Total Home Protection is a complete fraud

Total Home Protection is a complete fraud. My garage wasn't working and I had to pay. they won't. My Ac didn't work last year, I had to pay, they rejected. Now, I had to change the compressor, and they gave a reason that no one can understand and rejected it again. They were the sweetest people to take $1000s of dollars for 5 years on two of my properties. They paid $0 so far in any repairs I had to do. Fraudulent company. I do real estate and told all the people I meet and the title companies not to use this fraudulent company. I am joining any lawsuits out there to seek justice.

Total Home Protection Dec 16th for 5…

Total Home Protection Dec 16th for 5 years plus one year for $2,250 plus service call of $45.
We just moved in and needed service on New Year Eve on our HVAC system that was not heating a house in NJ in the WINTER.
I placed an online ticket. I placed two more tickets and finally a vendor scheduled with me. They came out, took the $45 immediately and looked at the system. After 15 minutes, told me his time was up and that it is now being billed by his company by the hour. He could not determine what was wrong and left. WHAT???
I contacted the Total Home Protection, (THP), which is worse than standing in line with no appointment at DMV, and they called the vendor while I was on hold, the vendor did not want to do business with THP and that is when I asked for a full refund and called a reputable HVAC vendor who fixed the issue for a tune of $413. I explained to Keith from THP that the HVAC system they had come to the house to repair the vendor told me after 15 minutes of service and they cannot diagnose the issue it now is on my dime to pay for him to continue, Keith said that is not correct.
The manager Keith from THP called and begged me to give them another shot and promised me he would reimburse me the $413. After 20 minutes of him begging, I said that I would. He also said that he would waive the $45 service call on the next visit. Worse mistake I made. Before hanging up he said if you have any issues going forward please call him.
A week later had an electrical issue, again put in a ticket and 4 days later the Electrical vendor called and said, so and so will be there in the afternoon on that day. Whoa I said, I did not know anyone was coming. THP never said they scheduled already with you, we rescheduled for the following day.
A young man arrived from the company. Not an Electrician. I told him everything that was going on, walked him around to everything and that is when he said, ok, I have to wait for the electrician Ivan/Igor to arrive. I said you are not the Electrician. I think he should have waited and they both come in at the same time. Or told me he was not the Electrician. The first young man, after testing the outlets said that the GFI's might all need replacing.
The Electrician said too many GFI on one-line trips it. He also said the toaster and the coffee pot cannot be plugged in at the same time. Really??
I asked him if he was ready to see the other issues and said, this was the only thing he was scheduled for. The young man called the called his company and he was wrong they were schedule for it all.
He determined 3 of the 4 issues were fine. Since they could be replicated. The GFI's are still tripping in the 4 areas.
I called to speak to Keithagain, since he told me if I have any problems to speak to him directly and he of course could not be reached.
Tommy who is equal to Keith answered. I insisted that I wanted to speak to Keith as he knew all the background. Bottom line I wanted to cancel. Tommy after me explaining everything to him at the end said Keith will want to speak with me. Great I said, I will not change my mind.
Keith called and cancelled my account, I asked him about the $413 from January and he said that the refund of the warranty would cover it and it would be a wash. Well, NO it did not cover the $413 HVAC charge and it was not returned in full. It would have been, if they said what they said was true, and honored the CONTRACT we entered into together.
In my opinion, run away from TOTAL HOME PROTECTION. Do not commit to anything with them. Not sure if they use vendors that cannot make its own their own or just poor preforming vendors, but they are not honorable and are very dishonest company. Extremely disappointed end user. Not worth the hassle, money, or time to be lied too.

I submitted my first claim through this…

I submitted my first claim through this company, and I am looking for another home warranty company. My hot water heater went out Thursday evening. So I had no hot water Friday and through the weekend. I called on Monday they said they should have someone out Tuesday. Called Tuesday before closing and was informed the technician company they booked were over booked and they don't have anyone to come out and they don't know how long it will take for them to get someone to come out. Customers service rep act as if they did not care.

Total Home protection deserves 0/5

I have two policies with Total Home Protection (for my primary and rental homes) and I am afraid to say that it is a piece of c..p, totally worthless, huge waste of time/effort/energy having their policies. The contractors/technicians they send also say so about them, that they are very cheap.I wonder if it is a legit business or a SCAM. My 8 year old water heater broke down 9 days ago, the pilot system was not lighting up, first they took 9 days to send a technician and it took 1 hour for technician to call them for authorization, then they hung up on the technician. Finally the technician left after taking a service call fee from me. Later in the day they denied authorization on flimsy grounds (something they had fixed 2 years ago) which they do most of the times. Now they are asking me to get some other technician and have that person call them to evaluate whether they will cover or not. I just wasted my service call fee and many hours of time including writing this review. I feel strongly about their lack of service and professionalism and would plead with everybody considering home warranty to exclude them from the list of potential vendors.

