A secret worth knowing about

We’ve now had four bikes from them. Firstly, the bikes themselves are beautiful, elegant and so well made but reasonably priced too.
The service they offer is sensational. Once you’ve got your bike, you’re one of the family and they never forget you.
Absolutely amazing and we wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Tried to contact their support to get…

Tried to contact their support to get info about replacement parts for my GF's bike after someone tried to steal her rear wheel (they removed the washers and hut holding it to the frame).

Emailed support on 6/8 asking about ordering these missing rear brake parts or buying a whole new replacement, and they said in auto response email they would respond in 24/48 hours. But they never did.

Emailed them again on 6/13. Got the same promise to respond email in 24/48...and they never followed up again.

Emailed them again today. Got the same we will reply in 24/48 hours email. Not confident they will respond.

My GF's Tokyobike has been out of action for weeks now because her rear brake is missing parts I need from them. But Tokyobike hasn't made any attempt to respond :(

Terrible customer support.

I am so in love with my new Bisou bike!

I am so in love with my new bike! I recently purchased the Bisou in Moss Green and it has transformed my commute. The bike not only looks stunning, it's light-weight & well designed - a true pleasure to ride. The staff at TokyoBike were incredibly helpful throughout the process - they responded to emails very quickly and made the entire experience easy and straightforward (special shout out to Neil & Akane!) The shipping service from London to Bristol was also spot-on, and I was given regular updates from both the courier and also by Neil. Everything was packaged up well with easy instructions to get me on the road. Would not hesitate to recommend this company and their lovely bikes - thank you!

Stellar Service

Neil at Tokyo Bike provided stellar service in the midst of a Royal Mail strike and the melee before Christmas. Super responsive and very friendly, even going so far as to call on a Saturday to ensure I got what we needed for what was previously only an online transaction. Highly recommended.

Scam

This is a scam. They took the money from the card three months ago. Only now delivered the product with no gears, wrong (plain) colour not as invoiced, wrong tyres, cheep set up of the brakes, saddle and handles. Item assembled out of cheep parts. To try to rectify the problem, the company threaten another three months wait. When the bike was delivered it was obvious that everything was not as advertised. Company charged the card £50 for delivery instead of the invoiced £5. Without any authorisation. Yet, No refund yet. Still trying to get through to obtain the refund. Awful experience, awful product. Strongly advise to stay away.

The perfect commuting bicycle

Contrary to the last two reviews, I can advise I have owned my Tokyobike CS26 in Jeffer Red for over a year, and it is the best bike I have ever owned. Few bikes have character and individuality these days, but these do. So often I have people approach me asking about it and complementing it on its looks. I added white tyres, a Brooks saddle and handlebar covers which suit it perfectly. I think it is a design icon. Simple and elegant. It has had one service at Tokyobike Shorditch and they were very helpful then as when I purchased it.
As for the previous reviewers comment about the the store handing them a pump to do themselves, any owner should be doing this anyway. You don't go to your car and expect someone else to open the door for you. Same thing. The chap in the store was surely trying to show you how to do something you should be doing yourself routinely!
Few bikes make you feel special when riding these days, but the Tokyobike does. I use it to get to work every day and it's always a pleasure to ride. I love my Tokyobike and would not swap it for anything.

I'm actually an owner of a Tokyobike…

I'm actually an owner of a Tokyobike and the service has always been good until recently. I went in with the aim to buy a front basket and mudguards and decided whilst I pick out the ones I wanted I would have the bike tyres pumped up a little as it had been a while. I asked the assistant whom I hadn't seen before and instead of helping me to pump it up he gave me the pump and said I can do it myself.

There was no-one in the store at the time and he wasn't doing anything behind the counter. With this kind of service I decided I would spend my money elsewhere.

The assistant asked why I didn't move to look at the basket and mudguards and I told him I now had to pump my own bike wheels and so I will focus on that. At this point, realizing his mistake he came up with the weak excuse that he thought I could learn how to use the pump??

It's not the service I expect from Tokyobike. There are many great bike companies out there and in a time of a pandemic people will be welcoming recommendations when investing in a bike.

This incident prompted me to spend my £125 elsewhere and suggest an alternative bike company at different bike stores to three friends who are actively looking to buy bikes.
