The trainer was great
The trainer was great. However Training Strategies are corrupt as hell and have shut down without paying for my license.
great trainers the company not so much
their trainers are top notch in every way you are going to pass the course. yet there are no avenues to talk to a person, your ignored it's been almost a month at this point and still nothing has come up. My sia account has nothing passing the course let alone any contact on the card.
I did the SIA course with T. Farrell
I did the SIA course with T. Farrell as my tutor. I have no complaints at all only good words, our tutor had the upmost respect and also had the time to speak to every person individually and with care. I’ve never completed the course before but if you ever get T. Farrell as your tutor just know he will do his best to get you passed. Thankyou, from D. Harrison
Trainer was unprofessional and lacked people skills required for a training environment.
Throughout much of the course, I found Solomon's training style and approach to be unprofessional and, at times, inappropriate for a learning environment. His communication style was often confrontational and could be perceived as intimidating rather than supportive. In my opinion, this created an atmosphere that negatively affected learning, confidence, and participation.
One particular concern involved an attendee whose first language was not English and who appeared to experience some difficulty with the language barrier. When this attendee struggled during assessments or answered questions incorrectly during classroom discussions, Solomon's responses were often dismissive and appeared to ridicule the individual rather than support them. Examples included comments such as, "What's wrong with you?", "What do you think you're doing?", "No, no, that's wrong," and "What is all this gibberish you're saying?" I found these comments inappropriate and lacking the patience and professionalism expected from a trainer.
I also witnessed another attendee struggle during the Physical Intervention training and assessment process. The attendee openly stated that they were feeling stressed, yet when mistakes were made, Solomon's responses included remarks such as, "What's wrong with you?" and "What are you doing?" Rather than receiving reassurance, guidance, or encouragement, the attendee appeared to become increasingly anxious. In my view, a more supportive approach would have been appropriate, including offering additional guidance or suggesting a short break to help the individual regain confidence and composure before continuing.
I also experienced what I considered discourteous and unsupportive behaviour during the video-recorded assessment process. Several attendees, including myself, expressed that being recorded made us feel uncomfortable and added pressure to an already stressful assessment environment. As a result, some participants made mistakes and occasionally had to restart parts of the assessment. During these situations, Solomon appeared visibly frustrated through both his tone and body language. Comments such as, "What's wrong with you?", "What are you doing?" and "Go back and do it right this time" were made.
It also appeared that if an attendee did not complete the assessment correctly on the first attempt, the response was often negative rather than constructive. On more than one occasion, comments were made to the effect that by making mistakes, attendees were "messing it up for the other person." I felt this approach placed unnecessary pressure on individuals who were already nervous and contributed to an atmosphere where attendees felt discouraged rather than supported. I found this approach inconsistent with creating a positive, professional and supportive learning environment.
During classroom sessions, attendees were instructed to take photographs of PowerPoint slides using their mobile phones. I did not consider this to be a particularly professional or effective method of providing course materials. Given that printed materials were supplied for other aspects of the course, it would have been more appropriate for attendees to be provided with copies of the presentation content for future reference.
I also have concerns regarding the advice provided in relation to exam preparation. Attendees were directed to use the GuardPass application to complete mock examinations. While initially helpful, the application only allowed access to a limited number of mock tests before requiring payment. On the day of the examination, the examiner advised us that there are freely available SIA Door Supervisor mock examinations online and suggested that we could have accessed these through a simple internet search. Had this information been provided earlier, it would have given attendees access to a wider range of revision resources without additional cost.

“Suleman was an outstanding trainer for my SIA Door Supervisor course with Training Strategies Ltd in Liverpool. He went above and beyond – super knowledgeable, broke down every topic perfectly with real door work examples, and had endless patience for questions. His energy kept the class motivated, and he genuinely wants everyone to succeed. Passed first time thanks to him – Suleman is the best SIA trainer out there, absolute legend. 5 stars all day!”
An enjoyable training course led by Dave Mason
An enjoyable training course led by Dave Masons who was very knowledgeable on the subject and kept everyone engaged. I would highly recommend for anyone getting into the construction industry.

Finished coarse i was told 4 weeks for results still waiting 2 months later every time I call im told its been chased up joke of a company wouldn't recommend
the training course was rushing and…
the training course was rushing and completely disorganised, although in fairness the instructor Gary (when not bragging about his sexual exploits as a doorman in Leeds) was actually very good at teching the basics. Problem is that I started the course in May, it's now November and Training Strategies still haven't got their act together and paid the SIA so that I can get my license and start working. Taking the pi$$ is an understatement...
Excellent course and great people.
Excellent staff and great training offered, I learned a lot and managed to pass the test with ease.
Have I waisted my time?
This would be 5 stars if based on the fantastic trainers......but issues start when you pass the course and you are waiting several months to get your badge paid for. I am missing out on work and everytime I call the office I am told "I will escalate it to the finance team" or "the finance team have not looked at your case yet". I was promised that the badge would be paid on Friday 19th as this was 8 weeks after submitting my application and still nothing. Only contact I am having is from SIA advising that my application will expire soon.

Course review
From Ashwin,
I just finished my training for first aid and door supervision. My experience was good, Kevin was straight forward, aided us in understanding the course. He was nice and detailed regarding the course, we learned everything needed. He prepared us perfectly for the exam. I would recommend this course to someone wondering to participate in the course as it is very useful to learn these skills. Kevin’s knowledge and experience was very detailed and necessary for the course.
Excellent course, brilliantly delivered
Took my SIA door supervisor course with TSL in Burnley. I got in touch after seeing an ad on Facebook, and they got me on a course the next day. I was contacted when they said they would be in touch, promptly replied when I emailed asking about what I'd need to bring with me, and the actually course itself was fantastic. Tommy was absolutely brilliant, keeping the theory modules informative and engaging, relating what we'd learned to his own extensive experience and making everything as clear and concise as possible, as well as being an absolute joy to spend a prolonged period of time with.
