Sad I’ll have to find somewhere else with better practices.
Refunded after forgetting to cancel subscription
I like their platform after exploring it during the free trial and find it has a good set of influencers to work with. I did forget to cancel before the monthly subscription and they did refund me within the day. Will sign up again once our business is ready to.
The entire team is hands on
The entire team is hands on. Very responsive and personable. The overall feeling was thank goodness I am actually interacting with real humans that understand my lifestyle and are very responsive and supportive. The dashboard is extremely organized thankfully because everything in my world can get quite chaotic.
Fantastic Space for Creators & Businesses alike
SocialCat is a fantastic space for connecting both creators and businesses. It is very simple to sign up and navigate with multiple opportunities. It lets brands search and filter influencers by niche, location, engagement rate and other attributes. It offers tools/features to manage the influencer-brand relationship: messaging, contract templates, licensing content, content libraries, etc. I would highly recommend to creators and businesses.
HORRIBLE! AVOID!!!
HORRIBLE!! We did the 7 day trial and it was a waste. They let you try it for 7 days for free but that isn't really long enough to view your applicants, communicate with who you want to hire and see what they have. We tried it, found someone we thought was reasonable and then communication with them was terrible. We hear back every 2-3 days after she agreed (and advertised) that she could do quick turnaround. We decided to walk when it had been another 2 days to get a simple answer. This micro "influencer" then went on our company website, got our company number and proceeded to call us non stop until we blocked her on every social media account, and her phone number. We contacted Social Cat and they blamed us for giving her our number which we did not. Very unprofessional! Also, you get what you paid for....some people have thousands of followers but their ER rate is terrible. It's not worth the $. We went with a much more professional site.
Excellent source gifted influencer campaigns
I've been working with The Social Cat for almost two years already. We are a small company with small budgets, so I originally hooked up with the app because they do offer a $99 per month subscription model with 5 influencers per month. I tried it out - and it worked - I got a great response for gifted collaborations. I then upgraded to the $199 per month/15 influencers - which continued to build social media awareness - now I'm on the pro $299 a month plan/30 influencers. I am continually in awe that I can easily get 30 gifted collaborations per month on their database. Their database is easy to use, it's easy to set up campaigns, and I still get lots of interest from micro influencers with 1K followers - all the way to influencers with over 100K followers. Highly Recommend
I love Social Cat
I love Social Cat! As a microinfluencer this is my FAVORITE platform to connect with brands and grow my account! Everyone I've connected with has been so kind and helpful and I absolutely love the variety of opportunities on this platform. Would absolutely recommend!
Lots of activity on this app
Lots of activity on this app, good user interface and system for uploading to the brand however, it is marketed for paid collaborations. I found these to be very scarce, in saying that though the gifted collaborations are very good.
Social Cat has been a Gamechanger!
I have always wanted to begin profiting from my social media but never really knew how to start! With Social Cat I have the ability to apply to work with brands on an easy-to-use platform and finally after years of posting I have achieved my goal of working with brands I love! Thank you Social Cat!

Social Cat Review
Hello
So far I had a great experience with Social Cat itself. I had a problem with one brand refusing to honor their commitment but Social Cat assist in getting the payment that was due. Thank you for creating this platform.

Disappointed – Influencers Kept My Products Without Posting
I sent products to two influencers through The Social Cat platform with a clear agreement that they would create Reels and tag me as a collaborator. Both influencers kept my gold-filled jewelry, never posted anything, and never even replied to my messages.
When I contacted Social Cat, they told me that while 20–30% of collaborations outside the platform are successful, the success rate inside their platform is much higher — around 80%. Unfortunately, my experience was nowhere near that. My success rate was also around 20–30%, just like they said happens outside their platform.
They offered to “replace” the collaboration, but my products are costly and handcrafted with gold-filled materials — I cannot simply give more items to another influencer. What about the products I already sent to the original influencers? There is no way to recover those or hold them accountable.
For a small business like mine, every piece is a big investment. Losing these items with nothing in return has been both financially and emotionally damaging. If you’re a small brand, please know there is no real accountability here — once influencers receive your products, there’s no guarantee they will deliver what was promised.
Brilliant for small creators
I am a small, new family creator with just over 5k followers. Social Cat has really helped me make that jump into doing both gifted and paid brand work. It makes it very easily to liaise with brands and have conversations, contracts are easy to access and refer back to. I've worked with 4 brands so far and my experience has been nothing but positive.
Thank you! - from @bexandthegirlgang
