Cat had horrible reaction to Cerumene

I used their Cerumene ear wax treatment only one time and my cat had a horrific reaction to this. I only used it on one ear, not both of them, but I followed their directions and filled their ear with this noxious liquid. Now my cat's ear is red, inflamed, warm to the touch and sensitive to touch. They definitely should have put a warning on the bottle to test-spot this with a little dab and check it over 24 hours before filling the ear with this harmful substance. My cat is not sensitive and has never had allergic reactions to other over-the-counter or prescription meds or treatments. This only includes three ingredients but I'm guessing one of them is just horrible for cats or they do not even do quality control on their own products. I bet they never even did testing on this product for allergic reactions. They are in France, not America, even though they have their U.S. headquarters out in Texas. The customer service response when I called the company was pitiful. I got the impression nobody cared and that the company had never made the effort to even do quality control on their own products. I believe they are here to pillage and make money and nothing more. I will avoid any product with the name Vetoquinol on it in the future.

Very bad reaction for my cat

In writing this review I have been in touch with Vetoquinol and they have been of great assistance so my 1 star rating only refers to the product.

I cannot add photos but my cat has this huge white patch of skin on the back of her neck and all the fur has fallen out (she's scratched it off). It is about the size of two 50 cent pieces.

We used FELPREVA SPOT ON. I'm so regretting it. She has always had reactions to topical treatments but this is the worst I have ever seen. I feel like a bad mother. I won't be using any topical treatment on my cat going forward. She's been very quiet and sleeping a lot but is eating and toileting ok.

Please be wary when considering using this product and others for your pet! Consider if it is really necessary.
