About Vets Now
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

I wouldn’t recommend this place even if would be the only one on the planet.Ingnorance and incompetence killed my cat , I was begging for the right treatment for my cat ,money weren’t a problem for me,but they refused to save my cat , when I had the confirmation from another vet in the other side of the country that he can be saved if I’ll take him to emergency. Me and my husband were crying in front of the doctor begging for a treatment to be save the cat ,and the doctor took advantage of the situation and he charged us £1015 instead of £460. A week later I’ve seen the invoice by mistake and I realised I was fooled, my cat had one injection 0,25 units, and I was charged for 25 injections, their explanation was : tipping mistake 🤣
Vets are not there to save our loved pets , most of them are just heartless people, running multi-millions pound business. This is what we are for them , just a way of making list of money !

The staff were very efficient when we arrived as it was at 20.30 in the evening. Just one person before us. Our 15 month old dog had been vomiting all evening. The vet gave him aa thorough examination and decided 3 options as his only symptoms were vomiting the last one having streaks of blood. We could have an abdominal scan, an cray or injection to stop the vomiting. As he was not unwell except for vomiting we went for the injection. No pressure it was up to us and he agreed.

Very quick response
Very quick response. Excellent friendly service.
Explained everything clearly and gave us all the information we needed.
Expensive 20 mins but worth it for peace of mind, and our dog was well cared for.

Nearly perfect except one important matter
Initial consultation was good but after the call didn’t receive email or text giving me the vet’s address where I needed to be taking my dog. Fortunately, I’d scanned for nearest vet to me at time which turned out to be the correct one. Experience at vets was first class.

Lovely Ver
The vet who saw our puppy was lovely, very thorough trying to find what was wrong with him. She was also very aware of cost as this was an emergency appointment. She asked us to phone with an update which I did. The only down side was the receptionist I spoke to just said the vet had gone home and because he wasn't any worse (he wasn't any better either) didn't seem interested. Just said they were open 24 hours if he got worse. It turns out the anti inflammatory injection the emergency vet suggested giving him if we took him back was just what he needed after it was given to him by our vet.

Efficient - expensive
Efficient, professional staff.
But very expensive.
My cat had attack wounds, admitted on a Sunday morning, stayed overnight and transferred to own vets on Monday morning - cost £2000.50p ! I have seen the breakdown you provide and understand about high costs. I had no alternative because my vets has a contract with you for out of hours work. Own vets charging £850 for admission and first day and night then £350 per 24 hours nursing care after that.

Emergency appointment
The nearest emergency vets to me. They were very professional and helpful with Layla my dog when I needed to take her out of hours of my vets. Sadly I lost her to rainbow 🌈 bridge when I got back to local vets. I wouldn't hesitate to any future pets I have again in an emergency.
