Flawless Organization and a Joyful Carriage Ride in Edfu

We were a group of friends and we picked this tour for the balloon and Abu Simbel. It did not disappoint. Sailing from Luxor to Aswan is the way to see Egypt. You get off, see a temple, get back on, and relax. The ship had a small pool which was great after a hot day. Truly Egypt Tours has the timing down perfectly. The overall experience is seamless. The admission to all attractions is handled. The length of the tour is perfect. The atmosphere is fun and social. Our crowd was just our friend group and a few others. The staff on the cruise made us feel special. This is best for a group of friends wanting adventure.

Thank you so much for your glowing review of our Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan! We’re thrilled to hear that the balloon ride, Abu Simbel visit, and that joyful carriage ride in Edfu made your adventure with friends truly unforgettable.
It’s fantastic that you enjoyed the seamless organization, the small pool for those refreshing dips after hot temple explorations, and the fun, social atmosphere on board. Our team takes pride in handling all admissions and timings perfectly so you can just relax and soak in Egypt’s wonders.
We’d love to welcome you and your friends back for more Egyptian magic—perhaps a private felucca sail or a desert safari next time?
Warm regards,
The Truly Egypt Tours Team

LACKS TRANSPARENCY - HIDDEN FEES UNEXPLAINED.

I’m sharing this experience to help other travellers make a good decision.

At the start, communication from this company was very quick and responsive when I was enquiring about booking. Replies were often received within minutes, which initially gave a positive impression.

However, once I began asking specific questions about fees and transparency, the situation changed. When I raised concerns about mandatory payments, tipping policies, and what was actually included, responses slowed significantly and then stopped altogether. It has now been two days with no reply.

What raised particular concern for me was a clear contradiction in the information provided:
Initially, I was told that I was free to use third-party operators and/or purchase entrance tickets independently.

Later, when I asked about a mandatory payment on arrival for tipping as highlighted on one of their customer reviews, I was told that there is a mandatory payment of $250, this was not highlighted on their website.

They also said the 250 USD covers entrance tickets and sites as well as tipping upfront.

These two statements contradict each other. If entrance fees and sites are already bundled into a mandatory upfront payment, then using third-party operators or buying tickets independently would be impractical and potentially lead to paying twice.

Despite asking for clarification and a clear breakdown in writing, they stopped responding.

The sudden drop in communication once transparency was requested and challenged, combined with unclear and contradictory explanations around mandatory payments, raised serious concerns for me as a traveller trying to plan responsibly and avoid unexpected charges on arrival.

I would strongly advise future customers to ask very detailed questions in writing before committing, and to be cautious if clear, consistent answers are not provided.

(I will also paste the company’s last response below so readers can see the wording themselves.)

Truly Egypt has replied to your enquiry

Thank you for your questions about tipping. In Egypt, tipping is a way of life and essential to support our team.

Tipping Collection
We collect $250 USD per person upon your arrival in Egypt. This amount covers entrance fees to all sites in your itinerary, as well as tips for drivers and cruise crew (not for tour guides).
This ensures smooth operations and allows you to focus on enjoying the trip without daily collections.

Warm regards,

BUYER BEWARE!!!

BUYER BEWARE!!!! DO NOT BOOK WITH TRULY EGYPT. Make sure you have a QR Code with your PCR test. Nov 2021, we got all the way to Germany and we were not allowed to enter Egypt and missed our tour because our PCR Test did not have a QR code. Via Lufthansa. Mind you, Lufthansa's website never said anything about a QR code. QR codes weren't even available in my home state of the USA. Truly Egypt refused to rebook us and we lost all our money.
UPDATE***After posting a bad google review, we were asked to remove it and they would allow us to rebook December 2022. August 2022-We tried to rebook and they refused again. TourRadar tried to get them to reconsider AGAIN and they still refused. Germany airport wouldn't allow us to travel to Cairo without a QR Code. We had all the documentation but it did not have a QR code. Our state in the United States does not provide QR codes. Therefore we missed our tour. We got new tests with QR codes, $500 later. The airline was unable to get us to Egypt in time for the tour. Instead of rebooking us the next day we were put on standby with 30 other people. Truly Egypt agreed to allow us to rebook our tour after a bad review on Google. So we removed the review. Later, we were told we could not rebook. Our dream of seeing Egypt has been crushed. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity down the drain. :'( $8000 lost to a promise from Mac to rebook

Thank you for sharing your experience from 2021. We truly regret that external circumstances prevented your travel and understand how disappointing this must have been.
According to our terms and conditions, which are clearly stated at the time of booking, same-day cancellations are not possible as all components—including hotels, Nile cruises, and airline tickets—are prepaid and non-refundable. In your case, the German authorities and Lufthansa denied boarding due to the PCR test lacking a QR code, a requirement beyond our control as a tour operator. We always recommend verifying all entry and airline rules in advance, as these can change and vary by departure country.
We appreciate your update regarding the later attempt to rebook. While we strive to accommodate clients whenever feasible, the significant time gap and scheduling constraints made it unworkable. Truly Egypt Tours remains committed to delivering exceptional service to those who can join us, and we hope you have another opportunity to visit Egypt’s wonders.
Warm regards,
Mac
