Zero Stars !

If you enjoy wasting your time, this is the place for you. I arranged to view a car, made it crystal clear I was travelling 2 hours, and even called the day before to double-check it was still available.

We arrived first thing in the morning, only to be ignored by an uninterested staff member who eventually told us, with zero apology, that a deposit had already been taken. When I asked why nobody had the decency to call, the excuse was, “the person you spoke to probably didn’t know.” That says it all really – complete chaos and no communication whatsoever.

I was ready to purchase on the spot, but after that display of incompetence I went elsewhere — to a garage that actually values its customers. Judging by the sea of other negative reviews, I dodged a bullet.

If you’re thinking of buying here, do yourself a favour: don’t. Unless, of course, you like being ignored, lied to, and treated as if your custom doesn’t matter.

Absolute shambles of a company!

I bought a DS3 from Tiley in January, we are now in June and the car needs so much doing to it, more than the cars worth. Emailed Tiley and didn't even get a reply.
My son also got a car from Tiley which had a pollen filter held on with duct tape and a major issue that wouldn't have passed a MOT (despite the car being sold with a new MOT!)

Do not deal with this company

After more than 6 weeks of trying (and failing) to fix the car they had sold us their head service engineer (Barry I think his name was) told us that we “didn’t need to worry” about the engine light being on.
When my husband pointed out that this would fail an MOT he said “Don’t worry about that just bring it back here for its MOT and we’ll turn the sensor off and pass its MOT”.
That tells you all you need to know about how this garage operates. Avoid at all costs.

DO NOT USE THIS GARAGE IF YOU WANT A…

DO NOT USE THIS GARAGE IF YOU WANT A CAR TO USE.
Purchased a car in July 2024 on finance for it to break down the day after. Phoned the garage who gave us a date 13 days later to take it back. Took it back and got told by a very rude mechanic that WE DIDNT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE THE CAR that Ty only problem was rhe start stop function. The car would suddenly stop with no warning, we would have to wait 5 minutes to be able to restart the car. Left it with the garage for a day to be told the fault was fixed and everything was ok. 1 week later the same issue (to put into perspective the car would work fine for a while then suddenly it would just stop and then after work fine again). Repeat phoned the garage asking for the car to be booked back in to be told the manager wasn’t available and they would call us back…never did… LONG STORY SHORT. The car has had a diagnostic test done it by a garage we trust who can not pick up the fault as it is not recurring but has also picked up a very loud knocking on the front of the car. We have been advised not to use the car as it could be a danger to live: although the car has been parked up since last August anyway as not wanting to chance it. We are now left paying for a car that is no use to us and we can not use.
THE COMPANY IS A JOKE WHO ARE JUST AFTER YOUR MONEY. Have now taken this down the legal route to try to get our money back..

*AVOID AT ALL COST TILEY*

!AVOID AT ALL COST! I bought a car back in Feb 2024 and I regret trusting Janie Maria Richardson (director). They will manipulate so much and act like they are the best in business and that their business is 100% legit. When it reality they aren't there for their customers they will sell you a dodgy car which costs an arm and a leg and wouldn't bother checking up on you after purchasing the vehicle. Not to mention the 6 times the company has dissolved. Oh and also I state: "Mrs Janie Richardson and Mr Nicolas Hale previously traded as Tiley of Bristol to service the business of Tiley Motors. Between August 25, 2011 to March 31, 2019, the pair defaulted on £425,079.83 for which it was handed a £223,166.91 penalty.
Companies House reported that Tiley Motors Limited dissolved on November 20, 2014, with both Mr Hale and Mrs Richardson listed as directors of the company. Mrs Richardson then set up a new Tiley Motors Limited and the company continues to trade to this day".

Tax avoiders

I researched this company before buying and found them on HMRC's list of deliberate tax defaulters. They had to pay a fine of over £200k. I decided to avoid them.

***DO NOT BUY****DO NOT BUY*****

***DO NOT BUY****DO NOT BUY*****
My daughter bought a Mini in August 2022.
Within 2 weeks the engine warning light came on and was immediately taken back.
The mechanic turned the light off, said what caused it and advised he'd know what the cause was if it happened again!
The car then broke down on a dark, November evening. Luckily, just after driving through lanes.
The RAC said it wasn't safe to drive and towed it to Tiley's.
After 'repairing' it the car broke down again within weeks.
The car was unsafe, not fit for purpose, DANGEROUS!
The attitude of the Owner when speaking to women is disgusting. A condescending, chauvinistic person. He was very friendly to my Husband!
My daughter raised a complaint to REJECT the car.
Part finance through Close Brothers meant that they organised an Independent review. After a very short drive the conclusion was there were no faults. On subsequently looking at reviews online it would appear they act in favour of the requestor.
The car was taken to a Mini dealership at her own expense, where multiple faults were found.
The complaint was taken to the Ombudsman and was upheld.
Over a year after purchasing the car was collected and a full refund plus compensation was given.
If you have already purchased a car please look to REJECT the car as is your Consumer right.
If you haven't purchased, STOP!! DON'T BUY A DANGEROUS, COSTLY VEHICLE.

Used 2008 Honda Jazz

I recently bought a used 2008 Honda Jazz from Tiley's. The customer service was impeccable and very professional. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and it was a totally stress free experience from start to finish. I would definitely recommend Tiley's to friends and family and anyone looking for a used car. I will definitely be going back to them in the future,

Excellent service from John in Barry

Excellent service from Van the salesman, could not fault them, so helpful and nothing was to much trouble. Would highly recommend this car company if you are buying or selling a vehicle.