CONTRACTORS BEWARE!!

CONTRACTORS BEWARE!!! This company is a complete fraud!! My experience with signing up with this company was a complete waste of time. They send countless service work order through emails, phone calls, and will not compensate for your time. But I have collect $45 fee from their clients as promise. It’s written all over the application. But that’s all. I’ve never got a check from them close to 8 months! You should look into this company customers reviews online. I can relate I went through it. A constant back and forth with service managers, accounting, and billing. All the promises that was promised to get your off the phone.

This company is a sham

This company is a sham. They deny all replacement claims. They told me replacement of my sump pump was not covered when my policy clearly states "sump pump" is covered.

They don't stand by there own policy

They don't stand by there own policy. Needed my microwave fixed because it went out and they denied my claim. The tech. they sent out even said that it needed to be replaced or fixed and they didn't even go with what he reported. They gave me the run around for 3 weeks. They were horrible don't go with this company bad business . Had to go out and buy a microwave which they denied to fix it replace. I had to give at least 1 star but I really would have given them a minus 10.

DO NOT buy a home warranty from this company.

The only reason they are getting one star is because I can't go lower. This is the worst home warranty company I have ever dealt with. Their customer service is non existent. They only paid one claim out of 7 that I filed. Your claim is assigned to a "claims manager" & then the contractor has to take photos of the issue. They always manage to find a loophole in order to not pay your claim. This company is a scam & the coverage is worthless.

Do not buy this home warranty

Do not buy this home warranty. My washing machine broke I called the warranty and after 4 days they advise they still could not find someone the work on a Maytag washer. They advise me I could find someone myself which I did and they told me all I needed to do was have the service man call their Authorization department. Once authorized they would refund me the full service call minus my co-pay. I followed through with these directions we got authorization to fix the washer the bill came to $306. I filed my claim and they will only reimburse a $150. They said the service call cost more than what they're willing to pay yet their warranty program says they will fix everything for full cost minus your co-pay. They Do not have a full network of contractors as advertised and they provide you with false information and refused to pay your claims.

Purchased a policy for 42 months on…

Purchased a policy for 42 months on 5/2019. Made 1st claim a year later 6/2020. I had to call the company myself after 3 days of waiting. Very unprofessional guy shows up with regular clothes on, old dirty lincoln, sweating profusely to diagnose the issue with my 3 year old dryer. 5 minutes later he's gone. Again no feedback for a solid week. I call again to find out my dryer could not be repaired and THP will be calling with an offer to REPLACE my dryer. Again several days goes by and I call once again and was told I would be getting a check in the mail for $150 to REPLACE my dryer. I was LIVID! So the representative said ok, I'll give u the max to REPLACE your dryer and that check you should receive in 45 DAYS will be $180. SMH This is not my 1st rodeo with a warranty company but this is by far the WORSE service I have ever received. Today 8/21/2020 after 5 phone calls I finally talked to a manager/supervisor whom says how ironic (his words) you should receive your check for the $180 in a week. I then proceed to explain that I paid $1172.00 to be given a check to REPLACE my dryer with only $180 and that not even a used dryer I could purchase with $180 and that I wanted to cancel the rest of my policy and be refunded. He says if I do that they will charge me for every month I was with the company plus subtract the $180 and therefore will only be refunded approximately $150, if that. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE ANY PLANS WITH THIS COMPANY IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR GREAT SERVICE FROM EITHER THP OR THE PEOPLE THEY CONTRACT WITH. I regret changing from my previous warranty company looking for a cheaper service call fee. I'm stuck with this horrible company until Nov 2022. Needless to say although I had a warranty company, I still paid $592 to purchase a dryer while waiting over 45 days on a DEPRECIATED value check. All I've received was a "sorry bout that". READ,READ,READ all the fine print on this companys site BEFORE you authorize any monies paid to them!!! They trick u by saying they REPAIR & REPLACE and there is definitely NO REPLACING if something cannot be repaired. They even determine the depreciated value with NO explanation as to how they come to that amount! I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Worse home warranty policy ever

Worse home warranty policy ever! If I could give a negative star rating I would.
Our fridge compressor went out on my $2500 fridge. I sent in a claim and technician stated the cost of repair would be around $1400 and recommended replacement.
THP offered funds for replacement of $300 ONLY. They pulled out their fine print about they have the right to offer funds for replacement at depreciation value or less. Apparently $300 is the max price they are allowed to offer for replacement of a fridge.
This policy is a waste of money!
