I can't fault them

I can't fault them. Booked to see a show but got Covid and couldn't attend. I rung them to find out what to do - they answered the phone immediately (both times that I rung) and gave me clear instructions of the evidence I'd need. I applied the day after I missed the show, and the refund was in my account the day after. You can't get better service than that

Designed to scam!

They make it incredibly hard for people to claim refunds for very legit reasons. Business model designed to scam people. Makes me sick...

Insurance con

I was supposed to see Frozen the musical with my 2 children on the 5th January. Travelling down from Newcastle as part of the Christmas presents. We had 2 very excited little girls- unfortunately due to the rail strikes our trains were cancelled. Firstly I asked if it would be possible to move our tickets but it was too close and we were unable to. The I remembered I had purchased the insurance at an extra cost to the ticket. HOWEVER, after submitting my claim and the relevant details it was declined. As there were other (minimal) trains running. I was well aware of that and tried to change my rail tickets but the trains had no availability!!!! I am extremely disappointed and have some very upset little girls, who had been promised seeing the show when I could rebook. Poor form ticket refunds

Appalling company - avoid at all costs

Appalling company, complete scammers. Paid for insurance for ballet ticket. Couldn’t get home as all train journeys cancelled in strikes. Wouldn’t even look at my claim until after date as they said may have been other ways to get back.

Special thanx to Angela

Angela who works in the online call chat was the most amazing person. She was helpful and took her time to help us work through things we needed to send.
The only thing was, we did have to submit a lot of evidence and were a little worried about GDPR.
But the refund process from start to end was less then 24 hours.
Again a special thanx to Angela thankyou for being kind understanding and helpful.

Absolute scam of a company

Absolute scam of a company. The list of what they cover is completely narrow and they manipulate it based on the claim. I submitted a claim for something very specifically listed on their refund list-- travel issues. They rejected the claim for a bogus reason they can manipulate on their end: "I could've taken a different route." What? My street was blocked off by protestors for several days, no I could not. Ridiculous scam, waste of money. I am planning to report them to the BBB and seek a refund through my credit card company.

Don't bother

Don't bother. Was affected by train strikes and rail company advised not to travel on day of event and they refused the refund. They will also reject rail strike claims because there are 'alternative forms of transport' so a get out clause for every claim. Rather curt service, too.

Waste of time and money!

Waste of time and money!! I should have read the review before taking this out. A party was unable to attend due to her daughter being very unwell and taken to A&E. I provided evidence of the medication prescribed and email to hospital with the date they were in A&E. This is not good enough and they want me to now; call the hospital and ask the very busy A&E department to provide more information and get a doctor to sign a form, which incurs a cost which they will not refund!
Absolute waste of time. I called to say I have provided the only medical evidence I have access to and their response is that is not their problem!!

Terrible waste of money and aggravation

Well, make sure you get a doctor’s note in the middle of feeling like you’re about to die from COVID. A note just for these damn scam artists, if you even want them to consider refunding you.

I sent my prescription of Paxlovid, with my name, doctor’s name, and the date… wasn’t enough apparently, so no refund.

Honestly, if you have to remember all of that, just to satisfy these people (and that might not even be enough), while you’re having trouble breathing and even keeping your eyes open, then do yourself a favor and omit from using this service. They certainly don’t care about you.

Fantastic service!

Applied for a refund yesterday and it was in my bank yesterday. Very impressed especially as their confirmation email said it could take up to 14 days. My only grouse would be that if I hadn't had my tech savvy daughter home I might have struggled with the online application and would have probably had to have alot of live chats and it would have taken me ages.

Avoid any company that uses this…

Avoid any company that uses this insurance. I have had to give several doctors letters after the insurers kept shifting the goalposts. They don't get back to people and are constantly looking to catch people out, even where doctors have attested to the veracity of the letters. I've tried to get a refund for the England cricket match against South Africa, at Old Trafford. This has been a nightmare.

waste of money

waste of money! due to the train strikes we can't get to London for the event we'd booked. their response to our claim: "if other forms of transport are available to you then you will not be covered under the T&C".

other forms of transport are always available of course, eg walking cycling, horse, taxi, etc - but impracticable or vastly expensive. but an easy get-out to avoid settling a claim of course.

I book tickets regularly but never again will I fall for this con.

