Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.

Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.

Lifesaving.

Within a few moments just before christmas, one of our young dogs, became very ill, very fast. Thinking it was twisted stomach, we called, and after redirection to Vets Now, we drove the 40 min to Glasgow with him. Everyone was very nice, calming, reassuring and positive. My beloved dog was treated wonderfully, and the outcome has been positive. The resulting incision is clean, and was remarkably well done. My only concern, was that twice, before and after the xray to confirm twisted stomach, we were given the option of taking him home. Which I felt was very weird. Had I not have had previous knowledge of how dire and deadly the condition was, I might have been stupid enough to do that, and ended up with a dead dog. While I understand giving clients options, there was no real explanation of the reality of the prognosis of twisted stomach, however, I did not ask for one, being previously aware of the condition.
Other than that, the care and concern for both owners and pet, was exemplary and we are very thankful to have our boy back.

Can’t thank them enough

Can’t thank them enough! People who really do care about animals and not money. I found myself at a dead end when my usual vets emergency line asked for payment up front then to claim back the insurance. I’m on disability money and do not have that type of money lying around. I wasn’t made to feel any type of way when I told them my situation and they even helped me claim through my insurance. The ladies at reception were so caring and sympathetic towards my dog Tucker. Made to feel at ease and the vet was absolutely spot on, so full of knowledge on everything I asked about. Once again I am so so greatfull for this place and thank you again!!

Very knowledgeable

Our dog Cooper was transferred from our own vets to here because they don’t do the 24hr care. We took him over and they were expecting us. The clinician was very knowledgeable and informative. She came over as very confident which we appreciated because we were so worried. We knew he was in good hands. We were informed of tests, scans he would be receiving and costs. We called in the morning and the nurse taking care of him during the night was very happy to come to the phone and tell us how his night went. The clinician that came on duty in the morning called us about 8:45am to ask us to come and pick him up at 10am. I put the phone on loud speaker when she was explaining everything, but we struggled to understand her due to her accent. We decided to speak about it when we got there. It was thick with fog in Glasgow and the traffic wasn’t moving at all in some parts. We called ahead to say we were sorry but we’d be 20 minutes late. The clinician came out with Cooper and spoke to us for a few minutes at the door. We only got bits of what she was saying and she said you are late. I explained about the fog but we didn’t think she was too happy with us. It was £1000 and we we had no idea if he got all the tests and scans we were told about and we asked how high was the pancreatitis graded. She said I told you already, it was high. We chose to speak to our own vet as we got the part that our vet had been updated. He was due to go back and spend the day with them. We are very grateful for all the care he received. It was just the one that came on duty in the morning. I just wouldn’t like to have that person again.
After spending the day in our own vet he was allowed home with us.
Thank you very much for taking care of our wee Cooper. He was very well looked after all night.
