I was seen on time, no waiting , and the waiting room was cool so if I had waited it would not have been unpleasant. The doctor was very pleasant and soothing so I did not feel frightened about the injection I was about to have, although I knew it was going to hurt.

Walked 190 miles after two steroid injections and without a problem.
Emerson was excellent. I had a very painful knee from a damaged meniscus and after two steroid injections and some gym and physio work I managed a 190 mile walk over 13 days completely pain free. 4 weeks later the pain hasn’t returned but I keep up the gym work and physio exercises. Emerson gave me great advice and the two ultrasound examinations identified the problem, and aided the injections. It all worked well.

I had booked a guided injection appointment with Dave Baker but he quickly identified that I urgently needed an orthopaedic consultation and an injection was not appropriate at this time.
Dave carefully aspirated fluid from my knee to ease the pain caused by swelling.

Successful steroid injection
I had an ongoing running-related tendon problem that wasn't improving, and Chris Myers was excellent throughout. He took the time to understand the issue, explained the options clearly, and was pragmatic and solution-focused in his approach.
We initially tried shockwave therapy before moving on to a steroid injection when it became clear that a different approach was needed. I particularly appreciated that Chris was open-minded and willing to explore different treatment options rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
Professional, knowledgeable and genuinely focused on helping me get back to running - I eventually managed to run a 86km ultra marathon a few months after steroid injection which looked extremely unlikely beforehand.
Highly recommended.

AVOID FOR SPINAL INJECTIONS
Wasted £935 and the doctor lacked the proper deep-spine training
It has now been exactly 14 days (two weeks) since my procedure at this clinic, and I have had zero results. Absolutely zero pain relief, and zero local anesthetic numbness.
I paid £935 for a deep transforaminal epidural steroid injection for an L5/S1 bulging disc. The MSK doctor performed the procedure using an Ultrasound machine, explicitly telling me that ultrasound is "just as good as an X-ray" and that "it's all about technique." This is completely false. Ultrasound waves cannot see through dense pelvic bone, meaning the doctor could only do a blind, shallow injection into the muscle outside the bone, hoping the fluid would miraculously spread to the nerve.
I have since been referred to an actual hospital Pain Management Consultant. When this specialist looked at my paperwork from this clinic, they were appalled. They confirmed that deep transforaminal spinal injections MUST be done in a sterile theatre using live X-ray (Fluoroscopy) with contrast dye to safely navigate past the bone.
What is truly shocking is discovering how an MSK doctor is even allowed to perform deep spinal injections in the first place. In a standard hospital setting, they are not licensed or permitted to do so. They are exploiting a loophole in private medicine. In their primary medical education, MSK doctors are trained strictly to perform shallow injections (like joints and muscles). They are using this basic shallow training to justify attempting deep spinal injections on human lives—complex interventions that they were never formally trained to perform on the central nervous system.
It is unforgivable to risk a patient's health and take their hard-earned money by performing a procedure you are neither fundamentally trained nor equipped to do.
If you have a herniated disc or severe sciatica, do not waste your money here. Bypass the MSK doctors and go straight to a hospital Pain Management Consultant or Spinal Surgeon who actually has the proper training and X-ray equipment.

As discussed during your consultation, no spinal injection can guarantee symptom relief, and unfortunately some patients do not respond despite the procedure being performed appropriately. This possibility was discussed with you before treatment and documented in your consultation records.
We are concerned that a number of statements made in your review are factually inaccurate and would respectfully draw attention to the following points.
Ultrasound-guided spinal injections are an established technique supported by feasibility studies, randomised controlled trials, systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Published research has demonstrated that, in appropriately selected patients, ultrasound-guided spinal injections can provide outcomes comparable to fluoroscopy-guided procedures, whilst avoiding exposure to ionising radiation.
It is also important to note that NICE (the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence), which provides guidance for healthcare practice in the UK, does not state that spinal injections must be performed using fluoroscopy (X-ray guidance). NICE recognises that image-guided spinal injections can be performed using different techniques and does not mandate one form of imaging over another. As with many procedures, the most important factors are appropriate patient selection, clinician training, experience and safety.
The medical consultant clinician who performed your procedure has extensive experience in spinal injection practice within both NHS and private settings, has completed dedicated fellowship training in ultrasound-guided spinal interventions, holds internationally recognised certification from the World Institute of Pain, and has performed thousands of spinal injections with excellent outcomes and an outstanding safety record. He also established one of the UK's first NHS ultrasound-guided spinal injection services.
As documented in both your consultation and correspondence to your GP, recommendations were also made regarding onward specialist review should your symptoms persist. In fact, an NHS spinal review was specifically suggested to help ensure you had timely access to any further investigations or specialist opinions that may be required.

Excellent thorough exam and ultrasound
I am in London on holiday. Shortly after I arrived I started having a lot of knee pain due to a torn meniscus and subsequently hip and thigh pain. I was in a lot of pain and unable to walk around. I had to order a cane from Amazon as I could not bear any weight on my left leg. I am so thrilled I found Complete Physio and more importantly Emerson Fernandez. He was lovely to deal with, extremely professional and knowledgeable and did a thorough exam and ultrasound on both my knee and my hip. We wound up deciding on Cortisone injections which has had a tremendous positive impact on my trip. I cannot thank Emerson enough for rescuing my trip!
