The skullery sandwich bar shanklin Isle of Wight… I got the health inspector around to check… why I had been made so ill… with good poisoning… he said the fridges were broken.

I see a lot of reviews here aren't about Tripadvisor itself, it's about a trip that someone is reviewing, or clearly meant for some other site that they bought something from. Needs a good clean up. I do see quite a few people complaining about their reviews having been deleted and fake reviews but I personally haven't experienced this. TripAdvisor remains my top choice after 20 years for ratings and reviews of things to do, where to stay and eat whenever I plan to travel.

I’d been a reviewer on Tripadvisor since 2009 writing many reviews giving a range of ratings in an impartial manner from 1s to 5s.

In the last few days Tripadvisor decided to delete 3 of my reviews and because the UK is not in the EU there is no right of appeal against their decision.

Tripadvisor wrongly claimed I received a financial reward from my reviews; this is a false and wholly unjustified allegation.

I’m unwilling to have my reviews unjustifiably removed so hundreds of my reviews have been removed and my account closed.

I have lost complete trust in Tripadvisor

Never been treated so badly anywhere. The manager was not in the least helpful, I’d go so far as to say he was rude and arrogant. He refused to assist a member of our group with regard to a food allergy. Offended another member of our group in his address to her. Absolutely will not go again. Aweful experience.

The hotel choice is ok, but the info of hotel provided is unclear.

I ordered some coasters from printster. I was a little reluctant as reviews were very mixed. But I had no issues what so ever. My coasters are amazing . They came quicker than I thought . I even had an email to see if everything was ok with my order. I will definitely use this company again.

I ordered what looked like a beautiful dress from Elepasion to wear at a xmas party but when it arrived it I was disgusted when I opened the parcel. The dress was nothing like the one the model on their site was wearing, it was like someone had drawn it onto a piece of cheap material! I will never order from this company again. They are scammers!

we went to the white city shop for our first baby appointment . we look at car seat , stroller , crib ... OM was very helpful in explaining and so polite . i have agreat experience and would highly recommend.

Trip advisor owns Viator. Customers who book through trip advisor tours are directed to viator. Viator is a complete scam (see reviews). Trip advisor takes no responsibility for viator. Sorry Trip advisor. It is your responsibility. Fix viator and give refunds to the 100s of people who have been scammed.

Do not use Tripadvisor. They have flatly refused to publish a review of a local hostelry, because I severely criticised it for appearing open, but we were denied access as they had a private function. There were no notices anywhere stating the place was closed. Tripadvisor just will not publish. Bad.

Advertise as cashmere false representation.
No returns address with package.
Do not respond to emails to return.

This site appears populated by bots or automated entries. There are profiles that appear random and all offer four and five star reviews. They seem generated to create artificial positive publicity for a venue and to outweigh negative reviews. Tripadvisor provides no protections for this and in fact their systems don’t allow reporting against profiles that seem artificial. By default, they invite this kind of artificial interaction and without the appropriate safety nets in place, anyone using Tripadvisor should be cautious of the reviews published on their website and app.

Anyone who has used TripAdvisor regularly will notice how the company has changed in recent years.
The rise of social media and the huge number of obviously fake posters and reviews in TA has rendered it untrustworthy.
Destination forums are now populated by a small coterie of self-interested high count posters which TA allow to self-police.
Often they bored elderly expats or myopic locals who remove posts for no reason other than no-one likes to be told they live in a dump.
Few people under the age of 40 engage with them any more preferring social media where their opinions and views are not censored for commercial reasons.
Because this is where TA's dishonesty comes in.
As their traditional USP rapidly disappears they've moved even more into selling stuff via their Viator division and their hundreds of other commercial partners.
And any negative reviews that are bad for that business are liable to be removed.
Rick Steves has disappeared down the same rabbit hole.
Anything that's bad for their business of flogging stuff gets removed.
All of these online travel forums run by organisations that also sell travel are compromised and TripAdvisor is the worst of the lot.
Believe absolutely nothing you read on it.

This website is run by a bunch of virtue signaling freaks. They won’t let me post an honest review of an experience I had in Ireland because they picked Ireland as their top travel destination of 2024, they do not let you post reviews when it goes against their silly awards. I tried to change my review multiple times, and no matter what I wrote the mediators just keep denying my review. It’s a matter of fact I was racially profiled based upon my nationality, it’s not news that some Irish people do not like British people. It’s okay, I don’t mind. But I do mind when I’m unable to post an honest review of my experience in multiple restaurants that failed to cook food properly, failed to provide table service, poor hotels that were claiming to be 5 stars but more like 3 stars. Google let me post my reviews, but trip advisor said I was being racist because I said I was miss treated because I’m British. These things happen all over the world to lots of people from lots of different nationalities. Some local people just get caught up with the news and forget that there is a real person behind the face that might not agree with political decisions made by their government. I did meet lots of lovely Irish people, which I mentioned. The liberalism of Tripadvisor is real. It’s run by some real strange people.

Had a fabulous 3 days at The Lord Crewe Hotel in Bamburgh. The hotel is excellent, staff very friendly, the food is superb. The rooms are are very spacious and well looked after.Close to both the castle and Grace Darling museum will definitely stay again.

My husband and I booked a week at a Parkdean site in our touring caravan the site Ty Mawr, cost £113 unfortunately for medical reasons we had to cancel we are both in our 80s and can not afford to lose this money but Parkdean have refused a refund or to move this holiday to a later date, I think this is despicable and will not be using Parkdean in future or recommending them to anyone else.
