Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The staff were quite good. It's the ludicrous bill that's at issue. My dog's injured leg was examined for 10 minutes for me to be told it needed an X ray. Well of course. Two injections for pain and inflammation at £40 ea the bill came to £400. I imagine this is classic vulture capitalism at work which we have been hearing a lot about with vets.. Most probably this practice is owned by a hedge fund whose modus operandi is to squeeze you for all it can.

Not our usual vets but we recently used them for an out of hours emergency with our poorly cat. They were very friendly and considerate, which was what we needed considering how tired and concerned we were.
From our first phone call we received texts with the location of the clinic and notifications throughout our visit. It was quiet when we went but their system looked to be well suited to deal with busy periods and keeping you informed.
Our vet, Tamsin, was very thorough in trying to diagnose our cat and very empathetic to the fact she was such a nervous former rescue. We felt confident in trusting she had our cat's best interest at heart, not just doing tests or issuing medication for the sake of it.
The receptionist was also very helpful with starting the insurance claim process and explaining what we needed to do next. Cost is no different to anywhere else, but that's why we have insurance.
The good news is that our cat has now made a full recovery. I hope we won't need to use the out of hour services again for a long time, but if we do then I would be more than happy to use Vets Now again.

Professional and considerate service. The nurse is very nice and assisted me to contact my vet to provide care for my cat.

The vet, Lara, was very informative and reassured us regarding our cat’s health, giving us helpful advice and the price of £24 I think was very reasonable for the 15 minute consultation.

Never been to these guys before, was recommended as it was an emergency and they could see me more or less as soon as I got there. All staff were friendly, professional and very understanding. Thud (my cat) was totally calm with them, which I have never seen before with my usual vets.

Very considerate making sure dog was ok. Stayed in a quiet area as he’s very nervous and staff offered him water. No hanging around and staff very calm

If you have a pet that is classed as "exotic" - DO NOT GO HERE! The vet kept saying he wasn't confident doing anything to an exotic species, not even a simple ultrasound! He also wanted to give my pet painkillers that "may do more harm than good." He wasted over an hour telling me various different ways of he wasn't confident even though he's classed as an 'experienced vet.' She was lively when we were there, within a couple of hours of being home, she went downhill very fast and passed away. For an emergency vet to tell you they aren't confident to deal with exotic species is shocking!

Every member of staff could not have been more empathetic and compassionate. There were a number of emergencies and the staff were so appropriate in their approach. We felt our dog Ruby and ourselves were cared for.

Warm welcoming receptionist, the vet was very kind and took her time with my little hamster. I didn't feel rushed at all, she let me ask as many questions as I needed and gave me a full rundown of everything going on. I felt she really cared, lovely experience especially during such a stressful time.

Very pleased with service. They gave my pet fantastic treatment. Saved his life and really spent a lot of time caring for him and making sure we understood everything. We were not rushed into making any decisions and given all the time and information we needed. They were on hand 24/7 for us to call and check up on our pet anytime and we were in no way made to feel an inconvenience for constantly calling. We are really grateful to all the staff for the support during a very scary time. Thank you. Humphrey is doing well 😊
