Worse customer service I ever experienced. Conflicting answers to every question I have had. As for quarterly OTC products covered - good luck. 99 percent of OTC products NOT covered. If you need... See more

Having to deal with offshore agents…
EVERY ONE WHO HAS BEEN TAKEN BY UHC SHOULD CONSIDER GOING TO THEIR LOCAL MEDIA TO REPORT THE AWFUL SERVICE THEY GOT! TIME TO NAME AND SHAME IDIOT UNITED HEALTHCARE!!!!
Having to deal with offshore agents make me want to gag! Tonight I had to call 3 different numbers to get an answer to my question. The 3rd call dropped my call entirely so I have to make a FOURTH call. The are hard to understand and do NOT listen when you ask them a question or ask for a clarification. I have to grit my teeth EVERY time I have to call United Health because the experience will ALWAYS be terrible! I am going to dump them like a hot potato in 2027 since I continue to experience disappointing contacts the UHC.
UHC dental rider NOT cover anything but routing cleanings
I added dental rider and pay extra premium when I was checking with the dental customer service at UHC. Yes, the plan will cover any works other than routing cleanings. And wait wait for 4/1, coverage got effective and had dental office to verify, then was told NO, no coverage for fillings. So, there is no way to get money back and just waste my time for waiting.
Incompetence at its finest
Incompetence at its finest. I’m on Medicaid after being laid off. Every time I order prescriptions or my doctor does it gets messed up. I ordered refills 3 weeks ago to make sure they came in time for my trip, and they managed to mess them up in two ways. Prescriptions cost me $0, yet they delayed shipping because they said they couldn’t verify my payment method. What do you need a payment method for??? Plus, you have my correct credit card information! One prescription my doctor called in was a dosage increase. They don’t cover it because they only cover the tablet form. So, they call my doctor’s office and say I need “an alternative”. They didn’t say a word about tablet v/s capsules, which confused my doctor and delayed it further, so I had to get it sent to a local pharmacy. Here I am unemployed, and I could do 100% better job than these bozos.
Cannot understand representatives
This is a very inconsistent provider. Depends who answers and it is very difficult to understand the person, I called 4 times in less than 1 hour and all of them were the same. It was a very dissatisfactory experience and I would not recommend this insurance to anyone I know. Very terrible service!
I spent over 30 minutes on the phone…
I spent over 30 minutes on the phone with the automated system to be transferred finally to a LIVE person, then switched to three different people then back to the automated system. RIDICULOUS!!!!!!! BAD BAD BUSINESS..... I WOULD NOT CHOOSE THEM AS MY PROVIDER.
I have been put out of many healthcare…
I have been put out of many healthcare establishments because my untied healthcare community plan isn’t covering a simple urgent care trip for a sore throat. I’m not spending 300$ out of pocket for a sore throat. They have switched ALL of my medication brands because of this change as well . I will not be using untied healthcare as of 2027.
The worst ever
The worst ever. The rides for medical have left me stranded repeatedly. As a handicapped senior they offer nothing but stress. I have to walk 3 1/2 miles home from appointment if the return ride shows up 90% of the time they are drunk or extremely high.
Feels Like You Pay for Nothing
If I could give zero stars, I would. This company takes your premiums every month without hesitation, but when you actually need help, suddenly everything becomes “not covered.” I spent hours dealing with their system, only to be bounced between departments with no clear answers.
Customer support is incredibly frustrating—long hold times, scripted responses, and no real solutions. It honestly feels like they are trained to delay and exhaust you rather than assist you.
What’s worse is the constant confusion around benefits. You think something is included, and then you’re hit with unexpected costs anyway. At that point, you start wondering what exactly you’re even paying for.
Overall, this experience has been stressful, time-consuming, and disappointing. I would strongly advise anyone to carefully consider other options before signing up.
UHC Medicare website and benefits continue to disappoint
UHC Medicare Advantage allegedly pays a $10/mo reward if one walks at least ten times in that month (there is a minimum of how many steps one must take to count). Today, using my laptop and 28" monitor to log in, zero walks were shown for April. UHC's website directed me to log in using my phone app. (I previously filed an internal discrimination complaint with UHC for forcing me to use their app when I have vision problems; this is another violation vis a vis people with vision problems who have difficulty reading and writing on a cellphone). However, I succeeded in logging in using my phone and saw that my three walks so far were recorded. I then returned to my laptop to confirm, and can't log back onto the UHC site using my laptop. I tried repeatedly. There was no popup saying that they were having technical difficulties or anything like that.
Today I also visited the OTC "store" to use up my quarterly OCT allowance. As usual, the inventory at the online store was bare and almost non-existent. This means if I want to make an OTC "purchase" with my points, I'll have to drive to a bricks and mortar business. I'm able to do this, but what about all the UHC members who are unable to do so? Many Medicare members (like me) are aged or disabled.