AVOID! I purchased 9 tickets with a value of…

I purchased 9 tickets with a value of nearly £1000 for my family, all insured through Ticket Refunds. One member of our party is a commercial pilot who was unable to attend the show due to operational difficulties. I claimed a refund from this company who then wanted a letter from a senior manager at the airline explaining why the pilot could not attend the show, without which Ticket Refunds will not process the refund application.
This is not a reasonable request and shows a misunderstanding of the roles and responsibilities of airline management. We have written off the cost of the ticket, and in future will not use this company or its affiliates.

I put a claim in for a comedy gig we could not go to due to a death in the family, I completed the claim form and sent what was asked for. I received an email asking for a breakdown showing the concert tickets and the insurance. I sent the emails I received from the theatre, but that is not what they wanted. I then checked my account for the theatre and there was the breakdown they wanted. I received my refund 2 weeks later. I had an excellent experience and my emails were answered very quickly. Thank you

I can only think this is either a scam or they make you jump through so many hoops, asking repeatedly to send proof of purchase and doctors note, which so have, 3 times now! I have contacted them by email(no telephone number!) 5 times and now they’ve stopped replying to my messages. I took insurance, I have supplied the relevant documents and am now being completely ignored, if this is happening to multiple customers is it not time to take further action against these people? Watchdog? Consumer rights? Also the event companies and theatres/venues that work with them?

Don't waste your time with this scam company

Don't waste your time getting ticket protection with these guys!
Such a long process to claim (due to covid), and then they don't provide updates for ages and then you get a text message and email saying yes, you can get a refund.
No such relief! As they use Wise.com for transfer, but then they say some other third party company will be sending it - it's all very sketchy! One link even asked me to deposit money first! And another said I would get the money back in Euros! Then to top it off you get an email from Wise saying the dodgy third party company has cancelled the transfer.
The email they send is threatening saying you have 5 working days to claim, so now worried I tried to ring them but first engaged tone for an hour, then tried again and I was '2nd' in the queue so many times I lost count - it just drops off after 5 minutes of waiting!
I am so worried as I had three tickets (totalling almost £100) I couldn't use and that makes such a difference, I can't just throw it away but I have a bad feeling I won't see it again. Moreover I have booked tickets for this year's panto using this ticket protection (this was before the chaos started) and now I am thinking what have I done? I would welcome ANYONE from the company to please get in touch as I just want my money back.

A rose by any other name .....

'Ticket Refunds' is just another working name for 'Secure My Booking' (part of JM Marketing Ltd), which enjoys a similar dismal Trustpilot review record.

My own unfortunate experience of this company concerns them refusing my refund request with a fabricated excuse of 'an inability to travel due to a government mandated travel ban'.

To put this into context my claim related to an inability to attend the Belgian F1 Grand Prix held on 29/08/2021, due to a unilateral decision, by an independent third party tour company (our only means of conveyance to the venue), to suspend operations due to commercial reasons.

My tickets were purchased through 'Motorsport Tickets', who themselves published the following statement on their website dated 16/08/2021 i.e. a full 10 days before the event:

'‘Travel rules to Belgium from the UK recently changed. Belgium now accepts the NHS full vaccination certificate as a means of entering the country. That means you can travel to Belgium if your second COVID vaccination was at least two weeks ago, and this displays in the NHS-COVID-19 app."

As far back as 20/07/2021, A declaration was made by the Belgian government (easily researched) that the COVID Safe Ticket scheme would commence on 13/08/2021.

Despite this evidence that there was no travel ban to Belgium, Ticket Refunds (Secure My Booking / JMM Ltd) are continuing to deny the facts and refusing a refund.

I have lodged a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman Service, who are currently investigating this company and would advise those similarly affected to do the same.

I would also advise those who have posted here, to repost your concerns to Trustpilot's 'Secure My Booking' page, as there is a greater patronage and does tend to illicit a response from this company.

Totally NOT WORRY-FREE ticket booking

Totally NOT WORRY-FREE ticket booking. My son had covid symptoms and had to isolate whilst waiting for a PCR test. NO REFUND GIVEN even though he was legally required to isolate. My recommendation is do not book tickets at this venue because either you lose your money if you get covid symptoms or I guess they think you should turn up with the symptoms and possibly infect everyone.

Furthermore, I have received a reply as to why my claim was rejected - keep in mind my son had a covid test at 1pm and the show was on the same day at 7pm. They said It is reasonable to expect that a test could be taken within a timeframe to have the results BEFORE the event. If negative, obviously there is no issue - if positive you have supporting evidence for a successful refund application. As this did NOT occur – the application remains declined. Surely this is not legal??? Who gets a PCR turn around in 6 hours, let alone a day???
