Tinierme Ripoff

I was hacked while using this website on April 12th 2012. A user had broken into my account and took over 130 items from my account. I was able to screenshot some of the items taken from my wishlist, via the sent items tab. I provided a detailed explanation of my case as well as a list of everything that was taken and screenshots. However, they only came back to me with a response of, "you gave away your password, you didn't really get hacked and we don't give items back". Yet, when I looked back I had not given away the password of my main account. I had given a user/pass of a mule account for a friend to use, which obviously is not the same login as my main account. They closed my ticket and told me they don't return items. I have spent over 150 dollars on their website and believe that their services are not as friendly or as a helpful as they claim.

Account theft and cancellation

My daughter's account was hacked and her paid items were stolen. When I complained to TinierMe, they responded by cancelling my daughter's account and confiscated the rest of the money in it because she was 11 instead of 13+. Apparently, it's okay to steal from someone if they're underage.

They blamed my daughter for giving her password to a phisher via email. I see copies of her email and this never happened. Then they had the audacity to suggest that I needed to teach my child about cyber safety. I monitor my daughter's computer usage very closely and she knows better than to give a password to anyone except me or her father.

I figure it's a convenient way to get out of admitting to or investigating the theft and they get to keep the money we've spent on this site.

Fun, but Not Cheap

Dressing up the avatar and designing the personalized room is really fun. There is a wide variety of special events and items, and you can meet a lot of new people. The events are my favorite. =3

The complaint that I have is that slowly but surely, TM is changing from a free site to a paid site- nowadays, if you want to have good items, you have to purchase G-coins. Less and less items require Chibi Coins (the virtual currency you can get for free). Many members have said that once the open beta is over, TM will probably become 100% G-coin, since the Japanese original sight is almost 100% G-coin only.
