Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Failed to complete a basic routine check, totally missed doing a temperature check during an examination during an emergency visit which would have identified the issues 24 hours earlier, when I raised this directly with Vets Now after discussing it with my usual vet they tried to blame it on my pets behaviour. Left feeling very upset, frustrated and would definitely not recommend.

Critical care overnight - very happy with care as was too poorly to transfer to referral vets, stabilised enough to continue journey next day.

It would be five star if it wasn’t three times more expensive than visiting our regular Vets.

Able to make the emergency appointment quickly.
The vets were amazing and our Ronin was well cared for.
Great communication throughout the whole experience and had every confidence in the care that our beloved cat was receiving.
Thank you so much.

The system for referral was clear and quick. A timely appointment was made straight away within 20 minutes drive. On arrival, my dog was seen immediately. The vet was clear and knowledgeable and was able to give initial treatment for my dog’s condition. I was particularly grateful for clear communication as I am hearing impaired which can cause additional problems.

People were lovely and my dog came home all mended. All very clear about what was to happen and how much it would cost.

lack of phone response, poor timely advice which meant a decision had to be made quickly. Better service might have meant a more measured decision could have been made that possibly meant my dog did not require treatment. Kept being told short of staff, but the amount the bill cost this should not have been an issue.
Would not recommend.

I really wouldn't call a visit to the Emergency Vet "great" so you might want to rephrase that one.
Pleasant female Vet, reception staff efficient.
Fee exorbitant.

Dreadful, £350 to get into the building, barely acknowledged our concerns, 2 injections, which totaled £28, they charged £24 each to administer so then add vat one injection was £101 total bill including £1 voluntary charity donation, which we were not asked. They just took..total bill £490, so the £350 is quite literally to get in the building unbelievable they also charge £48 to physically give the injection, I'm absolutely mortified. What an appalling place and robbery too for the voluntary donation. I'm NEVER going back

The Vet we saw was so kind and informative explaining to us the diagnosis and ongoing care our dog will need when we had to take our her for an emergency appointment.
We would not hesitate to recommend the practice to friends and family.

We had two very poorly dogs late at night. We were told to come straight in, the dogs were seen straight away and we were put at ease. Couldn’t fault the wonderful staff.

We took our cat to this branch of Vets Now on boxing day after she was suffering from non stop vomiting. We were seen to swiftly and the vetinary staff were very helpful and knowledgeable (Special thanks to your vet Bella who was fantastic) . We were given various options regarding diagnosing the issue and provided the medication needed to make our cat better. Our local vet was informed of our visit and called for a follow up the next morning.
We opted to claim the cost back via our pet insurance (there was a small fee) but this process was easy and our insurance paid out in full.
This is a really well organised and reliable out of hours vets so definitely reccomend them if you have to take your pets for any out of hours emergencies.
