AVOID AT ALL COST - USE GRO

Ordered a full birth certificate 16/2/26, at a cost of over £26, which surprised me as a friend had got one for £16 but you don't find out the price until you've entered all your details and I didn't realise I wasn't on the govt site as this had popped up on there.
I was told it would take 10 days, however it arrived yesterday, some 16 days later, in a flimsy envelope, looking like it had gone through a baling machine, creased, folded and scrunched up. As if that wasn't bad enough it's not even a certified copy but a photocopy of the record on A4 certificate coloured paper, complete with spelling mistakes obviously made on entry and subsequently crossed out - nothing like an original certificate. This won't be accepted for the bereavement claim I'm in the process of pursuing.
To add further insult to injury I received an email from them this morning, saying my payment hadn't gone through and to make a BACS payment to cover the amount. The payment left my account and cleared the day after ordering, on 17/2/26.
Presumably this is a scam and had I not checked, or if I'd been a vulnerable elderly person I might have paid another £26+

I needed my birth certificate with apostille quickly done and sent overseas at the same time. They were very responsive and communicated really well.
100 % would recommend them!

Within an hour I asked to cancel my order of a duplicate certificate as I had received no email confirmation that the order had been received. I was fobbed off with the excuse that they have a problem with hotmail accounts and they would not cancel the order. Considering they say it takes 10 days to process and deliver they had ample notice that I wished to cancel. Awful, money- grabbing company. Avoid

I needed a new birth certificate Apostilled and sent to me abroad where I live, so I can apply for a foreign citizenship. I spoke to Simon on the phone before applying online just to sense check my order before I placed it and he was incredibly helpful. The form took a few minutes to complete, and my Apostilled, ink-signed certificate arrived in just under 20 business days as promised. Thank you for a seamless and stress-free experience, I can't recommend UK Official Records enough!

Puzzled at the reviews on here as I recently applied for a replacement birth certificate,not only did the new one arrive even before the 10 day time quoted but it arrived in a sturdy envelope and not a cheap tatty photocopy but looks like an identical red colour birth certificate same as my lost 1960 one ,the companies service has been prompt and polite and I would recommend them to colleagues at my work place .

We decided that we would like to marry in Cyprus, after looking up the official requirements, panic set in as my certificates had been either destroyed or were photocopies which weren't acceptable. So the frankly scary process of obtaining copies started. Thankfully, Simon and Mark have been amazing. Today 29th November 2025 I received the last certificate.
Yes, searches for some certificates and apostilling did take what seemed forever and I sent quite a few panic emails to Simon and Mark.
to which they swiftly replied and reassured me.
So thank you again.

Warning this site charges crazy amounts of money and fails to deliver anythign no contact no communication luckily my credit card refunded me this site is a con !

Do not recommend. Stay away from this company. Have paid for express service and had to wait more then two weeks for getting the document back and this happened after hanging on the phone with them. I'm sure it could take a lot longer if I didn't phoned. They lied for the document been sent on a earlier date which they didn't. I've requested a tracking number of the postage which they had to provide me without asking for just to discover they have sent the document exactly after me complaining on the phone. Just use the government site. The wait will be the same the you'll pay third of the price.

UKOfficial Records promptly answered the smallest query I experienced in this new process for me. However the preparation of the Apostille was quick.
I felt confident every step of the way.

Stay away from these people they are overpriced and incompetent. Go to the official government site. They are cheaper and know what they are doing.

There have been formal reviews of these type of services. All have suggested AVOID. These reviews are difficult to access as the reviews were in 2011. I did not see these reviews. For a certificate I paid three times the amount that I would have paid if I had gone to my local council registrar. What I eventually received was a worthless piece of paper as it carried no official stamp and signature. In addition, the advertisement appeared to be stating that you can obtain the document in 24 hours. This is not the case. What they mean is that they open your email in 24 hours. AVOID AVOID THESE COMPANIES THEY ARE MAKING EASY MONEY AT YOUR EXPENSE
