The representative clearly lied to me…

The representative clearly lied to me when I stated that I have a refundable ticket with United Airlines and that I wanted it refunded. He stated that I was ineligible. The TraveloTickets representative stated that I had to apply for it 72 hours prior to the flight to be eligible for the refund. If I didn't wish to lose my flight totally I should rebook with the representative through the TraveloTickets site on a different date. The representative claimed that I would receive an email confirmation which I never did. After speaking to a United Airlines representative at the airport following having received the information and having proceeded to purchase a new ticket, it was found to be absolutely incorrect and that in fact I would have indeed been eligible for the refund, if I had not rebooked through the Travelotickets site. The representative gave totally false information, which is reprehensible. He is probably laughing at me for being so gullible when I knew that there was an issue with the information that he gave was incorrect. I got scammed. It cost me $550 CAD as a result of the misinformation.