In both instances, these are examples of problems with UHC where they offer rewards and benefits, but in real life, they don't seem to provide them. Although their services are better than they used to be, they're still awful. I gave up trying to get monthly rewards for walking several years ago - a $10 reward didn't begin to compensate me for having to call customer service every month to obtain rewards that should be uploaded from my iPhone and/or Apple watch automatically (or from a Garmin or other device).
No wonder the UHC stock has been going downhill for months now and UHC is being investigated by the federal government. I only stick with my UHC Medicare Advantage plan because the benefits are better for me than with some of UHC's competitors. But I may reconsider next October!
I could go on and on, as I have more gripes, but the above gripes are just from today's experience.
United Health Care is worthless
United Health Care is worthless. If try to call them all you can get is a machine or someone that has no idea how to speak English. They change your plans every year to get less and causing you to have to pay more. Just a worthless company.
UHC Is not for Permanently disabled
I’m permanently disabled, legally blind, and epileptic. I live alone in Texas, without family or trusted UHC benefits. Instead, they’ll leave me to die! I take medication I’m allergic to, which is my seizure medication. My primary care physician has to see me to get the adjustment, but UHC took emergency rides away! I tried to go to Urgent Care for my seizure and symptoms of a high heart rate spike of 123 bpm and chest spasms! They said we could schedule an appointment for Monday! Smh! I’ll see you in court if something happens to me because I’m allergic to medication I’m taking! I had a hospital stay for five days, and they didn’t provide meals after discharge! They took them away, and I can’t cook! They’re killing me!
Received the united healthcare cash…
Received the united healthcare cash card and does not work on any of the providers, specialist and dentist that we go to .Another way to waste peoples time and money
Definitely not more than 1 star
Their provider portal is good, for printing insurance cards if you need another, but otherwise, be like Luigi and #DefendDenyDepose (any interaction you have with them.)
United Garbage Care
United Garbage Care took two years and I am still getting bills two years later for a procedure that I already payed hundreds of dollars out of pocket for previous bills. If you want inefficient, and lackluster service, spend your hard earned money on this entity of the broken healthcare system.
After 4 years on a medication…
After 4 years on a medication for a chronic, they denied it. A month later and after many angry calls and my doctor spending countless time sending information they reversed it on appeal. In 2025, theyo spent $4,469,669 that's 4.5BILLION in political campaign contributions. No wonder our elected representatives do nothing to rein this in. Publicly traded companies should not be allowed to own all of the business that control your healthcare. These people are evil.
Recently I tried to make an appointment…
Recently I tried to make an appointment with my orthopedic doctor. I was told (after numerous routine questions that I now had to have a ‘referral’ from my PC.
What???? I have been going to this doctor for years. So, ok, I asked my PC for the referral and he sent it over. However, they didn’t receive it. This went on thru 4 phones calls and waiting. I finally got it done, but WHY this silliness? I was told by my doctor that United Healthcare is the ONLY insurance company that requres this and when he asked why, they said it was to save them $$$. It causes unnecessary paperwork plus patient aggravation. ARGH
Too Many Issues, Not Enough Support
My experience has been very frustrating from start to finish. Claims that should have been straightforward were delayed or denied, and getting clear answers from customer service was nearly impossible. I was transferred multiple times and often received different information from different representatives. On top of that, the out-of-pocket costs were higher than expected, even for basic services. The lack of transparency and consistency made the whole process stressful. Overall, not a reliable experience and definitely not what I expected from a healthcare provider.
I am deeply dissatisfied with united…
I am deeply dissatisfied with united healthcare insurance.every possible good doctor is out of net work, when i try to talk to supervisor she told me that i could have surch by myself/i had issue with finding if the dr is in or out of network . the issue was that the same name for that dr is in network for his billing address but out of network for the location.Velizara Stoeva
Don't if you can help it!
I lost my Medicare Advantage plan because Providence dropped it.
I signed on United Healthcare because my options were few.
It was a big mistake!
I cannot say one positive thing about United Healthcare!
After three months, I still don't have a Primary Care Provider!
I have High Blood Pressure and a tumor in my left kidney.
You might get better healthcare at 7-11!!!
I had a very frustrating experience…
I had a very frustrating experience with UnitedHealthcare regarding a medical claim that has still not been processed after approximately 18 months.
My healthcare provider submitted the claim, and I was later contacted by the insurance company to provide additional documentation, including medical records and lab reports. I submitted everything as requested.
However, despite multiple follow-ups, there is still no record of this claim in my patient portal, and my provider has not received any reimbursement.
Each time I contact them, I am either given vague responses or redirected to another email address, without any clear explanation or resolution. No claim number has ever been provided.
This level of delay and lack of accountability is extremely concerning. A claim that has been acknowledged and supplemented with documentation should not disappear from the system for over a year.
I have now filed a formal complaint with the Kansas Insurance Department.
I strongly advise others to keep detailed records and closely monitor their claims when dealing with this company.
