Sham site

Sham site. We ordered a 'Martin Natural Timber Bed Frame' and what was sent out was different and substandard - even name of the product on the box and instructions was clearly labelled 'Alfordson Bed Frame' (different to what we purchased). Order #3981
The product sent had 8 significant differences (the colour, differences in construction, substandard materials, structural support).
CUSTOMER SERVICE IS WOEFUL, with back and forth emails asking the same questions and requesting the same photos over again (which we sent them more than they needed) yet no confirmation we would get a refund despite Ventura Living breaching Australian consumer law for misleading advertising on a product.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SHAM COMPANY!
Under Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010, specifically the Australian Consumer Law (ACL):
- Section 56 guarantees that goods must match their description.
- Section 54 guarantees that goods must be of acceptable quality. Because the product delivered completely departs from the description and fails acceptable quality standards, this constitutes a 'Major Failure' under Section 260 of the ACL.

BAIT & SWITCH - DO NOT buy from this company!!

I paid $450 plus postage for what looked like a beautiful bed frame from an "Australian" company. What arrived was a product that's available on Amazon for around $200 with the original Chinese manufacturer's branding still on it.
The quality was atrocious and unsafe. Unfinished timber covered in long sharp splinters, multiple planks visibly warped.

I immediately contacted them to return it but they kept giving me the run around, asked me to individually label and photograph every defective part, and tried to excuse the Chinese branding as "differences in manufacturing". How is that acceptable??

When I tried to warn other buyers on IG and Facebook the company blocked me and deleted my comments.

It took many emails back and forth with their customer service, who consistently stalled and ignored or pretended to not read my specific concerns and just responded with canned responses/AI generated script until they finally agreed to accept an exchange. Even then, they again asked for photos of the box "so we can generate the return label" even though I'd literally sent them those photos the day before.

EDIT: On top of all that, apparently they've also signed me up to SMS marketing I didn't consent to.

Do not buy from this company!
